  1. Well looks like Peter Crook (Id say suitably named) stepped down from Provident Financial Group...This little gem comes through... Start reclaiming folks, for all those times the admitted ROP wasnt PPI in any form...
  2. I have been dealing with Lowell as they are taking me to court for non-payment of a credit card from three years ago. A court date has been set for beginning of October and Lowell have sent me the paperwork requested after being told to by the court, albeit the credit agreement does not have my signature on it is covered up by a vanquis stamp and signature. Today I have received a General Form of Judgement or Order which states that:- UNLESS the claimant files a completed allocation questionnaire and pays the fee by 4pm on .... the claim will be struck out without further order. UNLESS the defendant files a completed allocation questionnaire and pays the fee by 4pm on .... the claim will be struck out without further order. Am unsure what I am supposed to do and hope someone can help. Many Thanks.
  3. Some advice please. I have Lowells sending threats for court action decided to send off the standard CCA request to lowells and SAR request to Vanquis (however I still am waiting for a response from Vanquis 6 weeks on). I have received the following response from Lowells which is a application details print screen and a copy of the agreement. is this complying with my request and all the details I'm supposed to get or are they hoping it'll keep me quiet to pay up? Many thanks in advance lowells paperwork edited.pdf
  4. Just had the shock of my life, Vanquis called on my mobile with a chap with a South African accent. No kidding within thirty seconds of hanging up Land Line rings with another gentleman with a dodgy accent It appears had been placed on an automatic call dialer by mistake for some reason but all sorted Who the hell are these people anyway who think they can call customers on a sunday?
  5. Created a new thread for all correspondence I receive from Capquest and any questions relating to it that I can't find answers for. I hope this is OK. I sent Capquest a CCA request on 20th July via recorded delivery. They received it on 21st July. My understanding is they then have 12 working days to provide the CCA (+2 two days for delivery). with that in mind, unless they provide that CCA the account would be in dispute on 10th Aug, yes or no? I received a letter Friday 4th Aug dated 3rd Aug saying they have forwarded my request to Vanquis and will send it to me as soon as they have it. I also received a letter today, dated 4th Aug saying I've recently raised a query on my account, and they've placed my account on hold for 28 days and have contacted Vanquis for further information. If they haven't had a response by 31 Aug they'll write to me again with an update. at what point is the matter in dispute/default/unenforceable? Does it matter that they write and say they're still looking for it? Or do they literally have 12+2 days to provide me the CCA and if they don't (regardless of them writing to say they are still waiting for Vanquis) the account is in dispute/default/unenforceable? Many thanks.
  6. Hi all, Back in 2013 and a period before I had some pretty turbulent financial times. Some of my debts have now dropped off my credit file this morning I got a letter through from Lowell. I've had tonnes before including an offer £350 for a partial settlement a few months back. I have just been ignoring these letters or marking them RTS. I'm just slightly concerned because this one is a different format to usual with the heading 'Pre-legal Assessment'. Should I just continue to ignore? Once I calmed down I noticed the text was less clear than it first appeared - 'whether to transfer' and 'a decree may be registered' The problem is I don't have the money to pay this there is another one with Lowell for about £600 on my credit file if I were to pay I suspect they'd come after me for that too. Also... quick question on the decree. If a decree were to be issued would it drop ofter after 6 years from being issued or 6yrs after the initial default? The default was issued in Oct 2013. Thanks for your help in advance. Lowell.pdf
  7. Last October my partner had heart surgery, as a result, income into the house was significantly reduced. I contacted Vanquis immediately to explain, and that I had the basic payment protection option and would like to activate a 6 month break. I was told that this was not going to happen as it wasn't me having the surgery and that it didn't effect me. How when the partners wage is the only income - no tax credits, nothing else. as a result I ended up behind with payments. Been trying to sort freezing interest etc out, but keep hitting a brick wall. Now they've sent it to Moorcroft, with loads of interest and fees on too. Since Moorcroft contacted me, Ive also had more statements off Vanquis too, so both are chasing, and Vanquis still adding more. Moorcroft have said they'll freeze my account for 30 days until I can get any information I need. can anyone give me advice please on steps. Do I go back straight to Vanquis, can I reclaim any charges or interest? I did ask them to cancel the repayment option when they told me it was useless in October, but they've left it running, costing an extra £50 a month. Thankyou in advance.
  8. I had a letter come through the door a few weeks ago from Lucas Credit Services, stating that they were acting on behalf on Lowells. In the envelope was a letter from Lowells saying Lucas were sorting the debt for them, and i had 7 days to reply Before the 7 days was up i had Lucas emailing me "if you don't reply to us, we will continue to correspond to you via email". I had no more letters but 3 emails. Up until now, i've not heard anything about this debt since 2011. It seems as though they are trying to get a rise out of me. Do i correspond to them via email? At the moment, i set it to go into my junk folder, i did debate blocking them. History: Its a Vanquis credit card taken out in 2010 of around £400ish. I tried to pay them multiple ways: went into bank and was refused, rang up and they kept disconnecting me. with that, i didn't bother to pay I then came into financial difficulties, i'd gone beyond the point of no return. It was defaulted in 2011, and no payment was ever made on the account. Its no up to £600 odd, and i know most of that is charges. Whats your guys take on this?
  9. Got this through the post. Attention grabbing or what ?
  10. Should Vanquis be sending out Annual Staements even if smaller than normal monthly payments are being made?
  11. Hello, I hope this the the correct forum to place this, it is my first time posting! I'm trying to build my credit up and settle the newest debts (there's only a few but I've a very low credit score). I have a CCJ from 2013 for a vanquis credit card. For the same debt I have an ongoing default under Lowell on my credit report from 2012. Now I have lost against Lowell and a judgement for claimant has been granted. I'm just wondering what I can do now as I would like to just settle the debt within the 1 month but then what will happen to the default and the original CCJ. I also believe you shouldnt have a default superseeding a CCJ nor 2 x CCJs for the same judgement. If I do not pay within 1 month I'll have 2 x CCJs and a default on my credit report for the same debt. Just wondering if anyone can help with the best course of action. Many thanks,
  12. Hi Just looking through some old Vanquis bank credit card statements and have noticed a charge for 'Repayment Option Plan' is this PPI? Thanks in advance
  13. Hey I'm not sure if this is in the right sub-forum, I currently have poor credit rating as i rarely have any direct debits/contracts etc to come out of any account of mine, i also got myself into a bit of trouble with pay day loans when i was a bit younger and more gullible. I recently had a letter come through the post from Vanquis offering me a credit card with 39.9% APR. I've been considering getting a credit card recently and as the chances of the bank issuing me one is low, I wonder if this would be a viable option? Can a credit card help me rebuild my credit rating if i make all payments on time? I've also heard of this Aqua Card with the same APR. Or is this too risky? Thanks in advance of any response.
  14. took out with vanquis loan they stopped taking payments (can you believe it!)the way they said . therefore when my payments are not taken i have to pay more money which they apparently have just lent me to pay them back. (have i posted in the right place?i am new here.)any help!!!
  15. Hi guys, sorry, the first half of this post has disappeared. My second question is basically, is it worth sending Vanquis an SAR because they are likely to have made punitive charges and penalties when my card went into default. This is with a view to claiming them back. Thanks, Mikey_L
  16. Hi, I (stupidly) have a Vanquis credit card. Had it for a few years and everything was fine although I am always close to my limit. I do everything online and last month the access to my account was denied for some reason. I know I wasn't over my card limit and I always watch this very closely to avoid charges. This meant I couldn't make a payment online and they didn't send me a paper statement. I've now received a paper statement for this month which shows that due to missing last months payment I am now over the limit. As a result they charged me a late payment charge and an over limit charge totalling £24 . Can I just tell them I'm not paying the charges and ask them to recalculate my interest as I assume that will be higher (albeit by not much) because of the charges? Thanks in advance for any advice.

  19. Hi ! Spot of advice please. My wife has a balance of £1,172 on her vanquis card, she ran into financial difficulties and subsequently misssed 3 payments. She managed to raise £590.00 (from an insurance payout) and offered that as an ex-gratia payment in full and final settlement. We wrote to Vanquis on February 1st with that offer, and again repeating that offer on February 22nd. they have failed to respond or even acknowledge either letters. We wrote to Impact Collection services with the exact same offer and they too have ignored our letters (all letters have been sent via recorded delivery). Just wondering how best to proceed next. Many thanks.
  20. I recently received a Vanquis credit card, to help build up my credit, & also to help out during Christmas. My minimum payment was due today(28/11/16), I have already paid Vanquis twice. Once on the 10th of November & again on the 23rd of November. A refund of £28 was also paid on the 24th of November. I don't understand why they have tried to take money from my bank account, when I have already paid them twice in one month. I was told that I can make early payments, & I am aware that I have set up a direct debit for Vanquis. They have tried to take a DD of £20 from my bank account, which has now been returned, because I didn't have sufficient funds in my account. does this mean that it doesn't matter if I make a payment early to Vanquis & I will still be debited on the same date as every month? I thought I was doing them a favour too, & in the end they have charged me a fee for not paying them on the intended date! There's a flaw in the plan man!
  21. Hi all - hoping someone can give me some guidance. Back in June, I withdrew £200 in cash from my Credit Card as my daughter was going away and urgently needed funds. She agreed to pay me back when the statement came in the following month. So, she paid the £200 back in July directly to my credit card and we have since fallen out - basically over her lifestyle and dishonesty pertaining to it. Anyway, the upshot is, Vanquis have reversed the payment this month and debited the account as she has disputed the transaction saying that she doesn't recognise the payment. I'm not sure I can do anything about this at all but thought I'd check with you knowledgeable lot for any ideas! I would mention that my credit card and her bank card both have the same surname and at the time, I think, the same address. Looking forward to people's thoughts - thank you
  22. Hi All, Received so much help and support way back in 2005-2008 which turned my life around. Unfortunately a DCA (CABOT) has re-surfaced issuing a CCJ Claim chasing what I believe to be a Statute Barred debt for Vanquis they have bought. I will post all details in the relevant place and look forward to your much appreciated assistance. Regards
  23. Phone call from this lot recently asking to confirm security details, I refused as they wouldn't tell me why. we got nowhere, I told them write only. Guy said they would keep ringing until matter resolved. Daily phone calls from automated service, pressed option 3 on the first one, but despite that being for when the person is never there, it kept ringing every day. Email complaint went to CEO, reply came that number now off database while they investigate my complaint. ...reply sent to them it stays off anyway or complaint will escalate. Letter received today sub heading Provident Personal Credit Loan... ....now the one and only loan I had from these was in 2001/2 and to my knowledge settled. So long ago I haven't got any paperwork now. As the guy who initially rang wouldn't tell me what it was about I have only just found out from this letter... ...what should I do now? Any advice appreciated.
  24. Hi There, Very very new to all of this but was recommended by a friend to seek advice. I received on Sat 2nd July a Claim for Lowell solicitors in regards to a credit card debt I had some years ago when in a dire financial situation. The sum total for the debt inc cost etc is now £723. My situation has improved only slightly in that I am now working part time, but I am trying to keep my head above water in regards to other debts. Whilst at a push I could offer a payment plan of some description, I was wondering if there is anyway I can fight this. I wouldn't be opposed to paying vanquish the original debt now, but to pay lowel who has bought the debt just infuriates me. Just wondering if I have options or not. I haven't had any phone or letter correspondence with them though periodically I have received letters threatening action, which I have ignored (I know My own fault ). Appreciate any advice thanks
  25. Hi there I currently have an outstanding debt of £1889 on a vanquis credit card I thought there was a default registered to this card but my credit file shows not I have an arrangement to pay in place since July 2013 and have paid £40 on Time each month I have recently requested a F&F SETTLEMENT and they will accept £1000 but only on a partial basis which is no good to man nor beast as the debt will then be re sold They say it isn't possible but I have explained that if they write of the difference the account can be fully settled at £1000 I have had the card since 2005/6 and can't remember the last time I used it- the credit limit is 3k and ive no doubt the balance is made up of interest and charges Can someone give me any tips on leverage. I have other debts which I need to settle this year as I need to re mortgage Thanks in anticipation
