  1. is this still relevant or has it been removed. Parking company stripped of power to enforce tickets after photo fraud DVLA stamps on parking company that cheated Published 28 September 2015 By Dominic Tobin Share Article HUNDREDS OF car parks across Britain could descend into a free-for-all after the effective shutdown of one of Britain’s biggest parking companies. UK Parking Control (UKPC) has been stripped of its power to enforce parking tickets after being caught doctoring evidence against drivers. Click to read car REVIEWS or search NEW or USED cars for sale on driving.co.uk The company has been suspended from the list of operators that have access to the government’s central list of vehicle owners. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) took the action when it became the latest organisation to launch an investigation of the firm over allegations of fraudulently issued tickets. UKPC claims to operate more than 2,000 car parks across Britain for hospital trusts, supermarkets and housing associations. Earlier this month The Sunday Times revealed that wardens working for the company had falsified time-stamps to make it appear that drivers had overstayed in car parks. They then issued their vehicles with tickets. The ruse was exposed when victims set up a campaign group to highlight cases of fraud and the company confessed that wardens had exploited a loophole in its software to alter time-stamps. The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau is also looking into one case of doctored tickets involving UKPC. Motorists who receive a parking ticket from UKPC while the firm is banned from obtaining driver details cannot be traced by the company, even if the suspension is subsequently lifted, the DVLA said.
  2. Morning everyone, First time poster on here, bit nervous as I've been a bit poorly recently but seen that this site has been fantastic support to so many people! I've received a claim form from UKPC/SCS Law regarding 5 PCNs from 2015 and are issued in a retail park car park where I worked in one of the stores up until about 3 weeks ago. The car park is a 3 hour max stay car park. I have not acknowledged or appealed any of the PCNs (I was following the advice of 'ignore all' but this now transpires may not be the best way, and I have lost some of the PCNs and NTKs) or entered into any correspondence with UKPC/DRP/SCS Law. I have not yet contacted the management company for the retail park as I thought it best to seek advice on here first before entering into any correspondence. LBA from SCS Law received 28/10/16 stating 14 days for payment. Claim Form from Northampton County Court Business Centre received 17/11/16. I'm going to acknowledge the claim on the MCOL website this morning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  3. I just received a claim form from Northampton County Court Business centre. The claimant is UKPC through their legal team SCS. I got several parking notices back in May 2013 for parking on an access road in a private residential area. So can anyone please help me with the defence I need to write on this claim form. On the form, there is also an option to tick regarding jurisdiction, can anyone clarify me what this means please. I also want this case to be heard in Brentford County court because thats only 2,5 miles from residential area in question. I don't understand why they had to go that far away. Thanking all of you in advance
  4. Hi, I have been given permission to use a fellow residents space while they are away and my permit must have slipped off the dash and landed on the floor. So UKPC have given me a ticket. Do I just need my neighbour to inform UKPC that I was given permission to park in their space?
  5. I Parked at the rear of Argos whilst I went straight to Argos to pay for the item. It had already been ordered on line. I was gone for no more than 5 or 10 minutes. When I returned to my car, there was a UKPC parking charge on the windscreen. I had parked a few yards away from the collection entrance as there was already a car there, and I didn't want to block any ones way. It was a Sunday and very quiet. There were plenty of other parking spaces available. The ticket on my windscreen states "A Parking charge of £ is outstanding" ....... there is no figure printed there, but if you look VERY closely, the printed amount is on the line below and mingles with further text so cannot be easily seen. I have a receipt from Argos for the item purchased, whose date and time is one minute away from the one on the parking ticket. I went back into Argos to complain, but the girl said it was nothing to do with them as it was not their land. I've also contacted Argos help on line .... and been told to sort it out with the parking company. I've also rung CAB for their advice. I've read some of the threads on here and feel more optimistic. Am I right in thinking that I need to wait for UKPC to write to me before doing anything? I realise that this would mean I might have to pay the £100, rather than the £60 (which is buried in the text) Any help gratefully received. Whatever the outcome though, my view of Argos has plummeted. Also, an elderly gentleman who parked at the same time as myself, got a parking ticket too. they must have been rubbing their hands together that day! The signage did say do not leave your car unattended, but I assumed that Argos owned the land, and being as they tell you to go around the back, that it would be alright to park there to pay for the item. Apologies for the length of this, but I wanted to give all the facts. Thank you P.S. The area I parked in has signs saying "No Unauthorised Parking". It was not a car park you bought a ticket to use. My parking Charge states "Parked in a permit area without displaying a valid permit"
  6. For many years I have parked in my company designated car space, which I pay for, and my UKPC permit stays on display inside my dashboard. In May I found a UKPC penalty charge ticket on my windscreen saying my permit was not properly displayed. Going online to their website their photos show the UKPC permit visible but the bottom part is hidden by the dashboard. I immediately appealed online and asked them to send me dates of all times they had been to the car park in 2016 as this would show I am (and therefore this was evidence proving I am validly parked). As requested by them I have sent them a copy of my permit and three letters, including invoices for my costs in dealing with them. They have completely ignored my requests for information and last week told me they did not accept my appeal and if I appeal to POPLA early payment discount no longer applies and I would have to pay £100. I am being bullied to pay a lower fine but because this is such a blatant attempt to extract a fine when no offence has occurred I have now submitted my appeal to POPLA. if I lose that appeal I will lose all faith in justice. UKPC advised me they do not have a legal contract with me in relation to my charging them but I feel they should compensate me for time wasted and costs incurred. On my original appeal I told them I would charge them for future correspondence and they did not dispute this or my invoices until 6 weeks later. Is there any way to get them to provide the evidence I requested and to force them to pay for their immoral actions? UK PC Photos online May 16.pdf
  7. Hello all, This year I have got a parking ticket when I came to see a movie. Apparently the car park just in front of cinema doors belongs to another Bingo company and is controlled with UKPC. I didnt even noticed small signs saying its the car park just for Bingo registered users only and after the movie found a NTD. It was issued 9-4-2016 with 100£ fine. Back home I went through the forums and threads looking for information and noticed that the best thing is just ignore it. in 10-05-2016 I received NTK from UKPC reminding me their fees which I also ignored. After 15 days another letter came up with Final reminder to pay and that I burn in hell. There was a paragraph sounding like this: "Your vehicle was in breach of the terms and conditions of parking which were clearly and prominently displayed and agreed by the driver when your vehicle was parked on private land. Despite issuing Parking Charge and writing to you previously we (UK Parking Control) have not received payment . If, after a period of 14 days, (beginning with the day after this notice is given) the amount requested in this notice has not been paid in full the charge will be passed to debt recovery. If necessary, County Court proceedings will be commenced against you for the amount outstanding, interest and court costs. If the Court orders Judgment against you and payment of that Judgment is not made this may affect your ability to borrow money or obtain credit in the future. A warrant may also be issued by the Court's appointed bailiff to recover the payment. At this point you would also become liable for the additional fees of the bailiff." I ignored that too. On 10-06-2016 I have received letter from DRP (Debt Recovery Plus Ltd) which sounds like this: "Demand for payment of an unpaid parking charge £160.00 Our client has written to you recently about the unpaid parking charge detailed above. As they have not received payment, they have referred the matter to us for collection. Supreme Court of the United Kingdom - landmark court decision On 4th November 2015 a landmark judgment was handed down in favour of a parking operator who took a motorist to court for non payment of a typical parking charge. This case was seen as an important 'test case' due to the complex legal arguments used by both sides. The ruling sets a legally binding precedent on all similar cases for the whole United Kingdom. You now need to pay the amount due of £160. Please make sure that your payment reaches us no later than 20/06/2016. You can pay online.. waffle waffle... What if you don't pay what you owe If yo uare liable for thios charge and do not pay the full amount by 24/06/2016 or if you not agreed a payment option with us by then, we will recommend to the creditor that court action should be taken to recover what you owe." Now I am not sure shoud I continue ignoring or do something as all the forum threads I read was written in 2014 and not sure about the law changes.. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
  8. I have received copies of letters sent to a person who parked in a car park managed by UKPC. Originally he got screen tickets slapped on his car and he ignored them and waited for the NTK. After just under 2 months he got letters thouth the post saying "final reminder" and they go on to say that he has been idnetified as the driver at the time by the keeper. Well, as the vehicle is his and he hasnt said a word i wonder how UKPC can leap to taht conclusion. It is more likely that they know they will have to spend good money making their case at POPLA so have just let the clock run down, invent a cock and bull story and hope that someone will be impressed by the novel approach With UKPC's track record I would say deception but that would imply they are deliberately trying to deceive but I am happy to accept that they are just palin incompetent or stupid. however, if you have received a screen ticket at the Valley retail park in Croydon please let us know so I can compare the wording on the NTK (or "final remninder" if you didnt get the NTK in time) This doesnt change the rubbish incoherent signage at the retail park into ones that are actual contractual offers though.
  9. Hi I am a tenant living a block of flats. I have received at least 20 parking charge notices The main reason stated on the parking charge notice is" not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space within bay marking". After their initial letter and final reminders and DR agent letter, I have received a letter from their small claims solicitor stating: we act for UKPC and are instructed to recover the charges shown below incurred by you in relation to the parking of your vehicle The total is £900 ( 6 x £150) Im sure I will receive at least two or even three more of these as my notices are at least 20 ( ie a total of maybe £2700-£3000). Im panicking now. My worry is that I was parked on private land managed by the management company. I am a tenant not the owner of the flat. However, as we have two cars, but one car space, I parked within the perimeters of the property, but somewhere where I had never caused an obstruction. Whats really astonishing is that I have even received 2 charges on a single day, within 12 hours. I have also received 4 on four consecutive days inclusdng te weeknd when I was off work. I want to emphasise the difference between my case and others who have very kindly posted theirs on this site in that: 1. I was parked in a non designated parking area on the private property I live in, rather than the parking bay 2. I have not appealed any of the claims. The thought of £900, and even more, if they are successful is stressing me out. Cant sleep. Cant focus on work Tried citizens advice bureau, but not much of help. Tried calling some solicitors, but they aren't that interested. Tried rip off Britain and waiting. I feel all doors are closed o me and I will end up in court and lose. Im doomed and gloomed I feel. Pleas please please advise. I would really be very very appreciative. Many thanks Mo
  10. Hi all. Well what a lovely end to the week! Very briefly... i went to a local mini retail park on Newport road in Cardiff. Spent no more than 10 mins in Argos if that. Put a large box in my car. Went to Aldi again no more than 10 mins in there (walked out after not wanting to que) and i come back to find i ticket on my windscreen. Now back tracking, i work somewhere i have to park in a supermarket car park where im constantly having my car banged and scraped. when i go to park in the retail park i know im gong to have a heavy box (was buying a desk chair) so wanted to park as close as i could and when i go to pull in the car in the space next to me is completely on the wonk, and i just think there is no way im parking close to that idiot so i park over the next line. Now i do admit its annoying when people do this. However i dont expect to get charged £60 for the pleasure especially when its no more than a 20 min time period. What annoyed me most was the car that was parked far worse than i was had been there the whole time and they hadn't got a ticket. Can you please advise me what to do. If you think its pointless fighting as i was over the line id rather just suck it up and pay the lower fee. But £60!!! Jease
  11. I hope someone can help Where to begin? I have received two parking charge notices (5 days apart) for parking in my local shopping center car park, from UKPC. I have to add that there was a covenant with my local council and the shopping center owners that charges for parking would never be imposed. I have since learned that this covenant expired in 2013. As a result they are now issuing charges for anyone exceeding a 3 hour limit. I am disabled and currently in receipt of Employment Support Allowance. I am not disputing parking there but was totally unaware of any new parking rules. Having not visited my local shopping center for over 18 months I wouldn't have been looking for any signs to suggest such restrictions. I wouldn't mind so much but I was there volunteering for a local charity (Monday and Thursday mornings 14/18 April). On both occasions I exceeded the time limit by 15 and 16 minutes respectively and I suspect that I will receive yet another for Thursday 21st April. I really don't know what to do about these as I simply cannot afford to pay, I don't have the means!! both charges are for £60 if paid within 14 days or £100 if paid within 28. I would really appreciate anyone's advice on this matter as I really do not know what to do? Many thanks Roo
  12. Please, could any one kindly advice me. I used to be an employee of the Bucks hospitals (NHS) Trust working at the Wycombe hospital. I have now retired but they retained me as a bank staff helping them out when they are really short of staff. I occasionally work there at weekends and nights when parking is not a problem. Now UKPC which recently took over the parking management are giving me these parking charges which I feel are rather unreasonable. They recently gave me a parking charge while I was parked and inside the laboratory working. I just find it ridiculous because here I am providing a very important service in the hospital for the benefit of patient care and then these people keep worrying me with these parking charges. My question is, shall I just ignore them and wait till they take me to court? Is my contract with the hospital to provide laboratory testing not superior to any perceived contract that UKPC might think I have with them? After all to provide my service I necessarily have to park on the site. Moreover it is never during hours when parking is limited. By the way, when the hospital originally introduced parking control it was meant to be operative only during working hours. (9am -5pm, Monday to Friday). However, UKPC has now extended it to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I think because of the financial incentive they prefer it this way. I am prepared to fight it all the way but I just wanted to know what my chances are. I also question this idea of the hospital grounds being private land. is that really the case? is an NHS hospital car park regarded as private land? It is our hospital, we the tax payers, right? please give me all the advice available. Oh, I have not bothered to apply for a parking permit because I don't need it except the odd weekend day or night. Applying for a permit would only deny another member of staff who would really need it since there are only a limited number of permits available due to the limited number of spaces. Thanks to every one in advance.
  13. Hi, I am new to the forum and to parking tickets. Today after calling into a shopping centre and parking in a disabled bay with a blue badge displayed. I came out to find a ticket on my window screen from UKPC stating the reason as "Parked in a disabled person's space without clearly displaying a valid disabled persons badge". The blue badge has slipped down the dash board, this is the picture they took Can someone please advise do I contact them and appeal, or do I ignore this parking fine. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi In early 2014(march-april) I received a pcn from ukpc for parking on private land. Firstly, 1) I wasnt the driver at the time(car was on my name) 2) i sold that car in November 2014 Since then after alot of gaps ukpc have been sending me letters. With the latest one 2 months ago i think from a debt collection agency. My point is i never ever replied to any letters and didn't pay the fine. Now i am worried though as i read they can order a ccj against me and I don't want that happening as it will ruin my credit. I am quite sure I haven't received any court orders etc but my worry is i just used to rip any letters from ukpc without reading so i am getting paranoid that i mightve missed a ccj letter. My question is 1) should i worry about this fine 2) as i sold the car and wasnt the driver at that time anyway will this ticket be still valid? 3) should i contact ukpc and just pay them what they want to get this matter resolved? Can anyone shed some light please as I don't want a ccj against me... Thanks.
  15. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. From what I have read there is a lot of good people on here, giving a helping hand. Which is just what I could do with. I just popped to my local B&Q and pet store, on my Motorbike. As there does not seem to be any motorbike parking that is clearly designated. To save using a whole car space, I parked just behind the metal railings in front of B&Q, to the left of their entrance. Well out the way of the entrance and not in anyone's way. I was only there for about 10 mins. When I came back there was a parking ticket stuck on top of my tank, from UKPC for what looks like £100.00 but if I pay within 14 days it's £60.00. I was not in a marked bay, but was not in any way blocking a path or entrance/exit. Should I just ignor it? They will probably have a photo of me without my crash helmet, so would not be able to say that I was not driving it. Regards Pete
  16. I have previous experience of 'other' organisations who have tried to extract money from unsuspecting drivers who have inadvertently parked in spaces surrounded by their poor signage etc. In this example the events were as follows; Have been a Carer for a disabled person who has legitimate access to a blue badge and can park in disabled parking bays in line with the badge T&C's. However, the registered keeper of the vehicle passed away and I inadvertently parked in a disabled bay but NOT displayed the badge as I was not entitled to use it. However, upon returning to the vehicle I noticed a PCN stuck to the windscreen for not displaying a blue badge. My thoughts are to write to them explaining the RK has passed away and invoke their appeals procedure, enclosing copy of death certificate. Will this be admitting liability and therefore accepting the PCN or should I just invoke the appeals procedure under the 'normal' challange route of signage/ not genuine pre-estimate of loss etc? I would very much appreciate any advice.
  17. Hi, I've recently moved to London from Australia and hired a car for a weekend. I stopped in a red route with the hire car. I know this is the forum for parking enforcement, however for some reason I have UKPC chasing me. Apparently they work for the hire car company and are charging me £49.95 for them to move the liability from them to me. I called the hire car company and they have confirmed that this is their procedure. They emailed me a few days ago with an invoice (attached to this post). They also attached a copy of the PCN issued to them by TFL. I called TFL and they confirmed that they have received my details from the hire car company and that they will forward me the fine. I will pay the TFL fine, but what's with the UKPC invoice? What do I do with this? If you look at the attached invoice, it says that they can charge me interest for late payments.
  18. Are UKPC still unable to retrieve driver details from DVLA due to their fraudulent actions?
  19. Hi I wondered whether I could seek some advice for my appeal with POPLA against UKPC please? To summarise, UKPC issued a Parking charge ticket on a vehicle on 9/8/2015 for parking in a disabled persons space without displaying a badge. The vehicle owner was not the driver at the time. A NTK was then issued by UKPC to the vehicle owner on 8/9/15 and the following appeal was sent to UKPC by the keeper: As UK Parking Control Ltd (UKPC) have failed to contact the keeper of the above vehicle within the time stipulated in the provisions of the PoFA, then on this basis UKPC Ltd are timed out and therefore the Notice to Keeper issued is deemed to be invalid. Please note that the Notice to Keeper was issued on 8 September 2015. According to PoFA a Notice to Keeper can be served by ordinary post and the Protection of Freedoms Act requires that the Notice, to be valid, must be delivered NOT later than 14 days after the vehicle was parked (alleged date the vehicle was parked is 09/08/2015). Therefore, as UKPC Ltd are timed out to pursue the above parking charge and have breached the PoFA guidelines, this shows that UKPC Ltd have failed to comply with the PoFA rules and as a result any further contact about this matter will result in a complaint of harassment. Also, due to UKPC Ltd’s failure to comply with the above rules BPA, POPLA and Trading standards have been notified of UKPC Ltd’s illegal practices as a company. The above appeal was rejected by UKPC and a Popla code was issued. An appeal was then made by the Keeper to Popla with the following: The parking incident was on 09/08/2015 and the Notice to Keeper was received on 08/09/2015. According to PoFA, paragraph 9(5), a Notice to Keeper can be served by ordinary post and the Protection of Freedoms Act requires that the Notice, to be valid, must be delivered NOT later than 14 days after the vehicle was parked and therefore keeper liability does not apply. The parking company can therefore only pursue the driver. As the parking company have neither named the driver(s) nor provided any evidence as to who the driver(s) were, I submit I am not liable to any charge. Further to this PoFA, paragraph 8(e) requires the creditor to state that they do not know the name of the driver and a current address for service for the driver. T his is not mentioned on the Notice to Keeper, although it is one of the criteria’s that is required to be met, as stipulated by the law. In addition, no Creditor has been identified on the Notice to Keeper. Failing to include specific identification as to who 'the Creditor' may be is misleading and not compliant, in accordance to paragraph 8(2)(h) and 9(2)(h) of Schedule 4 of the POFA. The Notice to Keeper simply mentions UKPC as the company the payment is to be made payable to. However, in the Notice to Keeper UKPC makes reference to ‘your vehicle was recorded on our client’s private property’ but does not refer to or specify the details of the actual creditor making this £100 parking charge demand. Also, the total charge due in the Notice to Keeper is £100. I strongly believe that this charge is punitive. According to the Unfair Terms Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, the charge of £100 exceeds the potential cost or consequential loss to the landowner and therefore, the burden of proof is on UKPC to prove that it is not. UKPC replied to the popla appeal with the following defence: On 09.08.15 our warden issued a parking charge to vehicle registration ? at ?. The parking charge was issued because the vehicle was parked in a disabled person’s space without clearly displaying a valid disabled person’s badge. The Parking Charge amount was £100, reduced to £60 if payment was received within 14 days. An appeal was received from ? on 30.09.15, to which the appeals department investigated and decided to reject. ?? states in appeal to both UKPC and POPLA that the notice to owner she received is invalid as it cannot be sent later than 14 days after a charge has been issued, a notice to owner is only sent after 14 days if it has been issued by an ANPR camera. As ?? charge has been issued by a warden, the NTO was sent out after 28 days therefore not breaching the BPA code of practice. We note your reference to Schedule 4, Section 7(2)(e) of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. We have now corresponded with you on more than a single occasion and in doing so, we have clearly identified that we are the creditor and that we seek the outstanding charge. A s you have correctly pointed out, identifying ourselves as the creditor is not the same as naming ourselves as the creditor. We have sent correspondence to you in our own name, we also have our registered address, contact details and a means to pay on our documentation, all of which fully complies with the requirements in the Protection of Freedoms Act and all of which indicates clearly that we are the creditor. The highest court in the UK, the Supreme Court, has unambiguously confirmed that parking charges issued on private land are fully enforceable. In the case of ParkingEye v Beavis [2015] UKSC 67 their Lordships stated that private parking charges were enforceable because they served a legitimate interest and were in the interests of the public generally. The case confirmed that the amount of the charge does not have to reflect any loss that might have been caused by breach of the terms and conditions of parking. The Supreme Court decision is binding law on all other courts throughout the UK. UKPC asked ?? for a disabled badge as she was clearly parked in a disabled bay, as this was not provided the charge was correctly issued. We have a duty to ensure these bays are kept free for disabled people under the 2010 Equality Act a nd there is sufficient signage in view of ?? vehicle stating the terms and conditions on site. There are sufficient signs warning drivers that should they choose to park in a disabled person’s space without clearly displaying a valid disabled badge they may become liable to receive a Parking Charge. ?? vehicle was parked without clearly displaying a valid disabled badge and consequently the Parking Charge was issued correctly. Please note for anonymity name has been replaced with ??. Based on the above I would be grateful if anybody could offer advice as to whether there is anything further I need to submit to win the appeal? I have 7 days from today to reply to Popla. Also, is the appeal submitted strong enough to win the appeal? Thanks in advance.
  20. Received a rather unfortunate parking fine from UKPC after parking outside sports direct at a retail park in Aylesbury (I don't even live there hence why I didn't know about the pay and display rules). Walked up to car after a quick 20 minute visit, to find a ticket and the warden standing there I asked him why I had one. Not knowing about the need to have a ticket I tried to explain my innocence but he couldn't do anything. I read the sign after (my fault I know but I just didn't think I'd need a ticket) and it said parking free for two hours. I was there 20 mins and made a genuine mistake not knowing the car park rules. I appealed, and had an email saying if you don't hear back in 35 days to ring the number provided. It got to 35 days and no response. I rang them several times with no answer. I then received a letter today from debt collectors demanding £150! Original fine was 100 or 50 if I paid before 28 days. I rang the debt collectors and stated I had not received a response to my appeal, to which they said a letter was sent out on 2 Nov 15 - which is 5 days after my appeal. I have never received the letter. If I did I would've reacted there and then. They have said pay up or it goes to court effectively. Now I feel I am being harassed without my appeal being dealt with properly. I've heard the BPA or POPLA can assist? But as it stands I can see it only escalating and my mitigation does not seem to have been looked at fairly in my opinion. Has anybody got any advice? I am being fined for making a genuine mistake but the fact the parking was free for two hours and I was there for 20 mins seems extremely unfair if I can only have a common sense approach applied plus the fact my appeal rejection was never received by me must stand some ground?
  21. I need some advice:- Mygirlfriend and I drove separate vehicles to St St Catherines retail park, Iarrived in my works mobile tyre fitter van as I was on call that weekend and mygirlfriend had her wee car. We arrived justbefore 3pm to drop our dog off to the groomers at Pets at Hoome Groomers theappointment was for for 3.30pm, we left the dog and was told he would take2.5hrs, we left my works van parked in the carpark it was easier to take myworks van to the carpark incase I got a call out rather than leave it at homewhich is 16 miles away, my depo is only 3 miles from where we were in the city. We went to variousshops that were in the retail park to do some xmas shopping, we then went into the other St Catherines Retail Park, (there are 3 of them)in mygirlfriends car which is roughly a 10 mins walk, however due to buying xmas presents thought best to take the girlfriends car, we left my van in original carpark due to the area being busy due to the city having their Christmas Light switch on and the arrival of Father Christmas andthe Coke Cola Lorry being in the area. We really didn’t think about the time andhad no idea there was a time restriction, didn’t look at the signs just parkedand went, we were only 33 mins over the allocated time restriction according to the ticket. Today I received a "Parking Charge Notice" The amountof £60 to be paid by 09/12/15 or £100, thereafter What do I do as the ticket was sent to my headoffice who in fact faxed it to my branch this morning? My girlfriend has appealled it on the ukpc site but this takes 35 days to replay :jaw::jaw::jaw:
  22. Hello everyone! I got a ticket today in a UKPC car park, that i'm going to dispute because the signs about permits are inadequate- tiny writing and I had to explore the car park to find them. But I have a couple of questions- Does the UKPC suspended access to the DVLA mean that tickets issued whilst they have been suspended cant be followed up? But do I need to appeal if they cant follow the ticket up, and would appealing keep the ticket open so that they could contact the DVLA for a follow up at a later date? Thanks!
  23. Hi there, A few days or so ago I received a £60 parking charge while parked at the Metro Centre, Gateshead. The charge will be reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days. The ticket was received due to parking in a disabled bay apparently with no blue badge visible. My girlfriend is actually registered disabled due to arthritis and has a blue badge which we always use and we visit the Metro Centre approximately 4 or 5 days a week. On this occasion our 5 week old baby was restless and we quickly parked up in order to see to her needs inside. I`m not sure if I left out the badge or not, but when we returned back to the car we had a parking ticket, but the badge was on the floor, again not sure if I left it out on a hurry and it fell off the dash or not. As previously mentioned, the ticket was for £60 or reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days. Having looked on their website the pictures do show our car although I must admit the quality of the images are really crap. They have a pic of the signage which again is crap, blurred and pixalated. As most of you will probably know, the car park is owned by Metro Centre and offers free parking. I would like to challenge this so I would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
  24. I received a parking charge last week from UKPC for parking on my own allocated parking spot, but the permit was not displayed as it had come off the windscreen . I live in a block of flats and I have been given an allocated parking spot. This is the second this has happened and the first time, UKPC cancelled the ticket. Now there is a different team leader in customer services and I have been told to go to UKPC's appeals website or write to them. I intend to do neither, as I don't want to pass on any details. I was intending to write a letter to the team leader and request cancellation of the ticket, as I was parked in my bay and no loss was incurred to me, the landowner or the service management company. Should I do this, or wait for the Notification to Keeper and the POPLA code? Thanks.
  25. UKPC have finally admitted that some of their "wardens" have been altering the time stamps on photographs used on their PCNs. The "wardens" have been sacked and the loophole in the software has been closed. This was after the company initially said that all the photos were correct, the time stamps could not be altered, and that the motorist would have to pay up. This story has been featured on the BBC, the Sunday Times and by the Parking Prankster. If anyone suspects that they have been the victim of this sharp practice you should contact PPC, but also the BPA and possibly Trading Standards.
