Last week I shoplifted from sainsbury's and am extremely ashamed of that. I knew I shouldn't do it and sensed something was wrong, but at that time I was very very desperate and couldn't afford buying much. It was one of the most embarrassing things in my life, I'm so glad no one I knew saw me do it. I took about 5 packs of chewing gum worth maybe £0.46 each and looked out for cameras and hid them in my pocket where I thought I was invisible. Then I went to the public toilet in the store because I genuinely had to. I walked passed the self check out machines and held a bank letter and my purse in one hand, saw a security look at them. I didn't beep and was about to exit when I heard someone calling "excuse me, miss", but didn't turn around and kept walking. Some people next to me turned around and I got tapped on the shoulder. I got walked back in and stood next to some carts with a security officer. He asked where the chewing gum is and told me not to lie, all I could say is "sorry" because I panicked. He told me to follow him and lead me to the security room with another person. He told me to sit down and asked where I put the gum. Instead of resisting, I just reached for my pocket and put everything I attempted to steal on the table. He asked if he needs to search my bags, I said I don't mind, so he didn't. He asked how old i am, and i lied saying i'm 15 but i'm 16 because i thought this would change something. they didn't ask for my name or any details but just said they normally call police or parents at this age. he said he doesnt want to see my face in the store ever again and told me to never come back, and let me go. knowing i have to go back, i can't follow his rules, telling my mum isn't an option. does anyone have anything to say? what will happen if they see me enter the store/ recognise me/ how likely is that??

Got a parking ticket (from police not traffic warden) for parking in Dalry Place (Edinburgh, Scotland) which is pedestrianised. As a resident I am supposed to be allowed to stop and load there for 30 mins, but the ticket says I was recorded as being there for 3 mins (14:07 to 14:10). I can request a court hearing - just wondering if these ever go in favour of the defendant or do I stand little chance of getting off? I am thinking that I feel I am in the right, but is it going to be worth the hassle versus £30 fine...

Disappointing experience dealing with Brighthouse (Shocking news i know). Ive had an account with them for years. Did the TV/Laptop etc. on it which are all paid off now. Took a mobile phone with them in April, desperate for money in May and sold the phone. I was completely unaware that this was going to result in such drama - nobody had told me i couldnt do this in store but obviously my fault for not reading the fine print. Had a text from the chap i sold it to on Gumtree saying he had tried to sell it on Music Magpie last week and they "red-flagged" it as having finance on it so were holding it and would only send it back to its rightful owner (not me OR him) Contacted Brighthouse, they did their standard "This is selling stolen goods and we are reporting you to the police" etc.etc. Contacted Music Magpie - No response. Phoned BH head office, then the store, then head office. I was pushed from one to the other with no resolution in sight. Unbelievably the irate man who I had sold the phone to seemed to have had more luck and set something up for MM to return the phone to BH. Ive seen an email from MM to him today saying they are sending it back to BH by courier. Called head office, they said talk to the store for an update, called the store and was told they would not be speaking to me any further about my account and to speak to head office. I have asked both if the phone being returned to Brighthouse meant my account could be closed and neither would give me an answer on this (bounced from one to another of course). Ive paid about 6 months out of 18 months of this off but happy to call it quits if thats possible. Has anyone had any experience of this and what the likely outcome is going to be? Surely they cannot keep the phone and continute to charge me andthey state on the website that you MAY be able to return goods with no further payments to make. Either way though, Brighthouse are no longer answering any of my questions - literally outright refusing and the store/HO playing me off one another, no response from MM either. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Cheers guys!

I have been harassed by a neighbor because I wont be his friend. I am from a domestic violence background came out of a refuge and I am an attractive woman in my 20s with mental health issues of anxiety and depression (also recently diagnosed with PTSD due to current events) The HA placed me between two older men, this wouldnt usually be a problem but they both became obsessed with me. I had to tell both of them to please stop knocking on my door, I am private. This is when the false noise complaints from downstairs firstly came however I wasnt the victim because he was elderly means he automatically will be believed despite having noise recorders with no evidence and me going out my way to put thick underlay and carpet which nothing in my tenancy states I must do so still I was apparently harassing him with noise. when I told upstairs to leave me alone and not knock on my door he would purposely make noise. He use to pretend to be someone from outside by ringing my doorbell because I never answered when he knocked on my flat door. I found this really weird and after he knocked on my door for about 20mins I told him to leave me alone, he was only knocking to ask me personal questions. After I complained about upstairs noise this is when his counter claims came to avoid prosecution. Said I threw things on his door and slammed doors. Agin he has noise recorders and nothing. I however had noise recorders and it stated he made loud bangs like I said however the HA did nothing and suggested rugs. The neighbor upstairs was also caught liasing with the one below me to make up complaints about me, which was admitted by the one downstairs to the manager (now the manager hates me she is denying he ever admitted this to her) the manager was fine with me until she spoke to the man above then suddenly she turned against me, I have no idea what I did to her but she started to ignore my complaints and be really rude to me on the phone. She also denied he not allowed laminated flooring and cannot provide me with the apparent previous tenancy which states he can have laminated flooring. the HA have been blocking me from going to the Housing ombudsmen by longing out my complaints and not allowing me to escalate or give me replies. This neighbor however went on to key my car, write die on my flat door, push me (when I was pregnant), kick my door whilst threatening me, put dog poop on my car handle and make several false complaints about me. I got the police involved who were useless to the point I made a complaint about them this they did not like then their harrassment against me came. I asked for the neighbour to be issued with A Harrasment order and the police reluctantly did so. However around a week later i was also issued with one based on his false complaints. I have challenged this, how is this proper procedure? The police gone on to make false claims I making reports to crimestoppers about the neighbour and told the HA this. the police also have come to my address several times banging on my door and invited me for an interview on neighbor false allegations. The police tried to bring charges against me for court. However when it got to court even the CPS said it is clear I am the victim due to the amount of calls and dates ect and they told the court they did not want to pursue the case against me as it is very one sided and seems like a witch hunt. Even the prosecution saw what was going on. of course the police did not like this because I still have a complaint against several officers with strong evidence of harassment and breaches of the law and data protection. However now after some weeks the police have again come to my address this morning to "deliver" me a letter from the housing associaiton, since when are police used as personal post men for housing associaitons? I know the HA manager was .... I never got convicted or it even went to court, she hates me and wants me out and I know the police are also .... I do not know what this letter is but I am guessing an ASBO because they can issue these based on the police word and HA word alone. If it is this how do I challenge this? The HA manager I have a complaint against her with several organisations due to her breach of data protection and harrasment against me so she is also trying it with me. The HA or the police wont even let me present my strong evidence or prove my innocence that this neighbor is a liar, they dont even care they just want to shut me up for complaining about things they have choosen to do which are against the law and human rights rather then just deal with the case against the neighbor. I know they are trying to break me but I cannot lie it is working, I am broken. I feel like maybe I should of just given into this mans advances because then I wouldnt even be going through this and despite sending them proof of my medical evidence they refuse to move me, they want me out. It is bullying and I do not know where to turn because they are blocking everything. (there is another thread on here from 2011 which someone else complained about this HA and their bullying tactics so I know I am not alone) I know I need to stay strong but it is hard, they are now trying to issue with me an ASBO which means even on medical grounds I cannot move because before i couldnt move because i had "court proceeding" against me, now I dont they need to make something else so i cannot move and the complaints about me keep coming or I break and leave and be homeless. I hold a lot of paper evidence, witnesses and recordings. I have several complaints with the professional standards with police. I have a complaint with the housing ombudsome who obviosuly cannot help until The HA complaints has finished I have a complaint with the ICO due to data protection breaches By them issuing me with an ASBO I can go to prison and since the man makes false complaints it is likely i will so another way to get me out and ruin my life.

I received an NIP in late August early September for doing 36 mph in a 30 mph zone in July,got flashed by van. I admit that it was my fault and completed the document accordingly giving all of the required information and posted the form back to the relevant authority awaiting to hear what my punishment would be:|. I heard nothing until receiving a letter from the authority yesterday with my name incorrectly stated, requesting that I complete another NIP due to the fact that the original NIP was addressed to my company name as I operate from home as a sameday courier and my vehicle is leased. The covering letter from them states as follows: 'Thank you for returning the completed combined Notice of Intended Prosecution/Request for driver identity in response to the request by Sussex Police to supply information under section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. Unfortunately you have completed the form in a way that does not satisfy the lawful request for information made by Sussex police. The reason for this is that the document was not addressed to you personally i.e. it was addressed to another person or a company. The person or company are required to nominate the driver at the time of the offence and then return the document back to Sussex police. On receipt of the combined Notice of Intended Prosecution/Request for driver identity,this office would send a request personally addressed to you as the driver,which must then be completed and returned. Therefore please find enclosed a new document now in your name,which you are required to complete and return within the specified period.' My point is that they admit to already having all my details on the original NIP form which I completed in good faith,it is not my fault that their letter was incorrectly addressed and I have never been in this situation before. I am inclined to return this 2nd NIP incompleted with a covering letter explaining my position as I fail to see why I should complete same again due to their incompetence. As I said they already have my details which I have fully disclosed so how can they accuse me of committing the offence of non disclosure if I return the 2nd NIP blank ?? Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated:-D

A bit about myself: I live in Scotland, am a middle aged divorcee with Multiple Sclerosis who has (or had, before now) a completely clean record. Last week I came home find a card through my door from the police informing me that they had called to speak to me and would I please contact PC Thingumajig to arrange a time to talk regarding 'an ongoing investigation'. I had no idea what this could be about and my medical condition leaves me embarrassingly prone to panic reactions in even the most innocuous out-of-the-norm situations. I immediately started panicking that I had done something illegal to warrant the police at my door but after talking it out with a friend we concluded that perhaps I had witnessed something that the police were investigating as I don't live in the best area. I phoned the PC and arranged to come in the next day to see him but completely spaced on asking why he needed to speak with me. When I got to the police station I was taken into a small room with only a table and three chairs, PC Thingumajig asked me to sit down and as he sat in front of me and pulled out his notebook a second PC came in behind him and closed the door. I started to get a little shaky as it was quite intimidating (this second PC was vaguely familiar to me as one that had treated a friend of mine particularly badly last year). I was shocked and stunned when I was told that I had been accused by the local Boots of shoplifting a mascara the previous week. I told them that I had not but as I was in full panic mode at this point I could not really digest the information they were giving me. They told me that they had witnesses who had seen me take it and had followed me out of the store and through the shopping mall, as well as CCTV footage of the incident. They were quite frankly not interested in any explanation I had for what had occurred on the two occasions that I recalled being in the store over recent weeks. When I told them of my medical condition and its effect on my memory (particularly in stressful situations) as the reason why I could not remember the day in question, the intimidating one immediately latched on to this as an explanation for my thieving ways and would not let it go. My record was checked and since it was clean I was told they could issue an official police warning or if I wanted to contest they would charge me and send it to the PF who would decide whether to take it to court or not. By this time I was so distressed and confused I was beginning to doubt my OWN honesty so I agreed to the warning in order to avoid the stress and pressure of the long drawn out legal procedure which could have had devastating consequences for my health. The warning was issued as well as a ban from Boots stores (I will never be darkening their doorstep again in any event - physically or digitally). Since that time I have been so stressed I have had panic attacks when I enter the shopping mall where I do volunteer work once a week, am prone to crying uncontrollably, have been unwilling to leave my home and unable to socialise with my friends. The stress has also had a deleterious effect on my health by worsening the symptoms of my MS. I have only recently been able to look at the warning notice and comprehend the date of the alleged incident which was almost exactly a week prior and, now that I can ponder it with a clear head, I DO recollect the day in question as I was re-starting art classes on that date. I DID enter the store more than once (a point they made repeatedly) as I had wanted to print a photo from my phone and, because their machine's USB was not recognising my device, I used the USB from my portable charger and accidentally left it in their machine. I had returned a couple of hours later to retrieve it. Since the photo printer is at the opposite end of the store from the make-up section I have no idea why they think I pocketed a mascara but since I was nowhere near that area of the shop (except to enter and leave) I have no idea why I have been accused of this crime - the only thing I pocketed in the store was my own property! Is there any way I can get the store to at least apologise for humiliating me and can I get the police to rescind the warning? Do they not have to stop me AT THE TIME instead of waiting a week to apprehend? Should I be worried as to how the police got my name and address? The only way I can think is to have accessed my prescription history at the pharmacy. They wouldn't let me see the CCTV footage either when I asked and I'm pretty sure the Data Protection Act gives me that right. I would really appreciate any advice I can get.

as the title says, I need some advice. Last night I was playing taxi service to my Mum, a small price to pay for the 17 years she did it for me. On my way I came to a mini roundabout slowing down as, the left turning is blind and I could see headlights. The car then jumped into the wrong lane cut the mini roundabout and caught my car, scraping the front bumper with the side of his car. I was about 2 feet away from the give way lines on the roundabout. It was then the pursuing police car came shooting past, pursuing the other car. After stopping and checking on the people in the car behind me, as they were a bit shocked but not hurt or anything, having a cigarette. I called the police, they told me the vehicle was uninsured and based on what they said I don't think they caught the driver either. my question is, what do i do next? I know if I claim on my insurance, I'm going to end up paying increased premiums due to some little (won't say the next word) who was breaking the law. Is there anything or anyone else, do the police hold any liability due to them pursuing at speed in a 30 mph speed limit?

It has been suggested that police women in the west midlands police force may be allowed to wear the Burka. Am I the only one that thinks that the person who thought of this has something seriously wrong with them..

I'm writing on behalf of my son who was recently dismissed for Gross Misconduct from his employer because he tackled a thief that was trying to run out of the shop with some goods (which, apparently, contravenes one of their policies). We're currently going through the appeals process. My son has given a statement to the police and may be asked to appear in court as a prosecution witness. I've spoken with acas, who have been very helpful and, because my son has less than 2 years employment, cannot claim unfair dismissal, only wrongful dismissal. My son has never been trained or given access to the employer's group policies and procedures. I could go into more detail, but find it absolutely bizarre that he has been sacked for what he thought was doing the right thing (protecting the employer's assets). Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Hope someone can help here. On Saturday I was out with my brother getting fuel and he asked if he could drive my car quickly. I very stupidly said yes and drove to an area I know to have very small amounts of traffic. We swapped seats and I told him to just leave the car park and drive 100ft or so pull into a side road and turn around and come back. He took a wrong turn and ended up on a main road and I told him to just be as sensible as he can and get to the safest place to stop which entailed driving to a roundabout 100m away and taking the first exit, which is a closed road. As he did a police van slowed down to see what was happening because we were stopped. They then approached and I got out the car and explained that my brother was still a learner driver and I let him drive very briefly because he is buying the car from me in a few months time. I then said to the officer "He took a wrong turn and I told him to carefully drive to here because it was the safest place to pull over." The officers took our details and told my brother he was being reported for driving without L plates and without insurance, and I was reported for not having him on my insurance and not being old enough to supervise him. I'm 20. I asked what would happen next and the officer said that it would go to the CPS and they would decide what to do. I was issued a HORT1, with it saying to give in my insurance papers, and the officer said they had been lenient as they could of seized the car. I thanked them for that and headed on my way. This morning I went to the station with the papers and the slip and the woman thought it was strange i'd been issued one when my details were on the database. When I asked if anything more will happen or if I will get anything through the post she said "No that's it. The form will go to the officer and that's that". My Mum and Step Dad seem to think we have both gotten off lightly but i've read online that I might get something through the post still. So my questions are; 1. Who will get it worse for the offences mentioned? 2. Will my brother be unable to get a license because of this? 3. Is it possible that we have gotten off lightly here and they have been sympathetic? 4. When should I expect something through the post? 5. Should I have been issued some sort of offence code because I've had nothing and nor has my brother. And lastly, yes it was a very stupid thing to do. We are both shaken up and wouldn't dream of doing something like that ever again. It put ours and others lives in danger and it's eating me up thinking about it all.

I've noticed the Police waiting around in the car park at our local Supermarket. It strikes me that parking enforcement ANPR cameras could be a useful source of intelligence. Does anyone know if this is being done? is there a Data Protection Act issue?

hi everyone i need help badly. a few days ago i was caught stealing at boots and the security guard lead me to their security room. inside, there is one female boots staff and another security guard from the shopping mall. total three of them. the security guard from boots asked me to take out whatever stuff i have stolen i did as told as i was too afraid. later on, he asked for my id and name and home address which i gave as well issued me with an RPL form. the amount i have stolen was £220 i know its so stupid i stole 4/5 perfumes thats why the amount is expensive. he called the police police came and searched my bag found another item i had stolen from another stall. i cant lie because the tag is still on and i have no receipt. the police took me to custody at police station. first all my items are being emptied from my bag and jacket and all the police found another item in my jacket which i totally forgot about it i was so scared i keep begging her but no use i was asked if i need a solicitor the police and the surgeon kept saying whether or not i have the surgeon decision is not going to change. i told them i dont need which i regret after i come back home i was asked questions by the surgeon and lead to a cell room which i was lock. after an hour or so the police come and told me they are going to my house and check my room and state this is always the case for stealing. i was so worried another hour has pass in the cell room and finally she is back she said my room doesnt look suspicious and she commented i always have tea in room? later on she interview me with a recording and then ask me lots questions. i admitted of stealing at two stores afterwards, my dna and photo (front and side views) as well as my finger prints are all taken and recorded i was told by the surgeon that my case will be a caution (is that called caution?) and i can go home. no action will be taken and the polices just told me not to do silly things anymore and they say i might receive letter from boots thats all. i assume that will be the RPL lettter? im so scared: will my housemates know what letter that is? is there any sign showing that letter is from RPL? also, will i be fine??? btw im above 20 years old. I need help people. i couldnt sleep for nights and keep having bad dream about it. what shall i do. someone help me please

Two days ago my niece asked me to look at her 9 year old daughters laptop as it had locked up and was asking for money to be unlocked. She said it happened while she was watching a YouTube video of Britains Got Talent. What she had was a particularly nasty virus known as 'Ransomware'. It locks the computer and demands money to 'unblock' the computer so it can be used again. Like most, this one came in the guise of an official site with lots of police badges and the name Metropolitan Police, it accused her of distributing child porn and wanted £100 to be paid by Paypoint. Luckily at her age, she isn't aware of what kiddie porn is but the police references and the menacing voice demanding over and over that she must pay £100 fine did scare her. I class this as Fraud and Blackmail, but the authorities aren't interested. There are at present a couple of men in the North in prison for doing this sort of thing. On contact with the Police, they weren't interested and said 'we don't have anything to do with that any longer and to ring Action Fraud. I rang Action Fraud, who is the government sponsored department that deals with cyber crime and was given a crime number and then bye bye. No attempt was made to ID the culprit nor any questions asked or requests made to send them details. That brings me to make the statement that this, (like most other Government departments), is useless and not worth the money they are costing us.

I really need some advice. Last night night I was caught shoplifting at Boots. I was detained by LP and they advised they had been watching me for a months, maybe even a year, and knew I had stolen other items. The LP guy said I had only got lucky that he had never been on duty to catch me. I did not have any photo ID so he was going to call the police but eventually decided not to after I'd explained my situation. He took my debit card details, train pass details (it has my photo but isn't official ID) and accepted a letter I had in my bag from Stepchange as proof of my address. He took a photo of the address section. Basically, I've been shoplifting makeup items from there for a while, probably is a year. I work in the financial services industry and they've recently brought in annual credit checking for financial soundness. I am in a lot of debt and do have multiple defaults and a CCJ. I was completely honest on these checks but my manager said that going forward, I must show I'm repaying more of my debts than I have been otherwise they can't prove I'm financially sound and this could affect my job. I'm quite into makeup myself so I know the value of items. I stupidly thought it would be easy to steal some makeup items, these are from more high end brands rather than the cheaper items, and sell them on via a friend I have from school who is into all sorts of dodgy stuff and was quite happy to take these items and give me a cut, which I've been using to pay off more of my debts. I started doing it with the intention that I'd only do it a few times and then try find another way to make money but it was so easy that it carried on. When LP questioned me he did say he could see I'm a genuine person and that I'm not the usual 'type' they catch, which I'm assuming means I'm working and not a drug addict or something. He completely believed me, which was helped by the fact I had the Stepchange letter in my bag which I had with me as I needed it earlier in the day to show my manager at work - I was advised to contact Stepchange as it's a recognised place of support by my company. He took my photo and details, said I was banned from all Boots stores for life, and then gave me one of the RLP leaflets. I've read people don't usually pay these fines but I fully intend to because in my case, the store is out of pocket as they were only able to recover the item I was trying to steal yesterday but they know I've done it before as he was able to go into detail about certain items I know I've stolen, even right down to how I concealed them and the aisles I was in at the time. He escorted me outside and we stood for a long time talking. He was absolutely lovely and not at all threatening. He started off by saying that even though I wasn't arrested, they could still 'crime' it because of all the other evidence and at the very least I'm looking at a big fine, which I fully expect and accept. I asked if there was any way I could pay a fine that day, which required me having to phone my elderly gran to beg for some money (and having to lie to her about the reason why as there's no way I could tell her what I'd done, she'd be sick with worry). She agreed to transfer me some money there and then and after I got off the phone to her, I was in tears in front of the LP (because it was the first time I'd ever lied to my precious gran). I hadn't noticed but the LP had also made a call to someone at the same time as I'd been speaking to my gran. He seemed to take pity on me in my pathetic state, and said not to get the money from my gran and that he would handle this himself and whilst I wouldn't avoid the fine, I shouldn't get a record. A criminal record would probably screw me over more than my credit file in terms of my job! Despite what he said, I'm still terrified they will change their mind and report this because of all the evidence they have, which I know they must have because of the detail they went into. I couldn't deny any of it. I feel so stupid and I know I will never be doing this again. I have literally exchanged one set of problems for another, not to mention increased my debt but that's the least of my worries right now. The LP told me he suspects I've had about a grand's worth of merchandise and he's probably not wrong. Can someone tell me if this is likely to be reported to the police, despite what he said? He did also take my phone number and said he'd be 'ringing it through' first thing today and I haven't had any calls, he seemed to be making reference to RLP when he was talking about the report but in my state at the time, I wasn't entirely sure and I left without asking a load of questions I should have. He was genuinely nice to me and said he has literally never done that before with any thief but could tell I'm a nice person who's been put into a very difficult situation. He told me to 'sort myself out' and not see stealing as an answer to my debt problems. Aby help or advice out there? Thanks!

Hello, I was apprehended by security in primark yesterday after I left the shop. I went back into the detention room and he searched my bag. He brought out the items I hadn't paid for and called the police on me. I really do not have an excuse for this and I am greatly ashamed. I panicked and started crying and apologizing, even agreed to pay the £95, now I don't know how that value came by because I did some exchange and paid some money via my card, I was too distraught to challenge it but that is not even the problem. The security man collected my provisional driver's license, wrote down my details and passed it on to the police men when they arrived. One of the cops went with the security man while the other sat with me. I wouldn't exactly call it an interview, he questioned me gently and went through the things I had which were all baby clothes (I have a 2, month old) I told him I needed to call to make sure my baby was alright but he said I could only do that at the station. I broke down into tears again and he offered to call my mum who was watching my kids and tell her I was with the police but well and fine. I declined this offer cos I didn't want my mum to know anything about what was going on. She would have been very disappointed. The process seemed to be dragging and I told the cop I needed to be home to breastfeeding my baby, he said I would have to go in with them and it was going to take a few hours. I started crying again, he asked if I had ever had a run in with the police and I said no. He said the only help he could offer if my trace came back clean was to call his sergeant and get clearance for him not to take me into the station so I could get home soon. Now, so many little processes were followed by primarily staff, such as refunding my money, giving back my exchange... But they were all a blur as I was in a state by then. The police took my children's date of birth and said they were going to pass it on to ss to make sure they were all right and I could get a visit or not. I refused to do this at first cos they are innocent in all this. Secondly, I was taken into the van and heard him call his sergeant and said something about caution or process on the street, I'm not sure of the exact words. He read me my rights and basically said I won't be taken to court if I pleaded guilty. Which I did. What is this street processing or caution? Will it go on my records for life? 3rd, primark gave me a printout saying I should expect civil recovery. Again what and how will this be handled. Lastly, I was taken home by the police, they wanted to make sure my kids were ok, I requested that they wait in the hallway cos of my mum. He agreed to wait outside the door but held the door open with his feet. I brought them to him and they left. I have been unable to sleep and I've berated myself for this foolish act. What a great price to pay for something so silly. Sorry this is a long post, I wanted to include as much details as I can.

Hi everyone, newbie here needs some advice, i received fixed penalty from the police for being parked on dyl, i stay in a village actually its two villages that are joined, muirhead and birkhill, on the fixed penalty it says my car was seen in edward pl, birkhill, where it was edward place, muirhead , is this enough to cancel the ticket , thank you in advance, boab.

A bit of a strange experience today. I had to wait about 45 minutes for a train, I thought that I would do that inside the station concourse as I usually do. I decided to wait near some shops inside, all of which were closed. A security guard approached me, told me that he was closing the retail section of the station and asked me to move on. I did as instructed and, headed for one of the waiting rooms. After entering the gents, I noticed that he had followed me in there. He didn't seem to use the toilet. He just stood there watching me. I left and sat down at a seat in the waiting room, planning on getting some work done on my laptop, only to have him stand in front of me staring at me. I asked him what his problem was, but he didn't reply. I left the waiting room, hoping that he wouldn't follow me, but he continued to do so. I asked him to leave me alone, at which point a British Transport Police officer walked by and asked what was going on. The security guard told him that the station was closing and that I was refusing to leave. I explained to the BTP that the station was still open for over two hours as I knew the time of my last train home. BTP then asked the security guard if I had been asked to leave the station, to which the reply was 'Yes'. I explained that I had been asked to leave the retail section, not the station, and that I had done as instructed. At this point the BTP asked to see my rail ticket. I showed it to him and he claimed that it was invalid. I claimed that it wasn't. The dispute was then taken to a revenue protection officer, who decided to issue me with a penalty fare as, despite the station I was at being the station I had to change at to get home, the ticket didn't permit me to wait inside the concourse for 45 minutes. Apparently I should have left and stood outside the station before returning to catch my train. My ticket was confiscated and I was left with a long walk home. I'm not really sure what to make of this as three members of rail staff appear to have got it all horribly wrong. What can I do from here though?

Hi everyone, apologies if this has been asked before - i did search i wonder if someone could offer some advice please? Totally out of character I shoplifted some items from a shop and was ultimately caught. I know it was incredibly stupid, I've never done anything like that before. The police were called and they questioned me in the security office. Im in my 30s and I have never been in trouble with the police before. They cautioned me and escorted me off the premises. [Edit: the police actually took my home as they said they needed to confirm who I was. They said since the only ID had was a provisional licence and sometimes people move without updating licence. The picture on the licence is 9 years old so i do look slightly different now - another reason to take me home. I still live with my parent & officers came in to check I was who i said I was. I lied to my dad saying i was a witness to car accident & police kindly dropped me of so they could confirm details. Police had said they wouldnt mention the theft to my dad. How pathetic that at 30 I'm terrified my dad will find out ] The police said they will send a report to the Procurator Fiscal who will decided how to proceed. Can anyone offer advice on what I can expect to happen. I know what I did was stupid & i feel awful about the who incident so please i don't need judgements just advice please. i am sick with worry about this. Thanks

Halloween me and a couple of mates went to a party. We were all really really drunk, I got was being stupid with some random boy and ended up slapping him but we sorted it out after I had apologised and it was done however hours after the police had arrived because two people got stabbed and instead of arresting anyone else I was arrested because of that boy. I've been on bail since then for ABH but the police said the boy has bruises on his face which is common assault not ABH. In the interview I didn't admit to anything, I said we had a little argument but i can't remember hitting anyone. They have asked me to go back to the station today I'm a little nervous as I'm a first time offender never had a problem with the police and never really had a fight before (I'm 17). What should I do about this/ what will happen to me?

I need an urgent advice please. I originally lived in Hampshire a few months a go I moved to Birmingham for a new temporary job, rent a place there and failed to update the address on my car insurance. Even though I was fully insured with the option to drive other vehicles the police invalidated my insurance on the spot and seized my car. The policeman advised that the MIB cancelled the insurance. I now received a letter where I need to choose between guilty (£300 fine and 6 points) or not guilty and go to court. They treat me like someone who had no insurance at all. I called the MIB on 01908 830001 and they said that they have no power to cancel an insurance policy so I am confused about the whole situation and the right steps I need to take from here. Any advise would be very helpful please.

Hi, i was speeding on the motorway and wish t plead guilty and pay the appropriate £100 fine and take the 3 points. I have been waiting for the [/b]conditional offer of a fixed penalty notice[/b] It never came on the post?! Then I receive a postal requisition to be heard in court. Can I not contact NYP and state that i did not receive the offer of a fixed penalty notice? surely this is unfair to go straight to court if I haven't received the offer to pay via the fixed penalty notice. Any tips or forms or letters i can send as my response guys would be most appreciated? i want to pay plead guilty and have done with this but haven't had the bloody chance. We also live at a new house and our address is proving really hard to locate for many org/co. Lots of mail goes to another house half a mile up the road! Genuine reason and I want to clear this up and pay.

Hey guys, I'm really hoping someone can help give me some sound advice on Moneybarn. I took out a 3-year conditional purchase agreement with Moneybarn in Oct 2013. I pay £410 per month, and to date I've paid just shy of £9000 on a car that cost £9,400. The total amount to repay Moneybarn is around £14,000, and I am almost 2/3 rds of the way through the contract. Last summer, I broke my neck and explained to Moneybarn that because I'm self-employed my payments would be late until I recovered. I managed to get the money together for the three month's missed payments and I offered to pay the arrears, plus all charges (reasonable or otherwise), but Moneybarn insisted on issuing a consent order to allow me to keep the vehicle. Reluctantly I agreed, but instead of issuing a consent order, Moneybarn obtained a CCJ against me without my knowledge (I was living abroad and they were aware of this). When I found out, I sent them a strong legal letter, and managed to persuade them to have the CCJ set aside and replaced with the consent order. in early 2015 I found myself in possession of the vehicle under a consent order that allowed Moneybarn to repossess the car should I miss any further payments. However, I fell into work problems in May, and this time missed two payments. To cut a long story short, Moneybarn would not allow me to catch up on the arrears and insisted on repossessing the vehicle instead. It's now been 4 months since the first missed payment, and they eventually said I could keep it if I paid recovery charges - but no recovery has been made! When I refused to pay this, they said if I didn't hand over the vehicle this week they will call the police because it's their property and it's stolen. I do have a brain between my ears and have done extensive research myself, which leads me to confidently conclude they can't do this, but my question really is would I be able to apply for a time order and argue the repossession charge, given that the vehicle is subject to a consent order initiated by the creditor? Having paid off the actual price of the vehicle and with only 1/3rd of my contract outstanding, it's heartbreaking to have to hand over the car now - especially after all I've been through with Moneybarn. Any sound advice or experience in this area would be much appreciated and thanks for reading

Whilst searching for my usual weird things I was searching and found that Sussex Police are stating that an EA can still enter by using a window, shame they have this so wrong, maybe a quiet word in their shell like would be great, see the bailiff section on their site or read here ... The link was edited by the system so have used this link instead http://www.sussex.police.uk/admin-section/search.aspx?searchtext=bailiffs They have posted up some allegedly useful info for those facing an EA, this is the first time I have seen this on a Police website so I will see how many others do this and what they state. It also states correctly that they must not use the thresh-hold method either... There are several sections on their site re the EA...
