  1. Hello all. I've never had any debts before so not really sure how to deal with my situation so if anyone could give me a few pointers I would be very grateful. I have a debt with PayPal for around £800 (completely my fault and don't dispute it in the slightest). I did email PayPal a few times stating that although I accepted the debt, I couldn't afford to pay it all off in one go as they wanted. The contents of my emails were ignored and I just had a standard 'return your balance to zero immediately' making no mention to my email. Anyway, this morning, I received a letter from a debt collection agency (Iqor) and to be honest I'm terrified. They are telling me I need to repay them immediately or they will pass it to their legal department and may arrange for someone to visit me at home. I really don't want some debt collector turning up at my home as i only work next door so someone from work could see / hear them. Does anyone know how likely Iqor would be to agree to a repayment plan if I was to ring them and tell them I can't afford it in one go - £50 a month say? Thanks for any help.
  2. I was contacted by iqor concerning £328.36 supposedly owed to Lloyds TSB. I wrote saying that I did not acknowledge any 'debt' to iqor and asking for verification of the allegeddebt. I have had a reply from iqor staing " we comfirm the above balance is correct"-How? also the statement starts in Augest 2007 with a starting balance of £250 overdrawn! so no indication of how I came to be overdrawn, has anyone else had any similar experiences ?
  3. Hello i'm new here, just joined actually, i have a debt of £69 where i have been receiving letters and phone calls from Iqor demanding i pay. now after having no acknowledgement why i need to pay for this or what i'd done i researched a little on my eBay. won't go into details but i sold something for £69, he then messaged me saying he doesn't want it so he charged back via Paypal now i'm limited on Paypal eBay etc so i just left it no harm done. i'm still getting letters and phone calls and i have received one today saying they're coming to my doorstep to collect this £69 baring in mind i'm only 17 so all this is really confusing and just want abit more knowledge really Thanks alot!
  4. Can't see any mention of this anywhere, but of course may have missed it - it's an age thing. http://www.credittoday.co.uk/article/14891/online-news/capita-snaps-up-dca-in-42m-deal
  5. Hi guys, I'm new to this sort of stuff and unsure of what to do next with my current issue with paypal and Iqor. Any help is much appreciated. I sold a cricket bat online and received payment via paypal in the form of an e-cheque which I withdrew and spent as normal. I sent the cricket bat with a tracking number to the buyer and all seemed fine, until two months later (Oct 2012) I received an email saying the payment had been reversed to his bank account. So at this point I was £200 out of pocket, as well as a cricket bat. I rang paypal and said that it was fraudulent as I didn't authorise any payment to leave my account, and they told me that I didn't have to authorise it because the banks have that power. They just kept telling me I owed them £200 which I kept refusing to pay. I then queried their protection and they said that they don't protect any e-cheque payment to which I was rather angry at, even when I told them that this payment which was reversed was fraudulent as I had sold and sent an item to a buyer along with a tracking number. I then contacted action fraud and told them my situation and they gave me a crime reference number. I haven't heard anything back but they told me that nobody could collect any money from me whilst the case was open with a crime reference number. I then started receiving payment requests from Iqor a debt collection agency (in dec 2012) telling me that I need to pay the £200 even though I told them that it isn't my fault and I won't be paying because I have done nothing wrong. I told them I have a crime reference number and they went quiet for a few months until a week ago when started ringing daily in the early hours which Is starting to get too much. I know that it isn't a great deal of money but as a full time student I can't justify paying it, particularly when I know I haven't done anything wrong. Does anybody have any ideas to what I could do next? Thanks in advance
  6. Hi, Please can someone advise me as this debt company is ringing me 3 to 5 times per day as well as sending me threatening letters. I owed ebay £62 my account was suspended until I payed it but in meantime I received letter from this IQOR saying I owed £78 and demanded payment in full. I told them I couldn't pay straight away so asked when I would and that I had to ring them up and pay over phone. I decided to check my ebay account and noticed it had £62 and allowed me to pay ebay direct which I did. I have had this company on my back today 3 times saying I have to pay them the £16 I owe which I said I don't see why I had to pay them anything and had already settled my fees which ebay accepted. I have now been told by IQOR that they will be pursuing me for the £16. Please help can they do this and will I have to pay them as I'm now getting really scared I'm going to end up paying them even more if I'm took to court.
  7. Hi all, So I'm like many of you, I'm being hounded by letters from iQor and at the moment GPB Solicitors saying that I need to pay up for a debt from my Paypal Premium account that was closed before all of this arose. The debt is for around £2500, which is has been swindled from me - I'm not too sure what has happened because my account was closed before I could find out what Paypal/eBay had against my auction. At the moment I'm just ignoring their letters, should I carry on this way in the hope that they finally give up? Or should I actively be doing something about this because they do actually have some power against me? Many Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, Long story. I sold a mobile phone 4 months ago on ebay, i sent it recorded post as i know how easy it is for paypal to take money from you. I checked it was delivered fine as i was leaving to live overseas for a few months, and it was delivered fine. I came back today from overseas, to a debt collection letter from the company Iqor, stating i owe £137 to paypal and they will take me to court. I have logged into my paypal account and see the buyer of the phone opened a claim as he didn't receive the phone, when i actually have proof it was delivered. As i was overseas i didn't check my emails or paypal account as i didn't expect this to happen. i have called paypal, and they said, as the case has been closed theres not alot they can do, i can appeal the case, but theres not much chance i will win. i have done that, ive given the tracking number, and photos for proof of postage and am awaiting their reply. im guessing they wont be able to do anything. i need help, what can i do? Im not letting the debt collection agency take my money, as i am an honest person and have done nothing wrong, but i can't see another way out? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hello, My situation is that whilst selling on ebay some particular items to get some cash in my pocket I racked up some ebay charges, nothing big , around £60 But the items i was selling generated only around £200 at most. so i thought i would leave of paying the charges for a while, and well iv just never seemed to have the spare cash to loose, as im a student and barley have any cash to spare. But few months after my account was closed via ebay for not paying the fees I get a letter from IQOR asking me to pay the debt of the amount in ebay charges, with still not having 60 spare iv left it a few months and now they send a letter on the 24th recieved on the 28th about an IQOR door visit, where they will discuss how to arrange a payment back. Now my question is what can they really do? we all hear about the bailiffs and them barging open the door taking what they please for the amount, and well im seriously not prepared for that to happen or go court, but paying these ridicoulous costs at this time is something i just cant afford. even now ebay charges are ridiculous with 15% of the item is theres, then you get the tab for postage and ebay listing, when i finished i came out worse. any advice?
  10. Hello i am after some advice on an ebay dispute which also involves the collection firm iqor.Any advice would be great. i sold some collectible framed pictures to someone on ebay which fetched £4500. When the buyer received these goods he complained to ebay that he wasnt satisfied with them and wanted a refund. .ebay then stated for him to return the goods to me for a full refund, which i was totally fine with. However after a couple of days ebay had refunded the buyer and requested i reimburse them BUT i had not reeceived my goods back, i told ebay this but they said as a tracking number was provided they still wanted reimbursing. Obviously i looked into this and contacted the courier(parcelforce) who confirmed that the goods had been sent to a different address and not mine and provided me with the relevant documentation to prove this ..the signature on the tracking info was not even mine. i contacted ebay and emailed them all this documentation they rang me back saying they had also contacted parcelforce who confirmed to ebay that this evidence was correct. The person who rang then told me because of this she would be sending a request to ebays higher management for any reimbursement request to be cancelled due to the information i provided them. That was 6 weeks ago and every time i ring up they tell me that the request has still not been approved.. .in the meantime iqor the collection agency contacted me saying i need to pay the balance in full. .i explained to them the situation and said i would ring ebay immediatly to see what was happening .,i did this and ebay once again confirmed the request had not been decide yet. I then rang back iqor and told them this and they said they would put a hold on this issue for 2 weeks and see what happens ,that was 3 weeks ago and i have not heard back of them i contacted ebay today and yet again no updates about my reimbursement cancellation. So sorry about the long winded post but any advice on what i can do to finally get this resolved would be greatly greatly appreciated or what i should do next? Thank you

  12. Hi guys, Have an outstanding balance of £22.53 on my PayPal account, received a letter from IQOR saying that the debt had been passed onto them bla bla bla. I can still access my PayPal account, would I be to just pay it off on there? I can't see any reason why not but wanted some advice anyway. Cheers!
  13. Hello, I am in need of help and advice please. Unfortunately, my problem is one that I have not read documented before - so am unsure how to proceed. In a nutshell: an item was sold on ebay, monies received, it was collected, then after a payment review paypal takes monies away. Now, I have recently received a letter from iQOR relating to this debt. However, my circumstances differ in the following way: This was NOT a chargeback / refund / Buyer-instigated action; Paypal decided to refund the account holder for the amount as they did not respond to the payment review case (that Paypal opened). and: I managed to find another seller (with whom I contacted at the time of payment reviews), he had a CRR (Crime Reference Report) created and had his money back from Paypal. I am mentioned on this report. After Paypal took my monies away, I mentioned this report to them and have been awaiting their response to my appeal on their decision ever since. I have been told by them categorically that I should not repay the debt (or 'debt') until I have heard their outcome -, but now they have thrown this spanner in the works and I am unsure what to do. Unfortunately, I also sold some other items via eBay while the payment review was being investigated and so have repayed some of the debt by Paypal seizing the funds from my account. However, I am wondering whether the amount that iQOR say I owe them can be classed as 'not acknowledged' as it is the amount remaining not the amount taken via paypal money in my account (i.e. not the original amount)? My situation is a lot more complicated than this, but this is it in a nutshell. Sorry for the badly worded post!
  14. Hi I have received a demand from Iqor with regard to an old Ebay debt which I had forgotten about. I sent them a prove it letter and they have replied with instructions on how to log into a blocked account and view an invoice. When I followed the instructions The amount which Iqor are demanding differs from the amount stated by Ebay. Iqor say I owe £39,09 and Ebay say it's £31,09. There is also information on the account which says that the last payment was made on 04/03/2006. My question is, does this mean that because it has been more than 6 years since any form of acknowledgement, the debt is statute barred? Also, if not, should I just pay Ebay the £31,09 and tell Iqor where to get off? Thanks in advance JJ
  15. Hi Recently me my partner have received a letter from Iqor debt collection services its for the collection of money for a social loan we took out about 5 years ago and say we owe them about £1000 -£2000 pounds can't remember the exact amount. When my partner phoned them to set up a pyment the person on the phone asked about our income and expenditure which my partner gave them bacause at the time we did not know she was not allowed to ask this. ( Is there any action that can be taken for this?). She then decided that we have enough money left over to be able to pay £15 a week and that is all they would accept a week and was also told that our mobile bills don't come into it because they are a luxury so that didn't get accounted into the figure either. Do we have to pay the £15 a week or can we tell them how much we can pay, also is there a way for us to find out if we actually owe this because my partner phoned the DWP about the debt and they said they had no information because it was all passed to Iqor. please help. Thanks
  16. Hi. I had a debt with PayPal, I refuse to pay as I sent a tablet worth £500. I have told them flat out not paying it as this is fraud. This product was where the consumer picked the tablet up. They have put a dispute in and PayPal has put my balance into a negative position. Does anybody have any templates I can send iQor to tell them to go away legally.
  17. Hi, haven't been here in a while but wondered if someone could help me please. Credit Card pre 2006, arranged a pro rota agreement in 2006, and paid minimum amount, went to a debt collector, and arranged 20.00 per month. Last payment made was in 2011, and decided to request CCA with the DCA at the time. I rec'd a letter stating that payments had been made towards the debt however Lloyds have advised that they cannot provide a CCA as the debt is too old, and although unenforceable it is still owing. They went on to say that Lloyds have offered a settlement figure previously for half of the original debt, and this still stands. I took that as Lloyds did not fulfill there obligations under the CCA act and thought to thyself that if they were to take me to court then they'd be stupid just because of the admission. Have had a few DCA letters still attempting to chase the debt but I know of them so have ignored. However, Rec'd letter from iQor, .. . I ignored... but have now had letter from gpb working on behalf of iQor stating that they want payment within 10 days otherwise a county court claim may be issued without further warning. Now normally I'd egnore it, but I just needed someone advice as to wether the letter I had from the original DCA would be a defence in court if it did indeed go that far? Should I send a whole new CCA request? Or should I send a letter, including a copy of the letter from the original DCA I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot by assuming, so any advice would be much appreciated as they are demanding payment within ten days and gpb seem to be a legit solicitors. Thanks so much to anyone that can help. Red
  18. Hi Guys, I signed up to this forum since I dont really know what to do, hopefully you can help me out. I'm 16 years old and I have an ebay account in which I owe £304 to. I know im underage and did a very stupid thing where I sold something and forgot to ship it. Months later I was presented with a letter from iQor telling me I owe ebay the amount since my paypal didnt have enough to cover the refund since i wasnt sent. I also had many emails from ebay asking me to pay but I havent checked that email in a long while so I didnt notice. I think I can get the money soon (through selling my web creation services) , I dont want to tell my parents or family about this, what do you suggest I do? Thanks
  19. Today I received another letter from Iqor regarding a sainsburys visa card I do not and have never held. Supposedly issued by Bank of Scotland, contact was made with the bank in writing complaining about wrong info given to Iqor. Bank admitted they had made a mistake and Iqor were told of the error and would not contact me again. Bank also paid compensation for the error. Seems Iqor are totally stupid, can't read or understand instructions from clients as they are still contacting me. Very stern letter now en-route to Iqor and copy to Trading standards and FOS. Any further advice I can follow, Your comments would be appreciated.

  21. I haven't had any communication from IQOR but last week I came home to find a card from they saying they called but got no answer and advised me to call a mobile number (no name or ref). I haven't and since Saturday they have been calling (did a check on WhoCallsMe) when I was out but left no message. Should I respond or would it be disturbing hornet's nest? Thanks in advance. Lilly

  23. Hello, Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I have looked but can't find anything concrete. I'm trying to tackle two things with a defaulted sum of just over a grand (overdraft balance) with Lloyds. 1) Who actually owns my Debt ? I've fended off IQOR who doorstep visited, wrote to them to tell them I don't ackowledge that I owe the debt to them, and asking for them for proof of ownership of the debt_ that was 28th May and they seem to have gone quiet for now (early days though). I also wrote to Lloyds 28th May, and asked them to confirm if the debt had been sold and who to. I have had a vague response, saying the debt has been "passed on" to "thier agents" IQOR, that they are dealing with the account on Lloyds "behalf" and that all correspondance should be directly with them, a postal address was then supplied for IQOR. then a statement saying "if you wish to make a payment today using either my debit or credit card then please contact us on the above number", the only number on the letter is LLoyds tel. no. (I think that might be a bit of standard text from the consumer debt recovery department there, but it's very misleading !) My credit file says Lloyds NOT Iqor next to the default. Am I right in thinking that whoever's on my Credit file "owns" the debt - i.e. Lloyds I am confused because Lloyds letter is implying that they can still collect on the debt and ask me to ring them, but they have told me only to communicate with Iqor inplying that it has actually been sold to them. I've looked in other posts and Iqor do buy debts and could possibly own the debt now, in which case I think I'm right in saying that my credit file is wrong as it should have been updated to say Iqor and also that Lloyds can't ask me to ring them. Also if it has been sold, then I think that Lloyds should have written to me notifying me of this. 2) The second issue I'm trying to tackle (which I included in my letter to Lloyds 28th May, but they have not ackowledged at all to date), is that I don't think a valid default notice was issued, (plenty were issued for new amounts every time they gave me an unplanned overdraft to cover the interest fees from the previous unplanned overdarft they gave me, but not for the amount that I've been defaulted for that is on my file). I wasn't issued a termination notice before my account was closed either. But I'll tackle this once I know for sure who owns the debt. If Lloyds don't own the debt anymore then am I right in thinking they can't collect on it ? (assuming I'm successful in getting the default removed) any advice is appreciated, Lloyds are being vague, Iqor have dissappeared (for now, but I gather they are persistent) and I am not expecting them to communicate in any meaningful way regarding proving that they own the debt (if they do).
  24. I have just had a person from Iqor call at my home stating that I owe the DWP £500. and wanting to know how I was going to pay. The DWP contacted me 3yrs ago and said that I owed this money from 2003. When I telephoned them and asked what it was for they told me they did not know, but probably an overpayment of some kind! I asked then to send me proof that the money was owed, and details of what it was from. They agreed to do this, and I never heard anymore. I told the person from Iqor this, but they were just interested in how I was goin to pay!! They are now expecting me to phone them with bank details to pay monthly. What should I do. Thanks.
  25. Hi, we opened 2 Halifax accounts about 18 months ago. One was the Ultimate Rewards account and the other was a basic savings account. Because we were switching banks they gave us £250 overdraft on both accounts. When we opened the accounts we where honest with them, and told them that we didn't expect to be accepted for the Ultimate Rewards account because we live on benefits. We are in receipt of, DLA, care allowance, income support, child benefit and child tax credits as well as HB and CTB. We managed to go into our overdrafts and with the charges every month never managed to get out of them, to the point where we had to move our money back to Natwest as we just could not afford to have the charges taken out of our money every month. We have been getting letters and phone calls from Halifax for a few months now, we have ignored them as we are not in a position to clear the debts at the moment. We have every intention of clearing them as soon as we can. We received letters last week telling us that somebody would be calling us tomorrow (not sure if it is a home visit or a telephone call), and we a wondering how we go about claiming the charges back using the hardship process. If we can reclaim the charges we could easily settle these account. Can somebody point me in the right direction please.
