  1. Hi,just about to submitt my claim to Nat West and would appreciate any advice you guys can provide. Inital loan for £10000 was taken out in 2003 with one off payment of PPI of £2405, repayable over 5 years. I don't have any paperwork for this loan so don't know what the interest rate was. Refinanced in 2005 with a loan of £11500 to pay off original loan. PPI loan of £2806, interest 7.3%, again over 5 years. I have the agreement for this loan which luckily I was able to pay off early in 2007. Second loan amounted to £17038.20 in total with interest and ppi. Can't remember what i paid as the final settlement figure. What I need to know is, do I have to submit 2 different claims for each loan or can I submit it as one? How do I calculate roughly what I'm owed if I don't know the interest rate for the first loan? Thanks
  2. Hey I received an offer today from HSBC which i am happy with. The offer refers to 2 loans which were settled in 2005 and 2008. I however defaulted on a seperate loan in 2010 and the majority of the balance remains outstanding. They have stated the monies will be used to pay off some of the outstanding debt. Can they do this? After all the PPI reclaim relates to a closed account? The account still outstanding remains with HSBC though i have had a third party DCA write to me. Any advice is appreciated
  3. Hi All, I was advised by Northern Rock to take out a mortgage paysafe plan in 1988. The plan was with the Provincial Insurance Co who were taken over by UAP in 1994 and they were taken over by AXA in 1997. I have asked AXA for contact details in order to submit a claim and they advise i contact the Provincial Insurance Co??????..... .....i would if they were still around!!!!! Has anyone got contact details for AXA please or am i better off claiming against Northern Rock (Virgin). Thank you. Wilfy
  4. Hello to you all this is my first post on the forum so be gentle if i ask a daft question i have had lloyds tsb credit card since 1982 , apparently , i have had three according to my letter received today. I have sent in a PPI consumer questionaire . i have received today a letter telling me that i didnt take out a PPI insurance policy and that they will not go any further with it unless i prove differently. I checked an old statement of mine and on the back in 'USEFUL INFORMATION' 3rd row down, it reads ''your monthly payment will pay off your interest and payment protection premiums first' Now as i have said i am new to all this and this question could well have been asked before but is there anything i could do from this point. Am i being fobbed off basically and if not what is my next move. Any guidance would be most appreciated Thanks for taking the time to read my post
  5. Afternoon All. Just a quick question on PPI Claims. My friend filed a PPI Claim with [edit] and last week received a refund for over £3,500 it was with a MBNA credit card, but looking on there website they charge 25% plus VAT. He told me he filled in basic paperwork and got refund in 9 weeks, i no there is alot of people putting claims in them selves, and is it easy to do? Maybe if anyone has a basic template or something to them lines to help me file a PPI case myself rather then paying 25% the above company charge on a won case. Any information would be grateful Regards Daz
  6. Hi could you please advise if I should attempt a claim for refund of PPI on Credit Card. I looked on their site today and their is a link to a form to fill in to send to them to look into any claim. I applied for an AOL Credit Card in 2001. I have a copy of the application form and I did tick Yes to accept PPI. On the employment section I selected Employed and blacked out self employed, which i had originally ticked. (I was and still am Director of my own Ltd Company) and I dont know if that counted as Employed or Self Employed. I may have called up the contact number to discuss with them what I should put, but I cant remember. I had only started this 'employment' 4 months before taking out the card, which is indicated on the form. There is nothing there about pre-existing conditions, of which I have some, but whether they would affect insurance Im not sure. At some point in time, 2 years ago at least, they suspended my account, I assume because I was up to my limit for ages and was just paying back minimum and they saw me as a risk. I think, around that time I called them because my PPI repayment was the same every month which I found strange (as its a % of the balance) and they told me that was because the insurance only covered a maximum of , I think , 15,000 and I was way over that. I asked if I was covered as I was director of my own company and they said no, but I would be eligible for the sickness part, so I cancelled the unemployment part, and continued with the sickness part, which was substantially less. It may have even been a separate insurance that they replaced the old one with, but it was a lot less per month. I subsequently cancelled that sickness cover also. I am not in arrears, and am making payments every month. I may have made one or two late payments over the 11 years I have had the account Im not sure. Thanks for any help!
  7. Apologies if this subject has already been covered but I couldn't find the information. I had PPI on a loan that I have now paid off. Have seen in a couple threads that you can fill in a claim form and send this back to Tesco, could anyone tell me where to find this form? Or how to go about a claim from scratch? Many thanks in advance
  8. Hi, I am totally new to this, and finding the various and complicated threads difficult to follow or use as an example for me to use! I know that I am entitled to a claim for missold PPI as it was made clear to me by HSBC that my consolidation loan would NOT be granted unless I took out their PPI. This was despite my assertions that it wasn't needed due to me having full sickness and redundancy fall backs with my employers L & G I just want to get my money back - how do I start and what is the easiest and quickest way to get success? Any help whatsoever that anyone can give me will be very much appreciated!
  9. I am finally starting with my PPI claims, starting with Lloyds TSB, its not a huge amount, but every penny counts right. The payments are from as far back as 2001, on my bank statements there are payments to Pinnacle Insurance but I can't remember what this is for, I am sure its for a loan, does anyone recognise what this might be for? On my credit card I was paying Cardholder Protection Plan, the amount that was paid varied according to the balance, so I am not sure how I calculate the interest, can anyone help on this? I have attached my spreadsheet V LloydsTSB PPI.xls

  11. Good afternoon, I have received nearly £3000.00 from MBNA for mis-sold PPI. No doubt, Link will be after me, but no offset suggested from MBNA, so Link can keep chasing - until they make me a reasonable f&f offer). Cheque banked today so donation making its way to CAG on Friday - (Site Team - donation link please) Have many more hurdles til they've all complied, and still have charges to go for, but want to say thanks for all help so far - Ims, Slick, Brig, citB (and all caggers) you're the best.
  12. Hi all, I have PPI on a loan and a store card from 2002 and 2001. Can I claim a refund or is there a time limit?
  13. I had an egg credit card from 1999 to 2003, at the end of last year it was moved to Barclaycard. In 2003 i cancelled the PPI. It is so long that I cant be 100% sure why, but I think it was because I had been unaware that I had even had it up to that point. Although cannot be certain. I am unsure if I applied for the credit card online or over the phone, but think it was probably online, do Barclaycard have to tell me which method I used and whether it was one of the opt out tick boxes? I phoned b'card to commence a claim and they have now written to me asking for me to complete an FOS questionaire, because its so long ago I'm not sure how to answer this questionaire. They have stated that if i Do not complete this they will use the information they have to decide on my claim. Am I best to allow them to do this?? Now the matter is with Barclaycard are they paying out properly, where Egg wasn't always? Any advice on what to do next?
  14. Hi Ladies and Gents, well, I sent a claim to Barclaycard regarding a Mastercard and Visa which I took out way back in 1995. One of the cards was closed in 2004, the other in 2005 but I thought I've got nothing to lose by sending a letter, so off I went. I'm lucky that I still have my letters received when I closed these accounts as well as letters from the Insurers. I also have a report from Checkmyfile from a few years back so all my dates for these accounts are in order. I would certainly recommend to everyone on CAG using this and Experian for checking on your debts and outgoings, I've found them invaluable. Anyway, this and my other claims for mis-selling are based on the fact I have a pre-existing medical condition (Diabetes, I'm on Insulin) which I've suffered for 34 years. I've never been asked and its certainly never been put forward that any claim could be rejected due to my condition. I've sent 2 letters to Barclaycard the first request in March giving them the 8 weeks allowed to reply, then in May a second giving a further 2 week both letters sent by Recorded Post and both signed for. Up to now (31st May) I've not had any correspondence from Barclaycard regarding these accounts!! My question is what or who next? Due to the length of time since the accounts were opened and closed would I be best going through the FOS or the FLA who I've been referred to in similar cases? I've not heard too much positive with the FLA they seem pretty toothless from what I've read but then what do I know? Is there another body someone might recommend? I'm fighting on a few fronts at the moment and its refusal after refusal lately but I've started so may as well try and finish. Any suggestions on this one would be appreciated, Theres more to come, Tenmen10
  15. Can anyone advise? I wrote the standard PPI letter to GMAC (my previous mortgage company) and received a letter back from Paratus AMC stating that GMAC was a former company of theirs and that Paratus has not and does not nor provide advise on PPI therefore unable to to assist. They suggest I try the financial advisor who introduced us to the mortgage (as Paratus are washing their hands of this claim). The financial advisor has now ceased to trade so I could not go there if I wanted to. I am 90% certain I took out PPI with GMAC as I am unable to locate the paperwork for my mortgage.
  16. Hello I took a loan out about 4-5 years ago and Im not sure if I had PPI on it or not, I have no paper work on it at all. I was wondering could I make my own claim rather than going to a company who will take a large portion of the prospective claim refund? Thanks
  17. My daughter visited McD's in Rotherham, She stayed longer than the specified time and because the vehicle is a company vehicle I received the parking "fine" which of course I will not be paying. I emailed their customer relations and I think You may be interested in the response I have received so here it is. If this is not allowed on here please remove it thanks Dear Mrs ******** I am writing further to your e-mail regarding your daughter's visit to our Tankersley restaurant. I have noted your comments and welcome the opportunity to confirm our policy on this matter. As a company, putting in place enforcements within our car parks is only done after careful consideration and very much as a last resort. Primarily, we use parking measures to ensure there are spaces available for our customers’ vehicles, as well as to deter unwarranted or unreasonably prolonged usage of the facility. I can confirm this parking area is managed by an independent company who are responsible for monitoring the car park and taking details of registration numbers. The regulations and signs at the restaurant clearly state our policy and the relevant charges. I trust you will appreciate that in order to maintain a consistent approach; we have to adhere to the guidelines in place. As such, in a situation such as a clear contravention of parking regulations, we are unable to deal with any specifics or cases on an individual basis. Suffice to say, if a customer contravenes the clearly displayed parking regulations, they will receive a ticket. Thank you for contacting us and again for the opportunity to comment. Yours sincerely Senior Customer Services Manager McDonald's Customer Services Department 11 - 59 High Road East Finchley London N2 8AW Tel: 08705 244622 So now we know !! no more visits to McD's for us and all my staff of Drivers are backing me so........ 18. Hello Caggers, I hope someone can help me on this from Vanquis If I have put this in the wrong forum please forgive me. I noticed from a statement earlier this year that PPI was being charged on my Vanquis credit card. I contacted them to dispute this and seek a refund. They requested 40 days to look into it and at the end stated that their telephone records showed that I had known about this when my application was taken over the phone. This is where it gets silly because my application was taken out online and at no time did I know about PPI being added and neither did I apply on the phone or even talk to anybody regarding this. At the time of my first complaint I stated quite clearly that I disputed the account and that I would not be making further payments until the matter was resolved. At this time I was not in any arrears and also within my credit limit. Next stage was to SAR Vanquis requesting all the information and statements from my time with them I also specifically requested transcripts from any telephone conversations. My pack arrived today and in it there are no statements, no telephone transcripts, no signed documents of any sort from me, no sign of the original application in fact virtually nothing of use. The balance on my account since the original dispute has increased by in excess of £200 and they have also added a default to my credit file. I want to take these people to the cleaners, can anyone point me in the right direction and exactly what action I can take.
  19. Hi there I've started a PPI reclaim procedure against Nationwide. I heard nothing for 4 weeks, and now they've sent me the FOS questionnaire to fill out. The accompanying letter says that without the questionnaire they may be unable to complete their investigation. The original letter I sent them had quite a lot of detail. Is this just a delaying tactic?
  20. dont know if anyone can help. ive put in a claim for ppi from natwest bank from quite a few years ago. they have sent me info on the loans i have had and the full amount of ppi paid on these loans but unfortunately no details of how much i was paying every month and i have no info as these loans were from a long time ago. how am i meant to work out how much roughly i should receive as i have no idea of how much to accept or how much should be offered!!
  21. Hi I am wanting to make a claim for ppi to NatWest but i cannot remember if i paid it or not, i had 3 loans with them and i know i started off paying it at the begining as they said i had to have it but not sure if i cancelled it or carried on paying through all 3 loans. I sent them a letter and they have sent me a letter back with my loan dates, amounts and amounts of PPI that would have been paid if i did pay it and asked me to contact them if i want to make a claim. Now do i still need to do the SAR thing or can i just fill out the application forms that i have and just send them in and hope for the best as i have no other details or paperwork on the loans other than this letter that NatWest have just sent me and im really confused already! Thanks for any help!
  22. Hi, I have recently been contacted by a few Claims Management Companies who I have managed to stop bothering me but as a result I have started looking at the subject a bit more closely. I have told these CMC's that to my knowledge, I have never had PPI on any loan, credit card, mortgage etc but as apart from my mortgage, I no longer have any active loans or credit cards and no longer have any paperwork for the loans and cards that I have had in the past. One CMC has mentioned an enormous reclaim figure based purely on a mortgage arrangement fee. I have recently gained a copy of my credit report but I find it very confusing. I have had numerous loans and credit cards in the past and have not always been completely responsible with my finances and have at times missed payments. One issue does spring to mind was after consolidating debt from a couple of cards to one with a low APR I set up a DD for this card with the intention of forgetting about it until the debt was cleared. Unfortunately I used the card in an emergency and did not realise that this affected the APR which I was getting. It was only about a year later when I realised that out of the couple of hundred of pounds a month I was paying, only a very small amount was coming off the debt and the rest was interest. I never received any correspondence from the card provider to let me know the APR had changed. I now do not know whether or not to employ one of these CMC's on a no win no fee basis as it will probably cost me about £100 to gain copies of all the loan/card agreements via SAR's. I do not even have account or card numbers to identify the different policies. Any advice would be appreciated, Mark
  23. I have wrote to my bank claiming ppi, i have received a letter to say they have received the documents and are investigating the claim. does this mean i will be getting a refund? if i didnt have the right to claim would they respond to say you didnt have ppi? i am confused, thank you
  24. Hi, I am trying to reclaim PPI from welcome finance and have written to my local office was a SAR and £10 cheque to cover the standard fee for releasing this information. Its been 3 weeks and welcome have written back to me saying that they aknowledge my cheque payment and have banked it however they cannot give me any information as they need to prove my ID and need a copy of my passport? This seems a little strange and is this a delaying tactic or are they being genuine ? may I ask what the best way to proceed with them? Thanks Scott
  25. hello everyone, does anyone know how these reclaim companies find out how much ppi money we are owed without us telling them what loans or cards we've had
