  1. Hello I signed up, many years ago, for a tradepro account/ credit card. I was approached in the street and signed a credit agreement in March 2006. The amount i spent on this card was approximately £2800. I made payments and then unfortunately lost my job. This is when the fun began. I tried to be reasonable with this company and they eventually took me to court in 2010. I stupidly didn't attend although i did try to defend by letter and judgement was granted. They then proceeded to place a charging order/ restriction on my house. They then passed the debt on to Marstons debt collectors - who added charges, costs, visits to this debt and it totalled approx £6000 in the end. They threatened to take my car, frightened the kids to death . I managed to get tradepro to call them off and the last letter i had from them was in june 2011, a statement of account saying i owed £4100. I have not had any contact since and have been too scared to do anything other than worry about the charging order and then all of a sudden i get a letter of assignment from Hoist Portfolio and a debt collection letter from Robinson Way asking for payment. Im not sure where to go from here. Please could i have some much needed advice?? Thankyou in advance.
  2. Hi there......posting on behalf of my husband Historic credit card debt card held 30 years Got into problems in the last few years and transferred to Robinson Way Payment arrangement in place and PPI already claimed back from LLoyds 6 years ago No charges ever reclaimed on Credit Card or Current account held for same amount of time. LLoyds have intermittently been chasing too last random contact was to a old previous address of my parents despite them having my current stating that the amount of interest had been accrued incorrectly by them refunding approx £600 back to the account and if the remaining balance was not cleared by X DATE (approx £1200) that a default would be applied to my credit file -this was SINCE i started paying Robinson Way direct. Unsure of if default applied need to check credit file to see what it shows. Response from Robinson way re CCA was they are making the necessary enquiries and let me know the outcome in due course and interestingly they will stop ALL collection activity on the account. I have cancelled the standing order to them. Balance £1127,98 Surely there is only liability to one creditor and if LLoyds have sold this on then they surely cant default my credit file. No response from LLoyds re SAR......should make interesting reading with 30 years of documentation Intending to reclaim all current account and credit card charges
  3. Just had a letter from Robinson Way for IDEM Servicing (ex HFC Bank) regarding my CCA request. "Idem Servicing have advised they are unable to provide an agreement for this account.. Please note, this account is no longer being serviced by Robinson Way. Please direct any queries to Idem Servicing directly" It now says the amount due is £0.00 - I assume thats just for their internal systems and I do nothing more with this and if I get another letter from some other DCA regarding this I should just send off a CCA request to them?
  4. Hello Several days ago I got a payslip type communication from a company called Robinson Way, first time I have had anything at all like that from them . It had no information on it looked like a [problem] similar to what I get via email all the time so ripped it up and binned it. I did get one about a year ago like that from another company and binned that as well, and heard nothing further so thought nothing of it. I had an odd letter before about a debt with no money owed mentioned or companies mentioned and ignored them. I have an uncommon name, but not an unusual one and there a few blokes in my area with the same name , so thought they were probably looking for them. I got home from work today and have had a letter from HPH2 Ltd (EX Barclaycard) and says I owe them £727.04. I do not have a Barclaycard, many years ago I did have a Barclaycard and I entered into an IVA which included my Barclaycard which was less than the amount shown on this letter. I completed the IVA and paid it all and after 5 years got a letter all clear, this was about 3 years ago. I have heard nothing since and nor was I expecting to from any company. I have since started getting credit accounts again over the last few years and am managing these fine everything paid and up to date, nothing unmanageable and all fine. Due to this letter I checked my credit report with experian to see if I had been defrauded or something and no accounts were on there from Barclaycard. However HPH2 Ltd have registered a default against me on 01/05/2016. This has totally destroyed my credit rating, and is not my debt. They give the card number on the letter and it does not match the one on my IVA, so cannot be my account with them. All the letter says is to appoint Robinson Way on their behalf and give me bank details to pay. I have no contact numbers to dispute this, how do I get this sorted? Any help is appreciated. I should add I posted this as after a google search it lead me to these forums and after reading a few posts it seems these people are dodgy to deal with. I am contacting all the credit reference agencies and am going to dispute it with them. How else should I proceed as I don't want to be chased for this debt that is not mine.
  5. Hi I have been directed to this group by a friend and I hope you can help me because I am worried. I have had a current account with Lloyds for around 25 years and until recently managed the account well with no problems. I recently came into financial difficulties and couldn't manage my overdraft repayments. My overdraft was £3000 and I couldn't even pay the £50 interest and overdraft fee. I contacted Lloyds by phone back in June 2015. I was informed that the account would be frozen and I would receive a letter in due course. I received the letter 26th June informing me that the overdraft would be removed in 60 days, the account would be passed to recoveries and the Credit Reference Agencies would be informed and my account be be marked as in default. I kept receiving statements showing that the account was incurring no interest or charges. I then received 2 letters in October 2015 informing me that I haven't paid anything for some time and I must contact them to or credit the account to avoid charges. I started paying £10 per month. In November 2015 I received a statement with charges included. I made an official complaint. I received a response on 16th November with an apology for "their mistake" for not passing the account to Recoveries and refund of all charges plus £50 as way of an apology. A letter was received a day later dated 17th November 2015 asking for payment but informing me that no charges will be incurred due to the "type of account". I continued to pay £10 per month interest free and heard nothing I received a letter dated informing me that my account had been passed to Collections (not Recoveries) and they can assist if I am struggling. I phoned on 18th February 2016 (I am aware now that phoning is not the best idea). I gave a brief Income/Expenditure breakdown and said that I will pay £10 per month. I was informed that I should do this until I am contacted by Recoveries in March. I heard nothing until today I received a letter dated 1st June 2016 stating "As we haven't been able to agree a suitable repayment plan, we've transferred your LTSB CURRENT ACCOUNT to a debt Collection Agency, Robinson Way. We've instructed Robinson Way to arrange collection of the outstanding amount. Please contact Robinson Way asap". Contact details were included. I am upset and confused. Why did Lloyds seem to pass me to Collections then seemingly back to mainstream bank then again to Collections? Why did they never send my account to "Recoveries" which was stated back in June 2015? Is transferring the account the same has selling the account on? Why did they pass my account to DCA when I had a repayment plan in place, which was deemed acceptable? Why have I still not been defaulted, when they said that I would be back in June 2015? My Credit file entries were showing as ok until December 2015 when a "1" marker was entered followed by a "2" in January 2016 up to a "5" in April 2016. Do I have to contact the DCA or should I wait for them to contact me? Can the DCA add interest/charges? I have no other debt apart from a couple of Credit cards that are almost paid off and not in arrears. I have no bank charges form Lloyds, so nothing to claim on that part. I am a single mother with a job in a School on minimum wage (16 hours per week) term time only, I simply can't afford to pay the balance. I am really worried and would appreciate any help. 6. Hi, I have asked Robinson Way for a CCA request. But can I just clarify something please. The card was a Barclaycard which defaulted, sold to MKDPP who sold to Hoist/Robinson Way. The card was taken out in August 1993. As part of the CCA should I be sent a copy of a "true signed agreement" or can they send me a reconstituted one. I am not sure which one applies to my card or if in fact they could send either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there legislation to say which one I should receive, if so what is that legislation. Many thanks
  7. Hello there! First time post for me so apologies if I miss something! I received a letter from Robinson Way for an alleged barclaycard debt, of which I sent a CCA request enclosing the £1, which they banked. I received a letter saying that they would request the details from their client and it would be on hold until they received the details. Subsequently I've now received a letter saying: "Further to your recent request for a copy agreement on the above account, we are unable to obtain this form the original creditor as this request must be formally made to us in writing. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by us not informing you of this requirement at the time of your initial request. If you still require the agreement please submit your request in writing to us at the address above and we will process it as quickly as possible. Please note that the £1.00 fee normally required for a CCA request will be waived on this occasion. In the meantime, we have placed your account on a 30 day delay to allow you enough time to submit a written request. If we do not hear back from you within this time we will assume you no longer require this information and your account activity will resume." I sent the CCA request with the enclosed payment to the same address on the letter?! It is now 17 days since the date of my original CCA request. I'm not sure which way to respond to this - any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
  8. Hi all I need a little advice on something that cropped up on my credit report awhile back. After noticing a default being registered from Hoist Portfolio Holding 2 Ltd for an alleged debt for £3,194.00 I entered a dispute with the credit reference agency to gather further information (Noodle.co.uk) I was told it was for a Santander account. Firstly I have never had an account with that bank or any financial association in any form at any time. The claim is the account began in 2004 and defaulted in 2011. This is blatantly untrue as previously stated I have never had an account with this bank and certainly not during this stated time period. I did however have an account with the Abbey National Bank, but I'm sure I left that bank in 2000, and certainly never had a debt that I can ever recall. I know Santander took over Abbey National in 2004 (after doing a little research), however I had left the Abbey long before this happened. I have since just received a letter from Robinson Way stating I owe this money and that it is for a Santander account. I deny I owe any money to Santander on the grounds I have never held any account with them and the nearest association I can reasonably find is from the Abbey National Bank which I left in 2000. Surely this debt doesn't exist, nor can I be harassed for a statue barred debt that is over 15 years old (if it even exists in the first place). Is there any action I can take that will get this default removed from my report, and also any action I can take against Robinson Way for maliciously damaging my credit report? Many thanks Phil
  9. Hi there, This is the first time I have actually used a forum as I am quite concerned regarding letters which have recently been coming through the post from Hoist Portfolio and Robins Way demanding money from a loans from Morses Club. Which was taken out in 2006,2007,2006 but has been shown settled on my credit history in 2/2010. Even though this shows settled it also says "THE ACCOUNT AND LIABILITY HAS BEEN TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER COMPANY" but it doesn't state which company? The first letter appeared on 14/10/15 from Hoist Portfilio Holding 2 Limited which is a NOTICE OF ASSIGNMENT for the total of £2.197.00 Then a letter turned up dated 23rd October 2015 which was a NOTICE OF SUMS IN ARREAS which apparently are official notices that the consumer credit act 1974 which states should be sent to customers in arreas .There are 12 pages and have found these quite overwhelming to say the least. Then on 4th November I received a letter from Robinsons Way who say they are collecting the debt for Hoist Portfolio and states that there is no minimum payment I only pay what I can afford . I am very confused as looking on my credit record it shows that it is settled but with how I have been bombarded will letters and have even heard an automated message left on my house phone which I thought I was ex directory but have managed to obtain my number.I really would appreciate any information to help me to resolve this as i am so worried as i thought it was settled. Thankyou
  10. several years ago I left O2 as phone supplier because of their poor customer service and frankly insanely stingy data allowances. I reached the end of my second 2 year contract, and gave them 30 days notice I was intending to leave and go to 3 as a supplier for their unlimited data usage. I got an unlock code for my now paid for handset, received confirmation that I was leaving and while waiting for my new contract to kick in with 3, this is where it gets sticky. While waiting for my new contract to start, I contacted O2 and asked to have rolling 30 day tariff activated on my account so I didnt have a non functional phone while waiting for my new one. I also told them I would not be keeping my old number as I wanted to change and the code for releasing my number to the new network would not be needed after all, but the handset was unlocked and good to go. Several months down the line and I start getting debt notices form O2. They stated I was now tied into another 12 month sim contract and I owed them for the full year despite never actually using a single day of the new contract after the initial 30 day period ended. I have fought this out with O2 for nearly three years and they have refused to accept I did not ask for the contract or use it, despite my showing them with phone records that for the last 13 days of the initial 30 day rolling tariff that I did ask for, the phone and number was not in use and by that time I had received my new phone. O2 have passed the account onto robinson way who have tried their usual BS tactics and received a blunt summary response from me. I have tried more times than I recall to speak to a senior person at 02, they have accepted in a public forum on FB on their page that it didnt sound right what had happened to me but subsequently refused to budge. I have now been slapped with a default on my credit file that is doing untold damage and I have no idea how to deal with this since O2 just will not speak to me and I know for a fact I never asked for a new contract other than the 30 day rolling tariff that I did ask for. I want to attack the default and get it removed as I know it isnt right but I have no idea what to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction for issuing proceedings against O2 if thats possible? There must be something I can do.
  11. Hi, I am new on here but hope that you may be able to help me. I have uploaded the letters that I have received from Robinson Way, the said debt goes back to 2005, I was making payments but all stopped in 2008. I have not heard anything neither from Tesco Personal Finance or any other agencies up until now. Can you advise me on how to deal with this? Thanks in advance.
  12. I subscribe to Noddle a free credit score and report checking service. I can see that Robinson Way accessed my credit file in November. It is about a debt I had with egg about 9 years ago although I continued to pay £5 a month until 2011 so not statue barred. I had just managed to get a good score as the previous default occurred so long ago. They have started legal action again which means that a debt taken out in 2004 which defaulted around 2006 will be shown on my credit file for another 6 years if they are successful with the legal case. So all in all 12 years of no credit for me at sensible rates. This cannot be what the government intended with CCA legislation. Also can Robinson Way access my credit file without my consent ?
  13. Quite a long story but would really appreciate advice. First Direct card and overdraft debt from 2011 both of which defaulted and were sold to Metroplitan Credit services, then Sigma then MKDP. MKDP obtained a CCJ for the outstanding balance of £7300. I reached an agreement with them to pay £100 per month when they took me to court. 2014. I have continued to pay £100 each month recently I was informed by MKDP that they had sold the debt to Robinson Way / Hoist. I continued to make payments and now have been asked to transfer the payments to Robinsons Way balance stands at £5700. This CCJ is the last debt I have outstanding and I have cleared virtually everything off my credit file over the past 6 months thanks to lots of help from reading posts on these sites. I have been informed by Robinson way that their solicitors will be changing the entry on my credit file for the CCj to reflect them as new owners. Is there any way I can get this thing removed and move on from what was a very difficult period. Thanks in advance for any advice
  14. Dear forum members, I'm looking for some advice on the next steps I need to take with two companies, Robinson Way and Capquest. I have three debts, two with Robinson Way and one with Capquest. The two with Robinson Way are Welcome Finance and Barclaycard and the one with Capquest is Royal Bank of Scotland. All three of the debts have been ongoing for approximately six years and some payments have been made to all three. They have been passed around several DCA's during their existence. And, regrettably, I have often ignored them. However, after the recent letters I have received concerning them I want to do something about them. I know it should have been something I should have tackled earlier but I can't change that now so I hope I can get some advice here. I have been reading around some articles but I am a little overwhelmed by the amount of information on the forums. I'm not sure if some or all of the advice applies to me. I am happy to provide further information and know that I will need to do so in order to receive help from people but I am unsure what to provide at this early stage. I have read about an SOA (Statement of Affairs?) but I would appreciate any help an experienced forum member might be able to offer. Thanks for taking the time to read this! And this is also a copy and paste of a message I put on moneysavingexpert but I wanted to 'reach out' to as many knowledgeable people as possible, so sorry if some people are reading this twice.
  15. hello my brother has got court papers delivered to his old address his ex partner rang him to tell him this is for a debt that is 4 months off the 6 year mark my brother has depression has for years being in debt has made it worse for him my brother and his ex have a joint mortgage and he pays towards his daughter who lives with his ex in there home he has not been getting the debt letters as they have been going to his ex house and she has not told him about them only this letter because it was for court I got the information and with my brother rang up robinson way explained that he has not been getting his mail as it has been sent to his ex address my brother says he told them of his address a few years ago so cant understand why they have sent them there may be its because his name is also on the mortgage I asked robinson way if we could do I partial settlement but they only took off £550 off the amount of £4870 I cannot lend him this amount I told them this was way too much I mentioned about his depression that he has had for years and how worried this could make him worse they said they would put a stop to the court proceedings and hold the debt do they can write to him about his mental health etc I am a bit worried as we don't have court papers to say that he has them could they be lying so that he doesn't respond to the claim as I mentioned that I would ring court up explain they were sent to wrong house and get information so he could file online robinson way said there is no need to do this as they have halted the debt until they send info about his mental health as they want more information how do I no that they are telling the truth and stopped the court proceedings or do they just hope that my brother does not respond and gets a ccj as he has not acted sorry for rambling but very worried any information would be helpful
  16. Hi all First post here, hoping someone can offer some greatly appreciated advice! My girlfriend and I are hoping to look into taking a new mortgage in the next year or two, move out of our apartment and buy a house. I'm fairly recently self-employed (3 years) so that in itself is tricky but I also have old debt that could cause a problem. I settled 2 of the accounts with debt collection agencies a couple of years ago (settled with discount - not in full), and have 2 remaining. One from a cahoot loan I took out around 2004 (defaulted when I was out of work in 2007). Full amount owed is around £1400 Second a t-mobile bill from 2010 that I was unwilling to pay - due to the phone being stolen and a huge bill being run up. (I didn't notify them quickly enough to remove the charges apparently). With Sigma Red and around £240 The cahoot loan is now in the hands of Robinson Way, it has been passed around several DCA's and ended up with them. They left me alone for a long time, but recently started calling my home number. I am now in a position where I could pay both debts off either full or settled, but don't know whether it is worthwhile now? I have spoke to Robinson Way the lowest they would settle for is around £1100, and they have sent me some forms out for income/expenditure that may reduce it further. They have said they would have to contact the client (Santander) with this information with a payment proposal. Had a look around and see that it's only really time (6 years) that can remove the defaults, so checked my credit rating on Experian and it's at 999 out of 999 with 6 positive and 2 negative - 2 negative being one default account (SIGMA RED) which makes sense, being the one of the two that is under 6 years, and the other negative is that I only have a credit allowance of £500 on my credit card. So should I pay? If I don't will Robinson Way hassle me now forever? With that debt being off my credit report and over 6 years, shouldnt my account at Santender now be closed? Are they lying about the client? I presume they just actually own this debt. I am tempted to pay the SIGMA RED now being less - just to get that off my report. I saved up enough to pay them both off tbh. Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
  17. Following on from my original post, Robinson way have replied . They have asked for a copy of the statement/agreement to verify that he is liable to pay the amount due. The account has been placed on temporarily pending receipt of this documentation-no timescale on the letter Cheers Matt
  18. Hello Everyone, I have a very old catalogue debt, I don't know the exact date of opening it, but I would say maybe 2006/2007. I only ordered a small number of goods, then paid it off, but then for some reason stopped paying. In 2010 I was getting letters regarding it, so I CCA'd them in June 2010. I have a vague recollection that they send me a blank credit agreement form and said they didn't have mine, but it would be like this. After that I don't think I did anything with it (stupid me). I have a default on my credit report from May 2010 for this, and the amount is for over £600. I find the amount strange too, as I'm almost sure i only ordered 2 things, so I believe the debt to be under £80. Now I am getting letters again, and now a letter from Drysden Fairfax. What is my first step, do you suggest I SAR them, or CCA them (again) or can I send a SAR request and a CCA at the same time, or does that contradict the CCA (i.e. not acknowledging the debt) Thank you for your help everyone!
  19. just wondering if anyone else is having this problem of robinson way doing credit report address history checks everyday for the past month? i have already cca'd and heard nothing back except we cannot retrieve your consumer credit agreement. anyones views or advice would be really helpful.
  20. I wonder if someone could kindly advise what to do regarding and outstanding debt my brother has with Thames Water. The gist of it is that he has fallen behind on his payments with Thames Water and now owes about £500. He advised me that he keeps getting letters from Robinson Way threatening legal action / doorstep collection if amount is not paid. Well he got home from work this morning and there was a card left for him to call someone at power2contact within 24 hours to avoid any further action. He is worried sick on what to do next and does not want the debt to increase and to be cut-off. He was also considering getting a high interest loan to pay it but I managed to talk him out of it on the understanding that I would seek some advice first what to do. Any urgent comments would be very much appreciated.
  21. Received a letter from Robinson Way today. £1350 due to Lowell apparently. I have checked Experian and Equifax and there is not trace of this debt existing. One to be filed in B1N?
  22. Hi, Today, a debt collector has knocked on our door asking for me. I was out at the time but he says he will keep calling back until he gets me! Apparently he is from Robinson Way, but I have no idea what this is about or how much etc. Yes I am in debt and trying to sort it all out, I have had some advice off here and through national debtline and know a bit about it all. Am I right in thinking that he should not be knocking and asking for money without my prior agreement? If so, I am thinking of passing him a letter when he next calls, explaining that I will not deal with debt collectors at the door but I am struggling to find the right wording and would appreciate your help. If the company write to me directly, showing their ownership of the debt and indeed some proof of what the debt actually is, I am more than happy to start negotiating with them but I don't want people hammering on the door and showing me up in the street. I am also expecting family next week from Scotland for two nights and certainly don't want him turning up when I have people over. Thanks for the help.
  23. Does anyone know if Largo and Robinson Way are linked at all? I had a loan with Citi Fininacial, and Arrow Global purchased it in 2012. They immediately assigned Largo to collect and I've been on a payment plan of £1 a month ever since. I today received my annual statement from Arrow however it states no payments have been made since May. Payments have continued to be made via standing order, however I have noted that since June amounts of £1 have been returned by a Robinson Way to my bank account. Im not 100% sure it is the "Largo payments" being returned however as I have a number of £1 standing orders that go out on the same day. Does anyone know if these are linked, or if not who Robinson Way are linked to, as I pay 7 dca's monthly but none one of them is Robinson Way. Thanks
  24. My son owed money to HSBC for credit card and overdraft. He became very ill with arthritis, genuine, and is on TNF and Methorexate. Went onto disability pension, but up until the time he collapsed, he was paying all this bills. This is going back 8 years. His account has been passed to a couple of companies I think, but is now with Robinson Way. They tell him the pay out figure is something like £3500, but an agreed figure is approx £2700. He asked if that would be the last of the harassment if he could pay that (he can't), and if his name would be clear, and the account settled. The girl at Robinson Way wasn't sure!!! Essentially he doesn't know how to proceed. I believe he is paying something nominal each month, but it appears the interest continues to be going on the amount. He has been to Citizens Advice, and was thinking of going bankrupt, but they say the amount is too little to consider bankruptcy. My son thinks if he pays the amount (which he still can't) then his name will be cleared. I doubt this, as he now has a bad payer record, which will last for years, so to go bankrupt is much the same in the long run. It is a mess, and my son tries very hard, but is not very academic, so I am trying to find out if there is anyway around this, whether it is paying a lower agreed amount, and clearing the debt (don't trust Robinson Way), or actually finding out if he is still liable for the amount. He also had a car at the time, and according to the loan was able to sell it, which he did, and paid the loan company the money. He continued to pay what was left, and then after 6 years or so, the loan was finalised, although the full amount was not paid. CAB did explain to my son why that was. So mainly he does not know what way to go now. I want to help him, but don't want to make a mistake, and my friend who has used this site said it was invaluable. She spoke of templates etc., so has anyone else been in a similar position? I got a bit confused reading the posts, and the legal side of what templates are best for what. Or is it a set procedure? Thanks anyone who can point us in the right direction.
  25. When i was a student in leeds i had a credit card, which i used to survive on when the company i worked went into liquidation. When i was unable to make the normal payments back i arranged with Santander to pay back what i could, which was all fine. However, Santander begun to get hot and heavy due to the fact i paying only small amounts (still always paying), then, for some reason, Santander passed it on a debt collectors, which i was told was the new protocol and how they were handling my account. Sooo, i began paying Moorcroft, the same amount, each time being asked if i could pay any more than i was (more pushy than Santander), which i said 'No, i couldn't'. After months of paying and paying, never arguing, never missing a payment (this was money i KNEW i owed), Moorcroft told me that Santander had called back in all their debts and they would contact me in the next steps of how i could pay them. But then nothing. Santander never contacted me. I have a Santander debt account, my money goes in, i used Santander to pay bills, to this very day, but i heard nothing. i contacted them, told them everything, the lovely woman on the phone could not find me, i didn't have a credit card with them, it showed i had but not anymore, she tried to help and the best advice she could give was just see what happens, so i have. 2 and half years later i got a letter today from Robinson Way with far more blown out amount them i owed (about a thousand more, actual amount being a thousand, again, no denying i owed it, i paid rent and survived off it during a very hard time). Currently i am confused what to do, i want to pay this off, i want this gone but if i contact anyone within Robinson Way they will begun contacting me and keep contacting me (Moorcroft would do this alot, pleasant phones asking if i could pay them). What i want to do is pay the amount i owe, not the amount which has grown from Moorcroft and Robinson Way. Am i alone in this? I do not want to be a criminal, but i am frightened to how to deal with this all. Can anyone help and advise me in any way? Thank you.
