  1. Hi Long story going on here, after moving house recently I started sorting old paperwork and came across a reclaim for ppi that my ex wife had been trying to solve. I admit to being a bit of a no brainer with any of this sort of thing. A letter dated 2012 stated that ge money was not responsible for ppi and as dial4aloan was defunct they basically said , no chance and it was their final response. So this started me digging around the internet to see what was out there, and I discovered this site. I called ge money who said about the final response letter etc and they would send me copies of what was sent etc. . but they did not owe me anything so take it up with fos etc I have today received this and I am as oblivious as ever. They have sent copies of the reclaim paperwork and letters that were sent but also attached is a statement headed PPI REDRESS CALCULATION UNDER FOS RULES - SINGLE PREMIUM POLICIES this has my personal details, instalment details then a column for award calculation and another for 8% simple interest, with a total of 1531.36 If this account was nothing to do with them, how would they know that information ? a bit of background : took out a secured loan in 2002 through dial4aloan and received the deed from igroup june 2002. In the top right of the dial4loan application it says CREDIT AGREEMENT REGULATED BY THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974 (CAPITAL REPAYMENT) I repaid in full in 2003 Please can anyone tell me if I should let this die and forget it or is it worth fighting for ?
  2. CAG... I write this with good intentions but its becoming more and more apparent that ignoring DCAs is becoming a bad idea. Just like the case of Harlands / Zinc and Court, It appears Control Account are issuing claims. I attach the following example... The debtor of another site, which i will not mention was told to ignore Control Account PLC and is now being advised to try and get unequivocal proof of who the legal manager is, statements etc... Its becoming apparent that DCAs that are normally dont even consider legal action are now attempting it. There is a way to deal with these types of claim and using the below advice will steer you in the wrong direction. Please remember that just because an account is with a particular DCA, it doesnt mean you will beable to second guess them.
  3. Hi, My business partner and I are going to be registering our company very soon. I know that somewhere into the process, we're going to need to open a business bank account and designate that as our main account for the business. About 3 years ago, I opened a business account and had a business loan that was connected with that account when I opened it (by Lloyds TSB). This company was as a sole trader and wasn't a registered company. I had some payment issues and the business account was eventually closed, as I'd missed some loan repayments/late payments, etc. Ultimately, the loan was sold on by Lloyds and I've been paying it back ever since. I didn't go bankrupt or anything like that, and the loan wasn't a large sum of money. But I lost the business bank account in the process. I've been paying off the loan ever since through a debt consolidation company and all is fine in that regard. I was wondering if I'm likely to experience issues when opening a business bank account now? I'd use a different bank and I wouldn't be looking to get a loan or anything like that. It would purely be myself and my business partner using it as our official business bank account. Any help on this would be much appreciated,
  4. Hi Can someone help me. Because I gave out the wrong account number to a supplier a payment pf £850 was transferred into the wrong account. The people who were paying me tried to get the payment reversed by Santander who have responded that they have tried to get in touch with the recipient but can't. They now say there is nothing more they can do. Does anyone have any experience or understanding of what I can do next? Any help gratefully received Thanks
  5. Hi was just wondering Barclay's have put my account under review! I have no clue as to why it is, been with them for the last 10 years and never had a problem, I have direct debits coming out at the end of the month a couple of credit cards, council tax and a small loan can I claim any charge's back from Barclay's ? I have informed the companies what is going on and they where very understanding I'm pleased to say however I'm trying to rebuild my credit score and all was going well but will my hard work be undone by my own bank? Thanks in advance GH
  6. Basically I had a hsbc business account which I shut due to the fact I slowed trading for for a while. Started to use my personal account for a bit and then a lot of business subsequently got asked to leave for breaking t&c. Left me without an account, 7 defaults and 3 arrangements on my credit history in the last 6 years. Ive put in an application with Coop for a cash minder, they seem to of lost my application in branch which is a pain. Had a look at the bank groups and basically hsbc aside I had history with all except Santander, figured I had nothing to lose by putting in an application for a business account. Went basic no overdrafts, loans etc. Had an email off them yesterday with a questionnaire which I completed honestly, emailed it back then today received this. "Thank you for choosing Santander Business Banking. We’re pleased to let you know that your Business Current Account is now open and ready for you to use. What’s next? In the next 7 – 10 days we’ll send your card, card PIN, Online Banking passcode and registration number separately (for security purposes) to the home address you gave us." Is that it?, I've been accepted?, can I have a beer to celebrate? or is there something that can go wrong from here?. Other than my credit history I have no other skeletons in my closet or anything. I know all banks are as bad as the other but I did not expect to get a highstreet account in a million years with my account history. I was thinking best case I get a cash minder and a pre pay. I had a large loan and Credit card with Abbey national which were paid in about 2007 but did reclaim a lot of ppi.
  7. After being badgered by a Sky Salesman in my local shopping centre, i decided to go back to Sky. As a returning customer they offered such a fantastic deal, New Dish and HD Box all installed, Sky Family package normally at £36.00 reduced to £23.40 for 12 months (35% off) Engineer due Wednesday to do the install and i get a welcome back letter from sky this morning. To my horror it has my monthly subscription at £36.00. Now on the phone the chap states it was an error in applying the discount etc, then the line goes dead, i get cut off Phoned again the cancellation department this time. Everything going fine, she said she has put a credit on the bill and my monthly subscription will be £23.40 for12 months. I then ask for her to send me an email as a change in contractual terms to confirm my monthly bill. SHE SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE FACILITY TO SEND OUT AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION. Now i have a 14 day cooling off period to stick by. If they cannot even have the decency to send me an email confirmation then stuff you I have now cancelled my contract and install within the 14 day cooling off period I do not like to be ripped off or made to feel that way
  8. Morning all, I have had ongoing problems with Lloyds since last year since they decided to split things, I was told I would no longer be under one manager who I had direct contact with through the North Midlands Agriculture ofice as this would be closing and I would have to deal with the call centre managers, for the last year I have had no sense out of them when contacting them and not even a letter of acknowledgement when writing to them never mind a reply, anyway to the crux of the matter, things have been tight on the business last couple of months and I have gone over the overdraft a few times, however despite me trying to talk to them about it nothing has been resolved and now they have started bouncing direct debits and cheques if they would take it over, however when applying thier own charges they have allowed these to take it over which I will then be charged on again no doubt, any advice appreciated, getting sense out of a call centre manager is like getting blood out of a stone!
  9. Hi My parents wanted to close down their investment accounts with Standard Life and have the money in their banks so they could access their money more easily. They are in their 80s and are not that bothered about earning interest. We wrote to Standard Life, at their request, quite clearly stating which bank account to deposit the money. They paid the money, £27,500, into the wrong account. They paid it into a joint account, which is shared with my brother. Because my brother has been helping himself to the money, we have had to use my Dad's sole current account for any deposits, ie his pensions. Of course now my brother has stolen the £27,500, transferring it online to his own bank account. He also stole £94 from their joint account. We are in the process of freezing the joint account. A complaint has been raised with Standard Life as to how they could have made such an error. The woman I spoke to on Thursday said it was their error. Therefore, if my brother will not pay back the money he affectively 'stole', I would say it is up to Standard Life to recompense us. I would also like compensation for the stress their error has caused. My Dad has not asked my brother for the money back because he is slightly frightened of him. Do you think it unreasonable to ask Standard Life for compensation as well as refunding the money? If you think it is reasonable to ask for compensation, how much would you suggest we ask for?
  10. applying for a mortgage and upon checking my credit score, i find a default from a Vodafone account on my file - whilst i may have had a PAYG phone some time in the distant past - the credit score says the account was opened in April 2010, i definitely didn't use it when it is alleged to have gone into default How can i get default VODAFONE LTD GEMINI removed from credit report? It says 2 mised payments in March 2014, defaulted in July 2014 and it says £14 was owed Communications Supplier from Vodafone Ltd Gemini (I) / XXXXX5419 is the account
  11. Hi does anyone have a copy of terms and conditions for travel insurance advantage gold account for the year 2000 I am trying to put in claim to get back monies paid. I had a pre existing medical condition Cancer which the bank knew about. They are saying I can not claim as my insurance was valid. I know it was not. I never went on holiday so the policy was useless.
  12. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, please feel free to move it if not! I had an out-of-warranty iPhone that needed a battery replacement. I paid for the work online with my debit card using Apple's support site. A hold was placed on the money in my account. While I waited for them to send out the pre-paid box to return the phone, the hold on the money was removed, presumably because the work had not been completed and could not yet be charged. I left the money where it was because I knew it would be taken later. I returned the phone and was contacted via email by Apple who said they'd found something else wrong with it which would also need to be repaired. They attached a photo of my phone that supposedly gave details of what the new issue was. It didn't give any clue as to what the problem was. I called Apple, who were equally puzzled and couldn't get any information from the engineers. At this point they told me that they would cover the full cost of the repair - not just the mystery defect, but the original battery The phone was returned within a week, fully repaired, and I was a satisfied customer. Six days later, they took the money from my account despite being told they wouldn't. This put me in a position of having an unauthorised overdraft, with a direct debit for car tax due out the following day. I rang Apple immediately who were most apologetic and promised to refund the money. However, it would take up to 10 days for the refund to appear in my account. I told them that I had direct debits to pay and it was going to cost me money in charges if they bounced. They told me to call back when the charges had been paid, to look at claiming the value of the charges back from Apple. I then called my bank. There was nothing they could do. They put me through to the Visa team, who said the same - as a refund had already been started, they couldn't do anything. I called DVLA (the car tax direct debit was due the next day), who were, surprisingly, the most helpful out of everyone. The unauthorised overdraft happened over the end of one monthly charging period and into the start of the next so it was two months before I could pay the charges and look at reclaiming them. I called Apple today regarding this and they simply weren't interested, claiming they weren't responsible. They said that they'd already refunded the money and they weren't going to pay for any charges that they'd caused. The charges are only £30 but that isn't the point. I believe that they were caused as a direct result of Apple's error. If it hadn't caused so many problems with direct debits etc, I probably wouldn't have bothered about them. But it did cause problems and after having to spend an hour an a half on the phone to them today, I'd like to pursue this. Do I have a case? And if so, how would you recommend I go about it? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.
  13. I've lived in Latin America since I finished university in 2010. Yesterday I was given a letter which had been sent from the UK almost a year ago (dated August 21st 2014) saying my account is in arrears by over 1300 pounds. God knows what that has escalated to by now. A few weeks ago, someone called at my dad's house in the UK looking for me - I'm guessing that that is whatever debt collection agency they've sent after me. 1300 GBP is is pretty close to what I earn in a year in this part of the world (basically a volunteer worker) and I've never earned anywhere near their threshold for paying them back. I think this demand for money has been triggered because there was no contact between me and them throughout 2014 (googling this seems to show that you're supposed to submit forms every 12 months, not that they ever told me that). Obviously I cannot pay them back anything as I simply don't have it, and will not have it for the forseeable future. I've emailed them a response asking them to phone me, but until then I'd appreciate it if anyone could shine some light on what I should be expecting here. Basically, what do I do? And what about if it has gone to debt collectors, which I suspect it has?
  14. I have had a graduate account with Natwest for 2 years and the past year I have been paying interest on £800 on my my £1800 ARRANGED overdraft. It is soon to be converted to a 'Select' account and I will pay interest on the entire £1800 and £6 usage fee a month. I am going to teach abroad for 5 months and I have sufficient funds to pay the interest on this account and my phone bill that comes out of this account as a direct debit! My plan is to do this travelling then either get a job out there and repay my overdraft through that or come home and get a job. I am worrying about what will happen while I am away, I will try and put some money into the account but can the bank just take it off me? If they do and default me what can I do whilst away? I doubt my account will go over the arranged overdraft whilst away as I have some money in it (still overdrawn every month). Thank you for any replies.
  15. Hi Please can someone help.. I entered a payment plan with Andrew James Enforcement last year. I made all payments as agreed until the debt for parking fines was paid off. I recently got sent back to them on missing a payment with my council. to find they are now chasing me and have sent a removal warning \(even though they have never been inside my house) for the debt that has been paid in full. when challenged they state they have never received a payment even though £300 was paid at the point of the payment plan being put in place by the council. I have challenged them on this and have written a letter expressing my concern even included my bank statements to show all payments made during . they responded after 3 chases from me and the execution of their removal notice being sent in the post saying they disagree and refer to the original warrant that remains unpaid and they are unable to access any archived account. Surely this is mismanagement of accounts and they must be accountable. I can prove the monies paid in fact I over paid on the account. I am un clear on how to proceed. I don't really have the cash to employ a solicitor but unless I can get some advice I may have to and have every intension of persuing this until resolved. My nerves are on edge, my daughter is disabled and I also have a physical disability. Please Please Can anybody help?
  16. I've recently come across some concerning information on my Experian credit file which couldn't have come at a worse time (Applying for mortgages) I've recently had a default placed on my file from a company called 'Hoist Portfolio Holding 2 Limited'. I've never heard of this company before, never received any correspondence and my attempts to call them have result in voicemail every time. Having queried this with Experian, i received the following response. "Further to your recent contact, the contents of which have been noted .Please note this account relates to an unpaid finance account, opened on 20th September 2010, a t the address of *** *** ***, with Vanquis Bank. The account defaulted on 6th February 2014 with the balance of £1,251.35. We have reported to the Credit Reference Agency this account is Partially Settled. We trust this resolves your query as we believe the details registered to be correct." Further to this email, I have some background on this 'debt'. It was originally an amount owed to Vanquish who sold the debt to a DCA called The Lewis Group and any attempts to contact Vanquish always referred my back to the DCA. An arrangement was made with The Lewis Group as follows: We can confirm our client will accept payment of £1261.92 in Full and Final Settlement of your account. This will be reported to the credit reference agencies as satisfied with a zero balance. I have the above information confirmed via email and letter correspondence with The Lewis Group but am not slightly worried where I currently stand with this. I've also come to the realization that Experian are not able to do anything but the initial query on this but not remove any Defaults (which was what i thought i was paying my membership for ) I have read up regarding Hoist and the problems others are having with them but I'm not sure which direction I can go with this considering i thought it was all done and dusted when i was dealing with The Lewis Group. Thanks in advance
  17. Hi, I just wanted to check this out, in 2009 I was unfortunate enough to be given a CCJ by Suzuki Finance Limited for a car loan that I couldn't repay which was through Black Horse Finance. I made a payment arrangement and am still paying off the CCJ (which I will be doing until I die as they repayment amount is only £10 per month). I have paid the CCJ every month without fail and it reached 6 yearsicon old earlier this year and was removed from my Noddle account. However, even though I have never missed a payment the entry is also showing in "other accounts" on my credit report and I noticed that last month the default date has been changed to 12/7/12. Can someone advise me if Black Horse or Suzuki Finance (whoever has done this) are allowed to do this please? I have reported the matter to Noddle as default date incorrect and I'm waiting to hear from them. Thank you Maybe
  18. Today I got a letter off Control Account PLC demanding that I pay £26.18 for VAT and Import taxes. I do rember getting a letter off Fed Ex asking for VAT & Import tax a while ago but check eBay and ali express and there was nothing that I had ordered recently (6 months) from outside the EU and I cant even recall ANYTHING being delivered by Fed Ex. I wouldn't mind paying but generally don't they ask for the money BEFORE they hand over the goods and I REALLY cant find anything in my purchase history that matches this, it says not to contact FedEx so I cant even establish dates etc. Any advice would be gratefully received Thanks
  19. Hi All, I received a PCN from euro car parks dated the 23/3/15. I ignored this as I was told this was the correct thing to do. Since, I have received correspondence from control account plc namely the last two were dated 29th May and 15th June respectively. The latter - "act now this wont go away" claims the legal department is now assessing my file with a view to commencing litigation blah blah blah... I was given 14 days to respond but I still haven't done so - mostly through ignorance and workload. I've read that control account plc can't really do much as its upto euro car parks to commence litigation and nor are they debt collectors... - am i right to still ignore this? I only today have had a missed call and a voicemail from control account to my mobile saying call us to pay etc.. (how have they even got my mobile number) The parking event was in a morrisons car park in england. Dan
  20. I got an email just over a week ago from 'alerts@ukmgs.co.uk' informing me that my email address is "currently registered against an active UJ account" "It's been a year since you accessed the account and used it to search for jobs. If you would like to keep this account please take a moment to log in. If you do nothing the account will be disabled within 4 weeks". It has actually been over 2 years since I accessed my UJ account but I do use it for job searches without logging in to it, so they got that part of it wrong. At the bottom it says: "UJ helpdesk, Do not reply to this email unless you are directed to do so as we will not be able to respond. Please use the 'Contact us' facility if you have any further issues or to report this email as suspicious. We will never ask you for your password in an email". ©2013 Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) I have been to the Jobcentre to sign on since receiving this email and not a peep was said about it. I do not intend to take a moment to log in, or to contact them. I intend to do nothing about it and they are more than welcome to disable it, and the sooner the better. Just wondered if anyone else received such good news, or is this some sort of a cunning plan.
  21. Hi all have been attempting to help my daughter sort out her debt problems . Recent success Bryan carter discontinued court claim due to information from this site . We now however have MKDP claiming for old hsbc debt . details below . Current account overdraft shows on CRA as defaulted November 2007 as does flexiloan . Name of the Claimant MKDP LLP Date of issue 08 June 2015 What is the claim for The claimant claims sum of xxxx being monies due from the defendant(s) to HSBC bank plc under a bank account facility regulated by the consumer credit act 1974 and assigned to the claimant on 08/12/011. The defendant(s) s account number was xxxxxxxxx. It was a term of the bank account that any debit balance would be repayable in full on demand . The defendant(s) has failed to make payment as required by the demand for payment sent by HSBC bank plc. The claimant claims the sum of xxxxxxx and costs . The claimant has complied , as far as is necessary , with the pre-action connduct practice direction. What is the value of the claim? 1,761.70 Is the claim for a current account (Overdraft) or credit/loan account or mobile phone account? Overdraft /combined with loan. Account number claim under is current account no mention of loan account number . When did you enter into the original agreement before or after 2007? bank account 2004 / loan 2007 Has the claim been issued by the original creditor or was the account assigned and it is the Debt purchaser who has issued the claim. debt purchaser MKDP LLP Were you aware the account had been assigned – did you receive a Notice of Assignment? unsure Did you receive a Default Notice from the original creditor? unsure Have you been receiving statutory notices headed “Notice of Default sums” – at least once a year ? No Why did you cease payments? Debts were building up not enough money to go round so prioritised to rent and neccesities . What was the date of your last payment? poss 2013 to MKDP under current account number no mention of loan Was there a dispute with the original creditor that remains unresolved? unsure Did you communicate any financial problems to the original creditor and make any attempt to enter into a debt managementicon plan? Yes they offered consolidating loan at payments i could not afford , so i refused . Actions so far are as follows AOS done 13/06/15 , CPR 31.14 to MKDP done 15/06/15 , SAR to HSBC done 15/06/15 . MKDP responded to CPR with copy of terms an conditions effective 1st november 2007 , also copy (looks like computer printout as opposed to original ) of a default notice not signed or dated however the account number on this notice is for the flexiloan account and not the bank current account number of which the claim in the POC is for . It would seem that the two debts have been combined and i would say that MKDP are unaware of this , as they make no mention to the flexiloan in their claim . To sum up looking for some advice as to how to proceed as the bulk of the debt is the flexiloan , and the overdraft is mainly charges . I do not want to accidentlly alert MKDP of their error with the default notice and the fact that the loan has been bundled in with a current account as they make no mention of the loan in their claim . Where do MKDP stand if they continue to court ,and what would be the best way forward IE ask MKDP for cca and informing them about the two accounts being combined (as im pretty sure that the flexiloan was statute barred as of 2013 , however as said earlier 10 pound payment was made to MKDP under this debt after constant phonecalls and hounding but with only the current account details . Would appreciate some advice if anyone is able to offer some as defence is due Friday 10th if i worked it out correctly .

  23. Hello all, Would welcome any views on my current situation with Plusnet. I have had ongoing issues with my broadband and telephone for over a year- I have given them multiple chances to resolve these problems. Eventually I had to email their CEO to force them to engage with me and the fault even investigated. Despite being told multiple times that there were faults external to my property I was repeatedly told to "change your wireless channel". Eventually I had to complain to CISAS. Shortly after my complaint to CISAS, Plusnet removed from their online ticket support system all records of the conversations we had had prior to their being forced to investigate- this included the year long history of my contact, their responses etc. All that remained was the initial response to my CEO email. Since CISAS closed the call - we are awaiting their decision but they will no longer accept further evidence - Plusnet have become increasing more difficult to deal with. Last week they unexpectedly told me that I had an outstanding amount to be paid and they cut my services. There is no outstanding bill and I asked them to raise a bill enabling me to pay this amount, albeit under duress. Since then they have ignored all contact with me and there is no way I can pay this outstanding amount as my account shows no outstanding bill. Today I receive a letter stating "as a result of your outstanding balance your account has been deactivated". They are not responding to any contact from me. I work from home and am a full time carer to my disabled son - who is educated via an online 'virtual' school - and Plusnet are aware of this. Without access to the internet I cannot work and my son cannot be educated. They are now refusing to respond to my many contacts: phone, email and twitter all ignored. I suspect they will continue to ignore me until enough time has passed to close my contract. My main contact there - Matthew Wheeler - has been phenomenally bad at dealing with these issues and now just doesn't respond at all. Avoid at all costs.
  24. Hello everyone im looking for a little help if possible please ive just been declined for a mortgage and after checking all 3 credit reports there is 1 debt and default listed from Vodafone Ltd Gemini on all reports from 2013 for £852 its still listed at my previous address and i have no idea why its showing on my file as defaulted i closed the account fully down before moving abroad due to family problems. They were fully notified along with every other company and paid the early settlement figure over the phone. I have been in contact with vodafone via there chat service and they are stating i just stopped paying my bills and there is no record of me paying off the finial bill or the convo about me moving away. I thought it might have been fraudulent but they went on to rule that out and They are adamant there is nothing they can do and it needs to be paid, im in the process of trying to get bank statements from that time to confirm 100% they took the payment they also said there is no way of having this default removed which seems very wrong if it is proved that i did pay them or if they listen to the phone calls to customer services around that time . I would never have let a £800 debt affect my credit file i even offered to pay it off again today in full and then claim it back once proved but they went onto say even if i did they wouldn't remove it from my file im left in limbo dose anyone have any advice on what steps to now take to get this looked into ?
  25. Afternoon all, been a while but I have a new problem, my wife has cancelled her old contract with Orange as it was too expensive, she had 3 phones on it one for herself and two for the kids, the final settlement figure from Orange came through higher than expected on enquiry she has been told that it was due to charges being added for itemised billing, which she had never agreed to and has taken up with them in the past, sent a SAR to orange which they have sent back and said she has to fill in thier own SAR form, in the meantime they have passed the account to Red Castle Recoveries, she has filled out the SAR form and I have printed off a new SAR letter for her to send them to and also a letter for Red Castle pointing out this account is in dispute and also attaching a letter telling them that their threats of doorstep collection will be reported to the FCA, anything else I can do, she is willing to settle the account in full once she can get a figure which does not include charges for services not requested, regards Purp
