Thank you for that information. I'm going to look in to that now. Seems central bank is getting lots of complaints re irresponsible lending and high interest and charges. Seems then they wash their hands of unpaid debts and let the UK Deal with them! With the help of CWD who can make a killing on collecting by playing on people's fear.

Their debt collectors are based there in the UAE... it has been known before. Worth checking the phone number is actually the banks.

Hzeee How are the bank engaging with you ? Is it by phone, email or post ? What approach are they using? Are you sure it's the bank you're talking to and not the debt collectors as they do lead you to believe they are actually bank employees when they are an outsourced company.

Hzeee Have you got a judgement against you in UAE ? If not it's a very grey area and up to a judge if they will hear a case here in the UK. You will see all the answers on my thread. No one can say for sure what the outcome will be. The more I read the more confused I get but you have to ask the question why if it was so easy don't CWD always take their threats of court claims further ? No one comes back with any updates. Only a few that have said they've been made bankrupt but no actual details of what happened in court!

Well that's what I thought! Surely if they had something better they would have sent it. There has got to be a good reason why they're not sending out more claims. Why has no one ever come back with a result ??

I didn't upload the judgement because it's lots of pages and was busy up loading the witness statement. The reason the claimant got judgement was because the defendant claimed she had paid off the credit card before leaving Dubai but she had no proof of payment. She didn't turn up at the hearing due to anxiety and stress. The judge never questioned jurisdiction but this case went on for a couple of years and I only have the judgement summary so I don't know if it was ever questioned by the defendant ? Getting a bit anxious now.

Rgaine Maybe because your debt is very old they haven't got your paperwork so all they can do is harass you because I'm sure if they couldo make a claim they would.

I see that Andy I was quoting what Tahseel debt collectors in Dubai say on their website and IDRWW must have a relationship with them and when you complain about the treatment from them IDRWW just say sorry nothing to do with us.

They will stop at nothing. Is this Tahseel ? On their website they boast that they increase the psychological anxiety associated with debt and skip tracing where they obtain information such as employment, names and addresses of family members, relatives, friends and ex spouses. They also check assets, bank accounts and much more. They have partners in other countries! Suspect this might be where IDRWW come in.

Versus Would you mind sharing about your dealings with them ?

I've looked up vexatious litigants and I know CWD are not the litigants but from what I've read they encourage the claims and this describes them exactly. See my Daily Mirror link in post 88 Don't know how they get away with it. People need to stand up to them. When they do CWD don't come out well.

I couldn't agree with you more. From what I've learnt about them it's all about the money. They only take on cases where there could be a shed load for them. Peter Coyle and the solicitor that wrote my witness statement are directors of IDRWW debt collectors. Says it all.

Fkofilee I'm worried about that but if I were to return to the UAE I'm likely to be stopped at the airport and detained because yes it is a criminal offence. So how could I return without fear of being arrested? I have been abused by debt collectors in Dubai here in the uk..so much so I had to disconnect my landline. They contacted all my friends on social media saying I was in debt in Dubai. (Very embarrassing ) I hope that I can speak about this. None of it would be allowed in the UK so why should it be heard in a court here?
