  1. Sounds like you've applied for a loan or something very soon after having new number the recycled number would've have been ditched after dead attempts to call it
  2. I7 must be a dv7 or envy I'm guessing unless a super spec ?
  3. £35 for recovery media, thats a nice deal tbh who's the manufacturer bet they would charge 3X that, after my last experience with acer would happily except £35
  4. Ignore it now, they've broken their end of the contract and screwed it further by trying to use SOGA.
  5. If it was an 'Inherent Fault' from point of purchase ..... yes, google the model and see if there was a recall on the product for this exact fault, if there isn't theres your answer, your not legally entitled under SOGA to reimburse and this is simply the item has 'developed' a fault which could be down to wear and tear or neglect, too many people read things on the internet regarding their 'rights' and don't understand them, clearly someone here trying it on just incase they are right. Best of luck.
  6. As part of the setup process you should actually create your own recovery media, so in future may be worth doing that. Saves the retailer getting the stick aswell.
  7. Just so we are clear, was not trying to be unhelpful, and was indeed correct the machine was never touchscreen.
  8. Hang on, Hang on. The TV was fit for purpose because it worked for 22 months, it developed a 'supposed' fault, thats right a fault. and yes software isn't covered under SOGA for many reasons namely computers getting viruses etc. Im not here to troll and apologies for trying to advise you.
  9. As regards the law you have bought the phone and is now 'your' property however they may use this as a if you return we sell for scrap etc. ( Which Is Wrong !! ) By right if you don't get service that is advertised and is posed from EE's coverage checker, but it only lasts for upto 21 days and if coverage was that bad first of all I would have made contact to the network sooner, Saying that in the very grey area they are performing breach of contract and not providing services that were sold and advertised to yourself so may have get out there. But they can't take the phone back you bought it in the contract.
  10. Prepare for WAR, last time I dealt with Vodafone it was 2 months and them eventually settling outside court, I wonder why...
  11. E2 vision chip with a touch screen would be a nightmare, A4 is currently the lowest chipset they use for 'mainstream' touchscreen laptops and have done for considerable time, if you custom built it (AKA not PC World) I don't think its even possible. A range is for high spec and touch, E range is for basic home user. , (Bar one acer desktop on an E1 that got recalled)
  12. At point of sale someone in the store Im sure would have offered alternative insurance for the TV as Currys do and the fact you declined on receipt surely shows you take all responsibility of the actions taken to 'said' TV, Sometimes its worth the extra, have you not home insurance for this?
  13. Software update which user has failed to perform, not really reason for SOGA, but never the less not an inherent fault, As like saying my 35 year old car has very bad tyres now must speak to ford for a repair, Something unfortunately needs an occasional check.
  14. As a first post I will make this informative as possible, The laptop you purchased is NOT and was NEVER a touchscreen, the tutorial service you would have received is based on your machine and your machine only which the touchpad on 'said' laptop would have multi touch gestures and able you to use Windows 8 in a different fashion, you have no right under SOGA as the machine is now nearly 12 months old and you have failed to recognise the machine you have purchased is actually one you probably now know you didn't want and are attempting to change this case. Fact or Fiction? I can only try to help
