  1. Thanks for the reply so quickly. I have contacted PayPlan and asked if they will query the Egg debts. Also with the PPI they seem to recommend Stake your Claim? I wish i had self managed, but at time, i was a bit of a mess and took no notice or interest in it and handed the lot over to Payplan and just paid every month with no thought... Silly and unfortunate, but it was just how it was at the time. Looking to get more of a handle over it now. I will do the subject access request, for the 2 debts that concern me at first i guess is a good place to start. Do i have to contact the DCA's and ask them for information now, or just leave them out of the equation for the time being? Thanks again.

Egg and Egg prudential, one a credit card and 1 a loan.......... confused!!
  3. Hi, I have been with payplan for 8 years, however i am beginning to wonder about the debts im paying. For example i get letters from Activ Kapital offing me a massive 3k discount to settle the debt, then the other day a letter from them charging 1.2k interest on the debt for the year. Also 2 companies on the debt list are charging me for Egg, and Egg prudential which is odd, as i did have a credit card and a loan from Egg, but 2 not 4 so cant figure out why this is. Now i begin to wonder about my other debts, have charges been added etc, are they enforceable. Payplan are ok, but i dont really think they have a proper hold on what these companies are doing. So i would like to investigate the debts myself, find out exactly what i owe and who too, and what charges have been added etc and see if they are enforceable, i really don't know where to start to be honest. Here is a list of my debts. Aktiv kapital and Direct legal collections seem to be charging me for the same debts, although they have different account numbers listed. its a bit confusing to be honest. Can any one tell me where to start? Can i get these companies to prove the debts? and get a breakdown of the debts from year dot? Thank you for any advices offered. 4. Your bank can stop it, and can do chargebacks. You need to visit your bank in person and present them with a letter instructing them not to allow wonga to take payments from your account. They CAN put a block on it. look over the site, lots of info on this. Protect your money, move it to another account if poss. However on a more positive note i have found Wonga very reasonable to deal with with my loan.
  5. ROFL - Tell em to take you to court. Id like to see them tell a judge the above !!
  6. Interesting. Keep us updated as to what Fos said etc. Nice to have an understanding boss for sure
  7. Speak to your bank, tell them to block any further payments going to Wonga. Leave your other PDA payment in place until its paid off them get your bank to block that one also. Then on friday email Wonga with your payment plan. They will take about 5 days to reply but are very reasonable to deal with nowadays. Read other posts on forum for some idea of what to put in the email. But it is important you speak to your bank and get them to cancel the continuous payment authority with Wonga.
  8. Read around the forum mate, there are some very good advices and template letters you can send them. Especially for the phone calls side of things. If you have requested they stop, verbally and or in writing and they keep doing it, its harassment. I have read alot of posts on these forums and there is one theme throughout from the people on here who are in the know. That is "You only owe the original loan plus 1 months interest" and thats it. Have a read around, im sure one of the more experienced forum members will be along to help in no time. Dont let the leeches bully you.
  9. You borrowed £250 and they want £1150 for that debt? I'm not qualified to give advice here, but man, don't pay the leeches another penny. They are using you as a cash cow. someone more qualified than me will be along to give you advice shortly im sure.
  10. Yeah thats what i thought, they answered my reply emaiil, saying thank you for the £10 payment and that they were glad i was keeping to the repayment plan???????????????????? GO FIGURE!! But yeah think you are right, they will constantly try and get debit card details for sure. Just have to stand firm. This forum sure does give you the information to stand up for your rights thats for sure.
  11. From what i can gather they won't entertain a repayment plan until you have defaulted. So you prob have to wait until you default. As for wonga deleting your cards, hmmm, maybe, but don't take any chances, put it in writing to your bank that they are to put a block on any payments that are requested by wonga, and do it for ALL of your accounts. As your payment date is so near, take the letter to the bank. You need to secure your money, open another account that wonga did not or do not have the details for and have your money go in there.
  12. So i make my first payment to Wonga on the 29th October, it was due on 1st November, they then write the below email. Dear Peter, Thank you for letting us know that you'll be making payments to your Wonga repayment plan via Standing Order. This is fine, but please bear in mind that it can take 3-5 working days for a Standing Order to arrive at our bank, so please do allow for this delay when setting it up. For example, if your payment to us is due on the 25th of each month, you would be safest to set up the standing order for the 20th of the month, if your funds allow. If you have any concerns, please ask your bank for advice when setting up the Standing Order. Or if this sounds too uncertain, you are more than welcome to ask us to take automatic payments from your debit card, or even make manual payments yourself, early on the morning of each payment date. You can make payments anytime at the Wonga site, by logging in at https://www.wonga.com/Login.aspx, or by contacting our friendly collections team on 0844 842 9109 between 9am - 10pm, Monday - Friday. We look forward to receiving your next payment and thanks again for working with us to resolve this situation. Kind regards, Collections Department 0844 842 9109 Wonga.com Followed by this one: ear Peter, We really would like to reinstate your previous repayment plan and freeze any further interest once again. In order to get you back on track we simply need to receive the missing payment of £10.00. You can pay this at anytime by logging into your account here - https://www.wonga.com/Login.aspx. You can also update your card details if need be, or add an alternative card. Don't worry if you've forgotten your password, you can request a reset at the login page. We will then reinstate the original agreement and freeze any further interest once again. Alternatively, you can give our friendly collections team a call between 9am - 10pm, Monday - Friday on 0844 842 9109, who will be happy to discuss the situation. We really hope we can get the plan working again soon. Kind regards, Collections Department 0844 842 9109 Wonga.com So it would seem when you actually give them a repayment date, you have to pay 5 days before the due date so your money gets there on the agreed payment date, bit backward if you ask me. Also they have stuck more charges on my account in the form of interest and a £360 loan (£466 due on the repayment date) is not a £522 loan. Where do i stand about paying this extra interest they are adding? I responded with the below email Dear Sirs, With regards to the below email. I made the first payment towards the plan on the 29th of October. The £10 was paid to the account below with the Loan Agreement Ref : 0000xxxxxxxx‏ 31 Oct 12 WONGA 60000000005xxxx2xx 31OCT12 22:22 FPO 10.00 Bank: HSBC Bank Account No: 21544926 Sort Code: 40-06-09 Further payments will be made to your Barclays account, as detailed in a previous email. I note to make payments earlier so that they reach the account on the date stated for repayment. (Although this somewhat defeats the object of giving you a payment date.) Therefore to ensure further payments reach you on time, it may be prudent to move the payment date to the 3rd of the month rather than the 1st. This will give me a full 5 days from receiving my wages and paying you, for it to reach your account. I will repay the original loan amount + the 1 months interest + the £20 late fee. Total amount owed on promise date £466.44 This comprises of: Capital repayment £360.00 Interest repayment£100.94 Transmission Fee£5.50 Owed now £466.44 + £20 late fee = £486.44 I will not recognise any further charges you choose to apply to this account. Regards
  13. They responded to me with the customercare@wonga email address. they were pretty easy to deal with in the end, so hopefully you will also be treated fairly
  14. Call them, tell them its not convenient, and if they wish to have an Agent call at your property they will have to request an appointment in writing, and you will then refuse that appointment in writing, and if the Agent calls without an appointment you will consider it trespassing and call the police. Also put it in writing to them, have them sign for the letter so you know they got it. There is a great letter someone sent a PDL along those lines on this forum somewhere.
