my overdraft is being cancelled
tinkerbell_2k12 replied to tinkerbell_2k12's topic in Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland
The staff in the bank aren't that useful either they just agree no help can be given until it gets to collections, so I've just got to wait around for another 3 days then ring them again to see if theyre willing to come to an arrangement. -

my overdraft is being cancelled

Im starting to get fed up if halifaxs appalling customer service, I've rang them numberous times trying to arrange a repayment plan and all I keep getting is that's not possisble till ur account hits collections. So my overdraft should of been taken away on the 2nd and it hasn't apparently it will happen tonight and I've got to allow them 3 extra days for it to be passed to collections. How much of a hassle is it to sort it out before it had even hit collections, the customer service is rubbish. Then to top it off when I was in their bank today using their phone to ring them the woman in the bank asked if I could go get an overdraft else where to pay halifaxs off I don't know what part of I'm now on income support and can't afford another overdraft she didn't understand......sorry for the rant but I'm shocked how hard they are to deal with -

Thanks for the advice, I moved my benefits when I become unemployed cos it was getting swallowed into my overdraft I've moved my direct debits from that account today too. They advised me to call them back on the 4th of November to see what they can do for me, are Halifax easy to deal with when it comes to repaying debts? -

tinkerbell_2k12 replied to tinkerbell_2k12's topic in Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland
It didn't suggest me to make an offer of repayment it just said the account needs to be back in credit by the 2nd of November, when I rang the bank they informed me they couldnt come to any arrangement with me till the overdraft was removed -

I've been so stupid I should if tried to come to an arrangement when I first became unemployed -
I'm a tad bit worried I got a letter saying my overdraft is being cancelled as of the begining of next month and it needs repaid in full before then. I've been near the top limit of the overdraft since I became unemployed bout a year ago I just didn't have the money to pay it back at that point, I've kept up with the overdraft charges to avoid them recalling it back in full because I.don't have that type of money living in income support, I rang them today to try arrange a repayment plan but they said there's nothing they can do till I've defaulted when they have removed the overdraft, the person did how ever remove any further charges being added to the debt for 6 months. How easy will it be arranging a affordable repayment plan with them once it's defaulted, and why wouldnt they help me before the overdrafts removed?

If you stand your ground they will eventually give up, if you look on my thread about speed credit, i followed all the fantastic advice on these forums and after about a year of being harrassed and not backing down speed credit eveutally knocked all the silly charges off and ndr and marshall hoares have backed off now. You've just gotta stand your ground and get a full complaint put in to the OFT, because they way they trade does not.follow the oft rules -

Dont be scared they have no power what so ever to come into your house, if they turned up tell them to leave and close the door, if they dont leave ring the police and have them removed. Its just a scare tactic theyre using on you. Ive always found it rather funny how they use capital letters to try and intimidate people, theyre a bunch of clowns -
Great thanks for the advice

Should i be trying to have guardsman taken off because its mis sold and not required

Hi I was wondering if anyone could just give me a little bit extra advice cos theres a few things bugging me First i cant complain about scs head office theyve been brilliant as soon as they got the true report confirming manufacturing defect they agreed to replace my sofa which i was very satisifed with. I went to my local store to choose a replacement as they other one was discountinued, they had nothing of the same price that i liked and chose one that cost a little more, but because it cost more they said theyd have to put in on a whole new credit agreement, so new sofa new agreement but the sales man inssisted because i had to take the guardsman policy because it was on the other/old agreement but i told him i didnt wish to have guardsman but he said i cudnt not take it. so anyways he told me theyd arrange to have the funds i paid on the old agreement moved onto the new one, once the sofa was picked up. well i rang the store a few days ago to question if id be payin 2 direct debts in one month ( one on each policy) and how soon the funds would be transferd onto my new account and the old once cancelled, the man was very rude and abrupt and said it was upto me to deal with the finance company and said no one in the store would have said the company would sort it out its not company policy and literally kind of calling me a liar but in his words. The salesman i had seen 100% said the company would arrange everything (i have a witness that was with me) i was left feeling quite upset at how rude the man on the was. so my question is should i have to be paying for guardsman on a new policy when i dont even want it, and is acceptable that two different people in the store have told me 2 different company policies

i got an actual notice of assignment through the post today which i was suprised about. As you've already stated its the exact same address, same bank details, just theyve changed it into web loans processing. , since the bother with my first payment ive had no bother off them what so ever really, the man that was dealing it with took my phone number and email details off the system to stop NDR and MH harrassing me after i complained about it, as im sticking to my repayment plan so why should they harrass me. Fingers crossed that everyone else on here gets sorted becasue we all know what a hassle it can be to deal with them

If you earn over £109 a week from work, then ur employer should be paying you ssp, if that doesnt apply to you, maybes having a word with ur local job centre to see if you can claim ssp from them would be a good idea. Im sure other ppl will be along soon to give some helpful advice -
Just a quick update after 2 weeks of no word back .about my complaint guardsman got intouch to say theyd be reassessing my claim but allow them 4 weeks to do so, scs have been intouch to say theyve been in contact with guardsman ,and will be back in contact once guardsman have reassesed havent heard anything for over a week but its been easter, really keepin my fingers crossed that il get some good news
