  1. Hi, I took out a loan but didn't require it then and withdrew from the loan agreement within 14 days and paid it off in full within the 30 days of the withdrawal notice. The loan is showing as settled under Closed Accounts in my credit file. What is the correct practice here can anyone advise please? I have no issue it showing as a hard search but as I withdrew from the agreement within 14 days of obtaining the loan am I correct in believing it shouldn't show within closed accounts and should be completely removed from my credit file?
  2. I will request all default after the third missed payment date, all being well they will fall off my credit file sometime in 2024. I think this is the best approach as under present circumstances late payment markers will be present on my file until 2029. I haven't sent any of my creditors a CCA. Can you tell me why I should do this?
  3. Currently I am in a DMP with Stepchange they have been fantastic. I entered the DMP in January 2018 and have paid off almost 10k up to now. Most of my creditors defaulted my agreements with them in early 2018 but some are still marking my credit file with a Late Payment entry. Should I ask them to default or just leave it? I won't be debt free under my present circumstances until 2023 when the DMP will be complete. The DMP has given my life back and taken the horrific financial stress away to a large extent. I just want to be in a position when I come out of the DMP that my credit file will be in a better situation not long after that. Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. No problem I appreciate your feedback. I had other multiple PDL's at the time and my CRA was grim to say the least..
  5. I have emailed the company to complain, should I go back to them with a SAR or just go to the FOS now as it looks like they have made their decision? I definitely didn't receive a default notice. The account is repaid in full (including interest).
  6. Hi, I have asked a payday loan company to remove a default entry on my credit file from a few years ago, they have declined stating it would undermine the quality of their data submission to the CRA. In my complaint to them I stated I never received any default notice in relation to this debt, in their reply they didn't admit sending one. As a result I suspect they know they didn't. Do they legally have to send a default notice and should I complain now to the FOS? Thank you
  7. Hi, I am trying to get a default removed from my credit file placed on 12/9/2012 by 1MonthLoan (Think Finance). I have tried to get contact details for 1MonthLoan but the website is no longer live. Can anyone advise who I should send the letter of complaint to regarding this default? Thank you
  8. I have sent my complaint to the FOS with the relevant documentation this afternoon, I will give an update here when I hear more.
  9. Hi, Can anyone advise me please I challenged the Moneyshop with an irresponsible lending complaint last year, they dismissed it no surprise there. However in the meantime after checking my credit reports I have realised they didn’t even carry out a credit check on me at that time I applied for the loan, I had four existing payday loans with four companies then. I am going to complain to the FOS now regarding irresponsible lending by them. They have even placed a default on my credit file regarding this loan which I have now cleared in full. Do I have a good chance of being successful? Is there any template letters I can amend before I sent my complaint to the FOS? Thanks
  10. Thanks for your feedback, unfortunately the six months have passed on most of my complaints now. Is it still worth complaining to the FOS or will it be dismissed as I missed the deadline of six months?
  11. In relation to fos complaints and Payday loans can someone advise me please. I have had some success with two payday lenders I have lent with over the years in relation to compensation received due to irresponsible lending, however the majority just dismissed me denying irresponsible lending. In their response they advised me if I didn't agree with their decision to contact FOS inside 12 weeks. In the end up I didn't contact FOS however I regret this now, my question is can I still go to FOS with these complaints or has the window passed in relation that I missed this 12 week window.

  13. Can anybody advise me please, I have obtained loans from the Moneyshop, Payday UK and Payday Express in the past. Should I contact the Moneyshop or wait on them to contact me regarding compensation due to due to the lender’s debt collection practices, affordability checks and systems errors.
  14. Hi, Currently I have three credit building cards Vanquis - £250, Aqua - £100 and Capital One - £200. I applied for these to rebuild my credit. Can anybody advise me should I pay the three off now and close them which I can afford?keep one and pay in full every month?keep three and pay in full every month?I will keep the three if it promotes my credit better than paying off one in full every month. Any advice would be appreciated please. Do these cards repair a poor credit history which I have at the moment? Thank you
  15. Hi,I too was lent money by numerous payday loan companies even after I defaulted with others and some even lent again after I defaulted with them and paid them back. I realise it was my own choice to take these loans out. Is it realistic to assume these companies would actually agree to compensation?even get a few pound of them would be almost impossible. Any advice please?
  16. Thankfully I can see light at the end of the tunnel with my payday loan nightmare, it really has been a difficult time. At one stage I had 14 payday loans but in a few months they will all be gone. I plan to tell my story and perhaps give advice on getting out of the payday trap maybe sometime in the future. Anyway I bank with HSBC, can anyone please advise what is the best way to get them to cancel CPA on all 14 payday loan companies I dealt with. I just want ease of mind in case one of them decides to dip into my bank account sometime in the future.None have my present card details.
  17. I cannot believe Wonga are putting you through all this hassle, I had an amount outstanding with them of approx £1250 and they agreed to a repayment plan after two emails. They must be changing tact as they were far the most easiest to come to a repayment plan with out of all the payday loan companies I had the misfortune to deal with.
  18. I can only presume it is in place for example if the car was returned damaged they would automatically debit the customers credit/debit card. On return the entreprise employee did an inspection and found no faults with the car and it had the correct amount of fuel as when I hired it.
  19. Hi,Recently I have been involved in a car accident and I was provided by a replacement car from Entreprise who work in conjunction with my car insurance company. I returned the car to them this week with no problem. When I checked my bank account this morning I was shocked to find my account had a transaction debited by Enterprise. I rang and queried the transaction and they thanked me for bringing it to their attention and will refund the money. I am disgusted they have taken the money and only I queried it I would lost (stolen in my eyes) it for no reason whatsoever. Can anybody advise what I should do?Thank you
  20. Hi,I sent Lending Stream a repayment proposal which I deem to be fair, they replied requesting an income and expenditure form to be completed and returned along with a copy of my latest payslip to setup a repayment plan. Since last April I have been making regular monthly repayments on two loans I have with them amounting to approx.£300 each (I defaulted on both at that date). They placed a default on the credit report in the middle of last year which I am gutted about but I admit it is my own fault. Can anyone advise is it possible to get a repayment plan setup with this lot, I really don't want to give them any personal information which will be included in the requested documents. Thanks
  21. Just an update on this issue, I have managed to come to an agreement with Payday Express after a number of phonecalls to their collection team over the last few days I was lucky and spoke with a very friendly and understanding person (the previous ones just fobbed me off and wanted full payment there and then). After our conversation the PDE employee emailed me the agreement plan as requested and I have made my first payment this morning. I can see light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in a year!keep trying and with a bit of luck they will eventually agree to a repayment plan.
  22. Thank you for your advice, I will probably contact Payday Express tomorrow to clarify who actually owns the debt and offer them the same repayment plan I agreed with Scotcall (6 x £55). If they state I must deal with Scotcall I will do as I wouldn't be one bit surprised if they both wanted money from me. Suppose I am good example of someone who has got into the Payday loan trap and doing my best to get out of it but these companies don't want to let go..
  23. The name on the default is Express Finance. I called Payday Express yesterday and I was told to pay Scotcall as they apparently work in conjunction with Payday Express. I asked the person in collections when I paid the total amount outstanding to Scotcall would the default entry change to satisfactory on my credit report I was told it would. However I am not 100% certain this will be the case, maybe i'm being a little pessimistic but I sincerely hope they will mark it as satisfactory when fully paid. I just want to clear the outstanding debt but if I now break an agreement with Scotcall and just pay Payday Express it may get messy again. I am very confused? my first payment to Scotcall is due end of next week. Any advice please:|
  24. Its with a DCA called Scotcall. Should I contact Payday Express for confirmation who I should pay?they are horrible to deal with. I can take it they passed my debt onto Scotcall, what happens in this case does the total amount owed to them still exist are do they close the account when they sell the debt on?
