  1. Think villa can cause an upset here. Have backed them at 20/1 on betfair and a little on the draw at 9ish. City may well win but think those prices are way too big. City not exactly been impressive of late. Can see it being quite nervy tonight. At these prices you'd assume 3-0 or bigger but think IF city win, it will be by one goal holding on at the end
  2. They did park the bus but madrid smashed rrigt through it
  3. Aqua have now written the debt off and closed the account based on medical evidence supplied at their request. Letter will be kept safe. We are not out of the woods yet but goes to show that some creditors are sympathetic to certain circumstances. Bravo to barclaycard and aqua in this case
  4. Looks like it liverpool have got this by 2 or 3 points when citeh drop points at goodison.
  5. Mike, many thanks for your input. Useful contacts at all/of the mentioned creditors would be useful. As barclaycard took the time to consider the medical evidence submitted, I think it would be worth asking the others to look also
  6. Lloyds haven't responded and that is the main one (overdraft, loan, credit card) Barclaycard have said that they do not plan to pursue the debt but reserve the right to if circumstances change (a bit like a write-off but not quite). Very good news. The rest have are, at least temporarily, accepting reduced payments out of the £20 spare he has each month. Standing orders have been set up and we plan to manage them and respond to enquiries they make going forward. So, almost there, but not quite. Lloyds could be a problem.
  7. 6 out of 10 have accepted a reduced offer. The biggest one has asked for a medical report which has been supplied. Lloyds have not responded yet Am on my way to visit the family so will be getting a full update later! Happy easter
  8. Chelsea got no chance at anfield though.
  9. Just a case of winning distance for Liverpool now. It's all over
  10. The game at anfield is obviously key and liverpool look more up for it. City running scared and couldn't even beat arsenal
  11. In my opinion, this sounds like a flexing of muscle based on both side's ignorance of the legal system. Bluff imo and if defended intelligently, he will back off. Just trying to make you go away and to scare you into submission. Libel law is very complicated and requires barristers who have to prove a loss. Going to cost him 10s or even 100s of thousands to pursue. This is just my two cents worth, not advice. Pls follow other's opinions over mine.
  12. Currently 15/8 and considering trading out after west ham game assuming they win. I honestly think that liverpool deserve to go all the way and I am a united fan. Chelsea and arsenal not ready and despite being champions recently, there are a lot of new players at city who don't know what it takes. But pressure can do funny things....
  13. All liverpool fan friends have been down talking it until they won at OT. Now it's got serious. Pressure is now on but good pressure to have!
  14. If he wants to sue for libel, he will need deep pockets
  15. Absolutely and they used to have the honour of being the best domestic team until a few years ago. Might win it this year too. Have a bet at 12/1 that they do.
  16. ...and a request for reimbursement for trustonline? ☺
  17. United the only club managing to prop up the reputation of the premier league on a continental level at the time of posting this!
  18. First important step is to self exclude on all gambling websites you use. You will then be prevented from betting. Read this http://www.gambleaware.co.uk/confidential-support-and-advice/self-exclusion
  19. A default on a credit file does indeed put pretty much all creditors off lending but I really think the public need educating about how credit reporting works. There is no "list" I am certainly in agreement with that martin lewis guy when he says we should teach personal financial management in schools. Way too much misconception out there imo
  20. Good to see this ruling. Well done Richard. I notice that nearly all newspapers and media outlets are saying: "hfc put him on the credit blacklist for several years" I thought there was no such thing so why does the mainstream media spread this myth.?
  21. General info: Wilkin Chapman Grange are a Solicitors firm who act on behalf of Arrow Global. It's a legal outsourcing deal but in reality, Arrow provide most of the content for letters/correspondence, but the deal means that WCG's letter head is used. WCG have a small team that specifically manage the Arrow Global Account. WCG are not a debt purchaser. A key reason why Arrow use WCG is that it looks a bit more serious to the debtor when they receive a letter from a firm of solicitors. I see the advice about checking the validity of the CCJ, something worth doing. Correct me if i am wrong but as the CCJ was registered at an old address, this means that the defendant had no chance to defend so a setaside could be an option. if successful, it could mean that the CCJ is made null and void and turn the clock back to the time when you had the option to pay off the debt in full. if you have the money, this would clear the debt and as the CCJ is reversed, this would be removed from your credit report. Anyone (CAGGERS) think this is a possibility? Obviously the OP would have to explain why it has taken so long to act.
  22. General question for legal minds In the betting industry, many of the leading companies are based in Gibraltar so that they can avoid paying the horse racing levy and save costs. If a dispute arose between such a betting firm and a customer (based in England) and the betting firm issued a claim, what would be the key differences to defending such a claim compared with being sued by a UK company. i.e. would the customer/defendant have to go to Gibraltar, CPR differences etc Example - Betfair http://www.betfair.com/aboutUs/Terms.and.Conditions/ Governing Law and Jurisdiction If you reside in the UK: these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Gibraltar; and the courts of Gibraltar have non-exclusive jurisdiction in relation to all disputes under these Terms and Conditions.
