job share sickness cover
Grotesque replied to justme16's topic in Employment and minimum wage problems
I think what I would be asking is- rather than the contract's not stating that they can vary your hours, that it doesn't state you are even job-sharing. In other words, what 'are' you, by default? -
Yes this is no longer a time where people can just be told to empty their desks into a bin bag and be summarily dismissed. They can be summarily suspended but only, as MZ says, as part of a wider process. And frankly, if it is a big, supposedly 'reputable' employer, that better be the ACAS disciplinary code or similar or they stand little chance of success at an ET.

And it is common practice to not provide representation for issues that occurred or existed prior to the join date: as it would be unfair to existing members.- 19 replies

Yep, sounds right. On a lighter note, remember that one- , "When asked, 'what would you do if you saw Tony Woodley staggering down the road?’ Derek Simpson replied, ‘Reload.’”- 19 replies

The union they are discussing is UNITE; I'm not quite sure why anyone should be particularly reticent about that. Unless for reasons of embarrassment maybe To the OP: how do you mean, 'both disciplinary meetings'? Aren't you attending one investigatory hearing at this stage?- 19 replies

SouthWestTrains impending prosecution

I think their address etc is here somewhere, buried in a morass of other threads about... SWT ...but if contact their "customer services" they should either give you any oother contact details Revenue have, or, more likely perhaps, pass on the substance of your problem to them: who may then re-contact you. http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/contact-us-form.aspx customerrelations@swtrains.co.uk At the moment they can proceed in your absence, unless you- 5 replies
