Recently received another letter from The Halifax stating that they would not refund all the charges asked for since the account opening ( less than six years) and they are refering me to the Financial Ombudsman. what to do now?

sent LBA letter on 19/04/06, received a reply yesterday from Marcus Golby (head of service delivery and change) saying that they don't agree with my contention about the charges etc etc. goes on to state: However I am obliged to advise you of your right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, as this letter constitutes the Banks final response. Received a letter from the Halifax yesterday dated 29/03/2006 saying that they would provide the statements for the last six years and that there would be a £5.00 charge for these. They have asked for authority to debit my sons account for the £5.00. ( The account hasn't been open for six years) It also states in the letter "that the majority of transactions on your account are automated and all application of charges is automated.The only manual intervention around charges would be when a refund is made"
