  1. go for it, what they going to do take you to court for their nefarious charges, doubtful, alternatively send them a letter and demand that they supply a statement of accounts and then get them to "explain" the added charges, see what pathetic excuse they come up with. and Cancel that Direct debit
  2. and definitely not by direct debit, this gives them carte blanche access to your bank account and they can up the payment when they feel like it
  3. probably a recycled mobile number, inform the phone provider and get them to sort it

  5. why not simply phone the original creditor and try to come to some agreement, at the very least get a statement sent to you from them
  6. if you (the debtor) does not confirm in writing or pay's noything towards a debt for 6 clear years (5 in scotland) then the debt is stat barred, it matters not one iota if the creditor continues to pester you

  8. tell them that the payments set by the court still stand and you will not be increasing the payments, nor will you be sending any financial details to them
  9. far as I know the debts are not associated with an address, so unless you are lonked financialy with your OH then your debts will not effect his rating
  10. One letter was all it took, politley pointing out that PPi for a housewife (as stated on the application form) was not really going to be much use, so basically they did not have a leg to stand on
  11. I used various spreadsheets available on both here and other sites and worked out what had been paid and when and then added the 8% interest - in fact I was over £70 short of what they came back with.

  14. ask them for their complaints procedure for daring to assume that you are who you may not be, and that using members of the public to act as tracing agents for a low-life debt collector is both embarrasing and beneath your morals
  15. credit service association - in name only - they are a sop created soley to please the oft and to employ put out to pasture old debt collectors, and are of no use to the consumers what-so-ever

  17. write to experien and get a notice of correction put on it, stating that this company has never contcted you about this and that allowing companies to place defaults willy nilly on peoples reports is both unfair and unjust and that a letter of complaint about both lowells and experien is winging its way to the information commisioners office
  18. Yeah it would cost them too much in litigation to proceed and prove a non existant payment
  19. LOL - I would question why they are offering a reduction of £4.7k on this before I even replied to their threat-o-grams
  20. ignore them and raise an official complaint with BT, and when they respond if not satisified contact ofcom

  22. agree with stigman - make sure that the letter states FULL and no further action will be conducted on the remaining amount - trust a dca as far as you can throw a car, in other words dont trust them at all
