Cattles PLC - Proposal to close Welcome Car Finance

RNS Number : 2770R Cattles PLC 28 April 2009  28th April 2009 CATTLES PLC Proposal to close Welcome Car Finance The Board of Cattles announces its proposal to close its direct distribution car retailer, Welcome Car Finance. This decision has been taken to further conserve cash and improve liquidity within the business. Welcome Car Finance has traded successfully during 2009 selling the stocks of cars it had from the end of last year without the acquisition of any new vehicles. However, without additional funds to acquire new stock, the business model will become unviable and it is likely that Welcome Car Finance will start to absorb cash. Consultation with employees has begun over a reduction of around 130 jobs within the Group. The costs of closure are estimated at £5 million. The Board has previously reported that it believed Cattles was in breach of covenants under its borrowing arrangements. Cattles continues in discussions with its banks and the holders of its outstanding Eurobonds and US Private Placement Notes. Management is working closely with its debt providers to sustain their support for the Group's programme of action to stabilise its financial position. Oh yes ..Direct Group...who when I tried to cancel the PPI recently told me to go back to Welcome as they are responsible?

Well I got my reply today, in regard to Mis sold PPI. The reply from Compliance states; We were not involved in the original sale of your policy. We simply provide the finance, which includes the insurance premium (), and arrange the cover with the insurers as instructed by your broker. I purchased the car from UCan/Carcraft, and I have been told to contact them in Lancashire. I am totally confused as to who I have to take this complaint to now.

Well this morning, checked my Credit Report! And the Welcome agreement has been ammended to the correct 48 months instead of 49, as they first stated on the report!! But they still entered a default against for missing 1 payment!

Well my file is showing as 1 default, and that was updated 12/04/09. No deafult letter sent though.. And file states 49 months not the 48 when I took out the loan!! And I have sent a CCA request, so will wait and see what happens.

Well I certainly hope that come Monday they are signing on for JSA..!! I for one am just going in Battle with them..they are so dense!! My trespass letter I sent seems to have gone out of the window...need to do a follow up, the reply letter claimed they visited once, yet I had 2 letters from them!! Its because they can't contact me by telephone !! to right they can't!!
