  1. If the Local Council make a mistake with Housing Benefit are they the same as HMRC it is still my responsibility for their errors?? thank you FS
  2. Old Cogger thanks for your reply with CEO details,Will use straight away Regards FS
  3. needed an Interim Service ASAP,checked online Kwick Fit, cost advertised £69.95,phoned local branch they could do this in 4 days time, which was just OK, and they repaired a puncture as well,on returning home I found that they had charged £99.95,for the service element, phoned them and the branch stated if I had booked online it would have been a week before the service could have been done. Not Happy sent of the online complaints form to head office, stating you cannot advertise a price online and then allow your branch manager to charge what he likes, they say I should have arranged a reduction in price with the Branch Manager. The fight goes on,Perhaps next move Trading Standards Will never go back again FS
  4. the Amazon supplier is "Slamtech",I am about to take this up with Amazon ,as you can imagine not happy Bankfodder thanks for your response FS
  5. My wife purchased a heated hair roller through Amazon,October 2015,it was sent direct from an Amazon Supplier,it is now faulty and the supplier has stated their T&Cs make it clear that after 31 days No refund is available, and I will have to pay for sending the item back and if, they decide to replace it, they will charge postage, before dispatching the replacement, also they cannot guarantee that the replacement will be the same make as the original. The model in question is still made by the maker and is a current model. I thinks their T&Cs are not enforceable because of SOGA ,any thoughts on this subject please?? FS
  6. Argos have the right to refuse selling the item to you, however email their CEO in this case and see if they will honour your purchase,it may depend on just how many other potential customers tried to purchase the item at the £19.99 price
  7. Many thanks for your response dx100 and citizenB both points very helpful FS
  8. Have had a reason to check my Credit Rating with 3 CRA's it appears my address is different slightly to that recorded on the Electoral Roll. I have asked the Council to Amend the address which they have confirmed they will do, but it will not happen with the CRAs until March 1st as I have just missed the cut off date. I did not tell the Council that the reason for the amendment was because the CRAs have the wrong address and they tell me they automatically advise CRAs with new or amended addresses without permission from myself.. Like millions of people I have advised the Council that I do not want any commercial organisation to have access to my address. To my way of thinking CRA's should not have access to any address without permission of the person concerned. Apparently Electoral Roll Registration can affect your credit rating. Does this sound correct?? FS
  9. Bazooka, thanks for your response FS
  10. Not really happy with their offer but cannot see any alternative but to accept FS
  11. Trading Standards referred me to Citizen Advice who confirmed as the appliance was purchased prior to September 2015 it is governed by SOGA and not the Consumer Act 2015.AO.com state that I would have to prove the part was faulty at the time of purchase,as I have had over 2 years usage of the appliance without a problem, but as a gesture they would pay 50% of the call out and new part, they take the attitude that the appliance was fit for purpose and a fault that occurs 2 years later does not cover the not fit for purpose clause.AO.com have made clever use of the wording of SOGA FS
  12. Bazooka thanks for your response, you have confirmed what I very much thought was the case.I will contact TS,the fault is apparently not a very common one Thanks again FS

    AO.com

Fridge/Freezer purchased from AO.com,June 2013, now not working, they suggest you contact the manufacturer for the repair,or they will arrange the repair through the manufacturer for you. This happened and the fault is on one of the circuit boards which they have ordered,7 days after the spare part being ordered they have advised me that the part is faulty it will be another 10+ days, they want to charge £75+vat for the call out and charge for the part which they have not a clue on the price of the part.Naturally I am totally unhappy and have told AO that I do not propose to pay for the call out or the part.I further advised them under SOGA the appliance was not fit for purpose and I want it replaced or repaired within 48 hours,I further want the cost of the frozen food refunded as the value of the food was just below the excess charge on my insurance, they continue to say it's out of warranty and they will review my costs and make a contribution towards the repair, which I have said is unacceptable and I am not interested in their warranty SOGA clearly state the goods must be FIT FOR PURPOSE and the appliance falls short on all counts,it appears they are not up to speed regarding SOGA.???? best way forward
  14. It really does not matter,Amazon or any shop, can refuse to sell the item to you,the price shown is only an invitation to buy. The legal aspect involved is stupid and most NOT ALL companies will honour the price,Amazon, depends on who you are buying it from Amazon Direct or another Seller FS
  15. Barclaycard debt has been sold to Link and Link Financial Outsourcing are dealing with the payments, which I pay through a DMP,they have sent me a statement of the last 7 payments which are on time and up to date, however they also state the outstanding balance has now become due as I failed to maintain the payments in accordance with the terms of the Original agreement, and they suggest I phone them,(which obviously I will not do),is this their standard threat, any body had dealings with this organisation?? FS
  16. Many thanks for your reply, worth a shot as I no longer have any hard copy details, but remember the companies in question Thanks FS
  17. Are we approaching the time when a finish date for claims for PPI will be issued? If unsure whether you had PPI is it best to register by letter a potential PPI claim to avoid being caught out by an end date. Is there any way of going back to old Credit Card and Loan companies without the agreement details, and checking whether you had PPI?? FS
  18. thanks for your response,I will write to them and see what reaction it throws up Regards FS
  19. Old CCCS now Stepchange have used them since 2009 and they have been OK, but for sure they will not help to challenge any debts. Have claimed back all PPI and charges, now paying 5 creditors £5 a month each. I have asked the question, have they attempted to suggest that this small amount cannot be worth their while collecting as it must cost each creditor or DCA more to administer, example LINK send a receipt each month for £5 through the post, has anybody had any success with getting these debts written off ?
  20. Sounds like a result, hope all goes well with the repair,YES they look at these forums. FS
