  1. The details were set up by phone and i have the letter to check details on late April 2016, so no signed letter of contract.
  2. I am looking for the original letter which i saw a few days ago. The brochure ssates that if i cancel early True Telecom can ask for the monthly fee up to the end of the contract be paid. I have not found any paperwork with terms and conditions with my signature attached, and do not recall signing any, i believe it was done over the phone and i signed the direct debit form, it may be on that. I dont remember getting a debit mandate form, i beleive it was set up on the phone, The new deal was set up on the phone, So there is probably no signed T&C with True Telecom
  3. Im doing a search, One set of terms and conditions i dont have is from Chess as they never sent any, their early termination fee is £472 I will post True telecom terms and conditions when i find them. Cancellation If you wish to end your contract with us, You may do so by giving us at least 10 working days written notice before the end of any contract period, or the agreement end date. The contract started in early February 2016.
  4. Yes i believe i have the terms and conditions.
  5. I recently found an unread email saying that Chess had taken over from True Telecom, i was not asked to sign or agree.
  6. Thanks fkofilee, I did not agree to Chess taking over our services.
  7. Around 18 months ago i agreed to a three year Landline and Internet contract with True Telecom, which i soon regretted , The internet was weak and the lower prices that i was assured were not to be ( read the small print i suppose ). A few months ago i saw a direct debit set up on my account from Chess Ltd ?. I looked them up and asked who are you ? I was told that Chess had taken over the service from True Telecom. I noticed the service prices going up, yet we hardly use the landline and had the same weak internet router and service. A couple of weeks ago i got a call from a broker who offered me a deal with one of the big providers for around a third of the cost and much better internet and i agreed. A few days later i received a letter from Chess regarding the switch of service informing me of an early termination fee of over £400 pounds. I contacted Chess telling their representive that i dont have any agreement with Chess and was told that Chess purchased the account and i would owe the amount, I was then offered a deal of cheaper service though not as low as the amount on offer through the broker and a new 18 month contract with Chess which was not on with me. The new provider took over yesterday, We now have much better broadband and the phone is ok. Do i need to pay Chess at all and if so as much as over £400 pounds and if so can i pay instalments ?. All advice welcome folks.
  8. I received this week the documents from the SAR, and the cheque from Bradford & Bingley the next day. Thank you to everyone who have contributed to this thread.
  9. I have received a letter today from Bradford & Bingley confirming that i did pay PPI and an offer of compensation which states the amount Plus gross interest at Court Rate of compensation up to july 2017 Less tax deducted from interest at 20% Redress Offer. I also have the contents of the Subject Access Request. Many thanks to everyone who has helped here on CAG.
  10. I received a phone call from Bradford & Bingley yesterday and was asked questions and informed that the call is recorded, I was told that i did pay PPI for some of the time and asked questions that might be designed to attempt them from not paying, such as, How long have you been self employed ? answer 41 years, Did you have savings to cover you when you were signed off work ?, answer, Why am i being asked this question ? I have never been off work long term. All advice welcome please.
  11. Hi montyp and welcome to CAG. I do not have any experience with Decrees, however someone with knowledge will answer this for you. In Scotland an unpaid debt becomes extinct after five years of non payment, Statute barred does not apply here as the debt no longer exists.
  12. I sent the subject access request. I used to have Bradford & Bingley shares, which were taken off the stock exchange when Bradford & Bingley were baled out by government i wonder if those shares will at sometime re appear, Has anyone any knowledge or advice on this ?.
  13. Thanks dx I do not have a personal cheque book, can the SAR be paid by bacs payment or do i need to send a postal order ?, all advice welcome.
  14. Thanks dx I will get the SAR sent. The forms do look like loaded questions such as are you employed, self employed, not working, retired. What was your reason for borrowing the money/ etc. Questions of information that they hold in file, so i will senf for the SAR.
  15. I am going through the procedure with help from CAG to try and reclaim PPI for a mortgage which was paid in full last year and have got a reply and forms to fill and return, and my id was confirmed over the phone, so it sounds like Mint are trying to give your GR the runaround and put her off proceeding for PPI.
  16. I have received a reply from Bradford & Bingley as follows Thank you for your recent communication. I am sorry that you are unhappy and would like you to know that your complaint is being investigated through our internal complaints procedure. A leaflet explaining how this works is enclosed for your information. To enable us to fully understand and investigate your complaint, please can you complete and return the enclosed questionnaire within the next 14 days. It would be helpful if you could complete this questionnaire for all PPI policies that you hold. If you are not able to answer all the questions, please complete as much as you can. Please note that if you do not return this information, we will only be able to investigate your complaint using the information you have already supplied, as well as any information we hold on our records. Our aim is to handle your complaint fairly and quickly in line with the financial conduct authority,s requirements. We are allowed up to eight weeks to investigate your complaint and issue our final Response and we will endeavour to do so within this time period. Yours sincerely. I have got forms to fill and return to B & B, should i send for the SAR now or wait till the outcome of their procedure ? All advice is welcome thanks.
