As the author of this thread I have just given it a go. When I click on the thread tools button I get 3 options, show printable version, email, and subscribe/unsubscribe from this thread. There is no admin option for me. So is there another way for me to change my titles as in the last forum or do we have to go through admin and mods to get them to do it for us? Could see that getting really busy Other than that is it going to be multiple threads per subject? ie each time there is an update, new thread?

Not an attemt to shoot you down or be the dissenting voice here, but..... Many people are here because the banks are taking them for every penny they have got. If they see this service available but its going to cost £5 or £10 they are going to be put off. While I know it is a fantastic service I would have shyed away from it had there been a subscription charge. Bovvereds suggestion of a donate feature is a much better option as it allows users to access the site, get the tools tehy need to get their money back and then from that money make a donation to help others

Natalie v Halifax - SETTLED IN FULL

No they cannot do this. They also cannot charge more than it costs them to return a direct debit -
Welcome and can I be the first to say spend 2 days reading the FAQ section. There is more information in there than you ever thought you would need. Its worth reading and then reading again. Many of your questions are detailed in there. Take your time and do it right, and good luck

As far as Im aware its not who you have sent it to that matters. Its how you made the request. As long as you have made the request under the DPA any company, beit bank or finance house or local hairdresser has to provide the info you ask for within the 40 day time limit.
-
Step 1. Report them to the IC as they have not complied with the time limit set by DPA requests (you did have DPA request on the top of your letter didnt you?). Step 2. Pick a sensible figure and send them a prelim letter demanding it back. Its then up to them to dispute the amount, at which point you can ask why they did not provide the evidence of charges when originally asked for it. (You did send by recorded/special delivery didnt you?)

Investors Report - Thanks to ispartacus75

I think that as the bank realise we aint lying down on this one and we can work out the crap they send us they will try and change to format in an effort to confuse. No doubt someone at Halifax has seen this thread and now knows we worked out how to read it. Each time they change the format/what they send us the 'tutorial' for decifering it needs to be updated. Its all good stuff -
And what does this have to do with Halifax?
-
Maybe not, but it would make a damn good advert lol

Ive got the ships wheel from the Titanic. I think thats why they couldnt turn the damn thing:rolleyes:

I have 3 claim threads on different parts of the forum and I was editing the thread titles to reflect the changes in teh claim over time. However since the change in software I am no longer able to chage the thread title. If I click on my first post in the thread and try to edit the title it just gives the first post its own subtitle. Is this a new feature (non-feature) of the new forum software or just a glitch in the system? The threads in question can be viewd from the links in my signiture.

Investors Report - Thanks to ispartacus75

Thanks for bringing this up. I must claify this. DNT1 is the interest on your account. If the amount has a D next to it its being taken from your account (interest charged). If there is no D it is interest credited to your account (earned on a positive balance). I based my instructions for the Investor Report on my own investigations of the paperwork. In my case I do not have an overdraft of any kind so any interest debited was to do with going overdrawn even a penny. Where there is an authorized overdraft in place I believe matters will be a little more complicated. I can honestly say I dont know. I supposed if you could find out how much interest you pay on a month without any charges in it (this amount would purely be genuine interest owed on a standard overdraft) and deduct that amount from the amount of interest charged for unauthorized overdrafts this will give you a near as damn it figure for the interest charged that can be claimed. This is going to be pence either way so its up to you as to whether its worth just reclaiming the charges alone or doing the extra work for a few pence of interest. Hope thats of some help. -
you have been answered twice so far THE CHARGES ARE AGAINST THE LAW They are breaking the law by applying the charges whether its in their terms and conditions or not[/b]

you go to the very first post in your thread and click on the edit button. This lets you edit not only the post but the thread title. As far as I know it only works on the first post in the thread tho.

Interesting post. Can you expand on this at all? Can you quote the case law for us as this would be very useful in court. I dont know how many times Ive gone £10 overdrawn and been charged £28 for it. Theoretically your arguement would apply to about 95% of my charges
