  1. First of all they cannot levy your debts against your father unless your father was already a guarantor on your account (dont even know if it applies to accounts, it can apply to loans). Second of all..... If ithis is a verbatim quote from the woman on the phone you NEED a transcript of this conversation. 'These charges are a deterant' This is what we have been looking for isnt it? Someone to admit that the charges are there as a deterant/penalty. Someone correct me if I am wrong
  2. You are in the situation where you have all of your statements, therefore there is no need for you to request them. Just add up what they have charged you and proceed directly to step 2. The request is there for people who have not kept their statements, or not kept all of them going back 6 years. I have had my account for nearly 10 years and havent kept all of my statements. I only keep 2 years at a time (wish I had kept more now). But there you go. In your case proceed directly to step 2
  3. Is there chapter and verse that I can quote to them as they are insisting that they are allowed to charge £4 per bill (and I want 10!!)
  4. Is the £10 charge for DPA requests part of the DPA or is the charge (and amount) at the discretion of the companies? And does it cover telephone bills (as in getting them from my phone company)?
  5. Im sorry waynus, but in answer to the question that started the thread YOU ARE STUPID. Or at least not very well informed. What you have been describing is NOT stealing or theft or whatever you want to call it and heres why. The LEGAL defenition of theft is as follows: The dishonest appropriation of property belonging to another with the intention to PERMANENTLY deprive the other of it. There are 7 specific points in the previous defenition. ALL 7 have to be proved to convict of theft. As there is no provable intention on the part of the account holder to permanently deprive the bank of its money noone would ever be convicted of theft or stealing or whatever you want to call it. Now I would appreciate it if you would kindly slide back behind your desk and contemplate those 'Greyhound Tracker Mortgages'
  6. As this is not concerning banks I have decided to post here. Im interested as to whether the info on the site is only valid for bank or credit card companies. Can it also be used against loan companies or finance companies who like to send out their costly letters any time a payment isnt made. Lets not forget that its not just the banks that charge us when a payment isnt made. I missed1 car payment due to insufficient funds and the accumulated costs (charge from bank(took me overdrawn) further chage for unauthorized overdraft, charge by finance company) was over £110, FOR 1 PAYMENT!!!!! I would like to hear what the forum views are on this.
