that's the thing, checking older credit files from all the three main companies Experian never showed it, Equifax did but it had 2008 settled date, Callcredit never showed. However Muckyhall were all over this one some time ago. Very Strange.

After reading my credit file from Experian and Equifax I see the Vanquish listing has disappeared? So I'm thinking about not sending the SAR at all now.
-
First of all I would check the original Barclaycard default date as HFO are known to register there own when they take over the debt. When they are informed of this, its the normal response of "an administration error". You can only be CCJ'd once for any debt, if this CCJ is to be re-registered they have to go back to court to do so, and I do not know of one case where this has happened. HFO are full of it and love to send silly letter which hold no weight, so don't worry to much.

why is the Cabot trace still showing on my file then some 3 years later?
-
Received the Equifax report today finally, seems lots missing from a report from Jan, some were due to drop off others have just disappeared. Mucky Hall are searching, as are Crapbot. I recently purchased a product (with no credit facilities) from Apple and they have searched for an Identity check using 192-Business. 192.com were written to some time ago infroming them to remove ALL my details from their systems. How long do the trace searches stay on file as one from Cabot is from 2009? Are trace searches visable to lenders.

Removing 2 defaults from my credit file
247orbital replied to coll2900's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
There can only be one default date for each debt and thats the original creditors default. In your case Citi and Alliance & Leicester. Which ever DCA took over the debt takes over control of the CRA listing. They can not however register there own default dates. It is common knowledge that they often do when they take over the debt, thus increasing the time scale which they can ruin your CF. My advise would be to SAR Citi and Alliance & Leicester. If what you say above is correct the Citi account defaulted in 2004 thus becoming statue barred in 2010 as long as no payments or admissions of the debt were made (in writing) The Alliance & Leicester account will become SB next year 2012 some time. -
I'm writing to Barclaycard to this address is it correct? Brian Rivett Data Protection Team Dept LRC Barclaycard 1234 Pavilion Drive Walk Northampton NN4 7SG

they do actually state on their website that they respond to request for credit files in 7 business days.
-
This was originally sent in April. I will re-send to the Bradford address.
-
I sent the SAR request to: Data Controller Vanquish Card Customers Services PO Box 399 Chatham Kent Also not had the return call which comes as no surprise really.
-
Nope same address. I spoke to them today and they still can't find any trace of any account relating to me so I told them why is there information on my credit file. The person who deal with this is supposed to be calling me back today but I very much doubt it. Not sure really which way to go with this one, any suggestions?

I got through on 0800 1214752 it was an American woman, nice to know our information has no international boundaries with Equifax. I was told another 7-10 business days! If it arrives by then it will have taken 6 weeks for them process my application. Not good enough.

I recently sent Equifax a £2 cheque for my credit report which has been confirmed as cashed by my bank. This was sent mid September and the cheque cashed late September. To date I have still not received my report. I was under the impression that the CRA had 7 days to send my report? If anyone has a contact telephone number so I can pursue this I'd appreciate it.

I believe that when the debt is sold to a DCA the balance will show as Zero. The OC default information and CRA listing will then be taken over by the new owner of the debt in your case Lowell's. However only the original default date from M&S is the one which should be listed by Lowell's they can not list a new default date. However they often do and put this down as "an administration error". So always check.

I'm having problems with Vanquish card and a recent SAR that was sent to them. The cheque was returned to me with just a compliment slip which stated that an account number was required in order to process the SAR request. I did provided them with plenty of my personal information like DOB etc and even a copy of a recent bank statement. The Vanquish account is very old, 2004 and yet the Experian listing is showing as Settled in 2008? I had Mucky Hall chasing this about a year ago but I'm certain it was settled with Vanquish themselves. Hence why I want the SAR in order to clarify the exact dates as I'm well aware how DCA's can be less than honest with default dates etc.

Help? How to remove a default when living in Oz
247orbital replied to bigdaddy36's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
Why would you even come back from Australia? You must be mad. -
As ever with HFO always check the original default date. I can't stress how important this is as they are less than honest with these and often just make there own up when they take over the debt.
-
Send a £2 cheque and wait. They are supposed to send you it in 7 days but I 've just seen today that the cheque was cashed and when was sent on the 7/09. CRA's a law unto themselves.

I have had a recent credit report from Experian which shows 3 searches from Lowell Portfolio in 10 days then another search a month later followed by two this year. I have in the past written to Experian expressing my alarm at the frequency of searches and they were removed only for them to do exactly the same thing. I have now written to Experian and Lowell Portfolio informing them that they have never been given permission by me to search my CF. My CF is almost clear and even though the searches by Lowell are unrecorded searches I do not want them in the future trashing my credit score. I'm going to see what response I get from both companies then possibly take it down the ICO route.
-
As long as they are time limited to the 6 years they can search all they like, but after that they need to be removed as far as I'm concerned. If they are not, then I will proceed to the ICO and court if I have to.
