  1. No never did. Securemail did send a letter stating that it was a letter they were trying to deliver and I needed to phone them to arrange delivery and also that I had to have ID as proof and I had to sign. That rang alarm bells so I never contacted them I suppose they sent the letter back undelivered. I think it was a phising trip.
  2. Hi Sorry for long post. I switched my broadband from AOL to BT in March and I thought I had switched my phone calls back as well because BT set up Option 1 (free evening and weekend calls) but they didn’t take my paid calls (go figure). Well I went to use the phone last night and I couldn’t make a call I could only get through to AOL members service when I finally got through (after about 15mins) they said that my calls had been blocked because I hadn’t paid my calls bill. I tried explaining that I thought my calls had gone back to BT, they said no that they were still with AOL and they had sent me my bill via email and they outstanding bill was on my AOL account (which I honestly thought had been cancelled), I checked my account and AOL had not sent me an email for the outstanding amount, they just cut my phone line without giving me a chance to pay. Nor did they try and phone me to say the amount was unpaid they just cut me off. I am very upset about this because I have a disabled adult son who is autistic and has severe learning difficulties, a mother who has just come out of hospital after a hip replacement and my father has chest pains and blackouts the phone is my lifeline. I tried explaining to AOL on the phone that I need to be able to make calls and why wasn’t I contacted before they cut me off they said that they cut you off first then phone you (if you don’t contact them first) after a few days. Now they were very fast at cutting the phone the bill was due on 6th April and they cut the line on Wednesday night 8th April. They didn’t even give me a week. And apparently they can cut you off immediately but it takes 24-48hrs+ to reconnect so I am going to be without a phone until weekend. (I paid last night what I owed). Who do I complain to please? I intend taking AOL all the way if I can.
  3. If they are Egg's current T&C with APR at 16.9% and 19.9% then what is the position if your APR is 21.9% as mine is. Are the T&C still valid?
  4. Thanks almond. Will do.
  5. Hi almond Did they send your cca by recorded delivery or by ordinary post? I ask coz i still havnt heard anything but a firm called secure mail tried to deliver a letter a couple of weeks ago (thought it was a dca on a phising trip) maybe that was m&s. Sorry but dont really know what you can do next coz when they do eventually send me anything i'll be in the same boat as you. Hopefully someone with better knowledge will be along shortly to help you.
  6. Hi almond. Just wondering after you sent non compliance letter if you have heard or received anything. They signed for my non compliance letter on 23/02 but i havnt heard a word from them and i havnt paid them (payment was 02/03 so its only just late)
  7. Thanks MrShed. We seem to been on to a loser, which is so unfair seeing as he is nothing to do with him. Maybe we'll get divorced (kidding) seeing as he'll be off the hook so to speak.
  8. Hi. My son was 18yrs old when i remarried he is now 20yrs old and a first yr uni student. I divorced his father when he was 6mths old and i have never had any maintainence from him. When my son applied for his student loan/grant they took his step fathers income into consideration (i dont work full time my only income is carers allowance). Is that correct? It seems wrong to me that his step father who he only known for 4 yrs has to have his income taken into consideration and expected to make up his uni money when his own father has never paid anything toward him. Also one of his housemates parents are divorced and only their mother's income is taken into consideration for loan/grant (even though their father earns twice as much as my husband) so resulting in them having twice as much loan/grant money as my son (who relies on us for extra money and we dont have that much because i have a disabled son and have high household bills).
  9. M&S have not replied to my CCA request which they signed for on 2/02 (not 5/02 as i said before). They have had my non compliance letter signed for on 23/02. Question is can i legally withhold payment now the 12+2 days are up? Thanks in advance
  10. Non compliance letter for CCA, which you will find on this site. Dont forget to send it Recorded Delivery. Oh and you probably already know but never sign anything.
  11. No it hasnt and their 12+2 days are up. Sending them a non compliance letter next you'll find one on here (sorry im not much help in that dept. got to search for it myself). Dont forget to send it Recorded Delivery.
  12. Yours is a lot earlier than mine, mine was 1996 (i think. I do know that i had instand credit in store). Would be interesting to see what they come up with from the 80's.
  13. Hi almond. Sending my letter tomorrow also (cant get out today), will let you know what they reply (if any). Can I ask, was yours a charge card then converted to a credit card?
  14. I sent M&S a CCA request signed for 5th Feb. (i have proof of delivery date). Their 12+2 days are now up. Is it the account in dispute letter next? Oh i meant to ask I had a card through the door on last Friday from a firm called Secure mail uk. I did ask on here and was told it could be a DCA on a phising trip so havent contacted them. It would be extreme but do M&S send their CCA replies via secure mail or do they send it Royal Mail? Thanks
  15. Thanks. Well I know I havent got any cards, passports or tickets coming, so i shall just ignore it and let whatever it is be returned to sender (they wont try and redeliver it without me phoning i dont think).
  16. There was a card through the door when i just got back from a firm called securemail. The card says it requires a signature. Could someone please tell me what secure mail delivers? The only thing i am waiting for is my CCA from M&S but that seems a bit extreme to send it that way. Thanks in advance.
  17. HI tiger33. Can i ask what your reason for mis selling is. I am just about to write to egg about my ppi and the fact that because it was a lump sum added to loan so that would mean i have borrowed ppi and i have been paying interest on it (well thats what i have come up with hope that its correct).
  18. Thanks for reply go for it. Guess im just going to have to keep at them.
  19. There was a programme on BBC Wales last night called X Ray, Last night it was about debt and it was actually mentioned on air that DCA have no power. Heres the quote from the programme:- Being pursued for a debt can be incredibly stressful, and many people are unclear about the difference between a debt collector and a bailiff. If you incur a debt you can't pay then it's likely that the company you owe money to will hand that debt over to a debt collection agency to pursue. "The letters you get from an agency can seem very threatening, but it's worth remembering they have no powers to enter your home and collect the debt - they're not bailiffs. But, if you do nothing at this stage, then your case can be taken to the courts and that's when a bailiff can become involved."
  20. Thanks again. No I havnt requested my CCA from them yet. Time to do it now i think. It will be interesting to see what they come back with seeing as account is from 1997 for chargecard and i only signed a application form instore (was given instant decision and credit).
  21. Thanks for quick reply. Yes they are asking for the full balance at the top of the letter. It says 'Outstanding Balance £xxxx.xx. In the first part of letter they ask for full amount but later on in letter they say continue to pay agreed payments. Im confused. they seem to be saying 2 things.
  22. I have today received a letter from M&S but im not sure if they have terminated account or not. Letter dated 20/01/08 exactly 14 days after DN was dated. It says:- Outstanding Balance xxxx FINAL DEMAND This is a final demand as requested by the CCA for full payment of the balance on your account as shown above. A default notice has already been issued on thuis account and a default will now be registered with the CRA. Providing you continue to make the payments you have agreed to make on this account you need take no further action. I do have a reduced payment plan with them at mo. So can someone please tell me if account has ben terminated or not. Thanks
  23. Had a reply from egg again (email was today didnt know egg worked on a Sunday):- "From 30 November 2008 the minimum payment changed to the following. The minimum payment will be the greater of either 2% of the Revolving Balance, or the total of (i) interest billed on the statement on the Revolving Balance (ii) 1% of the Revolving Balance (iii) any Card Repayment Protection premium shown on your statement and (iv) billed fees for late or returned payments shown on your statement, or £5. The amount you are required to pay will be shown on your statement. Communication was sent to all customers towards the end of October 2008. A notification was also placed on the homepage of the Egg website". They still cant (wont) tell me where exactly when they sent email, (surely they should know). Also they havnt answered my question about APR being 21.9% when T&C say different. Have no idea what to do next its their word agains tmine but i know i never had email. Hope someone has better luck than me.
  24. Have had another reply from Egg, simply saying that they sent email out, (and if i couldnt afford to pay to phone them ASAP)but havnt told me when. Nor did they reply to my comments about APR being different from T&C. Have emailled them again this time asking for the date that the increase email was sent and still asking about interest of 21.9% not being on the T&C. Will see what they have to say this time.
