  1. Awaiting the Cheque from Genworth after an offer which I have accepted. 8 % interest included. Original claim lodged August 2009 scandalous wait.
  2. I have just noticed that the Bank of Ireland charge more for an informal overdraft request in Northern Ireland than they do in the rest of the U.K. When queried with BOI staff they have informed me that Northern Ireland is a separate jurisdiction from the U.K. Now I have checked and as far as international boundaries are aware Northern Ireland remains part of the United Kingdom in short the BOI are discriminating against customers who reside in a different part of the UK. Letter sent today awaiting response, any assistance appreciated as always.
  3. The claim is ongoing with the FOS it was stalled due to The Financial Insurance Company (Genworth) arguing that they were not responsible or liable, the FOS has today informed me that after 2 years Genworth has accepted responsibility for misselling and that they would be contacting me. Signifigant development.
  4. FOS have just written to say Genworth are accepting responsibility for debenhams ppi
  5. After 5 long years crampers v hfc ends in victory for the home team, old agreement 1996, keep the faith all and keep going.
  6. Just a letter asking for refund as we felt the PPI had been missold.
  7. IMS - Firstly congratulations on your success well done - Just to reiterate your comments about old agreements HFC have just upheld my complaint also on an account going back to 1996. Previously RBS upheld a complaint by my better half from 1995 no quibble. The HFC was a long drawn out affair but got there in the end so to all keep the faith. (P.S) How long for transfer after acceptance.
  8. Evening everyone after years of wrangling with HFC over PPI sold in 1996 I have decided that court is my only option. FOS stated that I was outside the 6 month time limit for them to investigate. The PPI was attached to a rolling credit agreement over a period of 9 years, the credit limit was 6k and the PPI calculated as a percentage of the outstanding balance. Of course it was compulsory to have it and the original agreement has the PPI electronically ticked prior to our signing. Thing is I need help to know where to start with the claim, court will be Northern Ireland and any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you
  9. Hi all after the FSA ruling told financial institutions to reinvestigate 185,000 rejected PPI claims last year, can anyone enlighten has this happened, or has anyone had notification from any financial institution that they are reinvestigating their rejected complaint.
  10. Hi thought I would let you her indoors had one with RBS through NWS from 1995 we sent them a letter demanding the ppi back and they coughed up about a month later 2 cheques in total 2900. good luck
  11. Ozzy The main thing is was it suitable for your dad at the time of sale, did he have generous sickness benefit through his employment, did the application form recommend that he took the PPI if so then it is an advised sale. It looks to be quite a complicated claim given your dads circumstances there is loads of info on the CAG but the important thing is the point of sale, if it was not suitable then it is mis-sold, check out the notes for claimants at the top of the thread(you prob have) or speak with some of the experts on here they are very very good .
  12. Hi we are claiming from 2002 with Cap 1, they have offered us a paltry sum as a gesture of goodwill refused obviously. Do you have a copy of the original agreement and terms and conditions, do you know why he was refused on his claims.
  13. Thanks for the replies, I only found out we were paying the PPI in 2005 it was listed as Account Cover it also included life insurance which we did not need wee already had sufficient cover. Does the limitation act still apply?
  14. Hello all seeking some advice on a bit of an epic. PPI added by HFC in November 1996 to a loan. Requested it all be paid back in 2006 rejected by HFC 2007 Did not approach the FOS within the six month time limit. Chanced my arm with a claims management company who again told me there was nothing I could do as the claim was not referred to the FOS within the six month period. Is there any other course of action available to me. Is it worth approaching HFC after the FSA directed they should look into all their rejected complaints after 2005? Any advice appreciated.

  19. Mrs Crampers just received substantial compensation from the Bank of Scotland for a single premium PPI paid in 1996, still waiting for the interest as well. One letter and they coughed up.
  20. Hi all we have just received an offer from Bank of Scotland in relation to PPI sold back in 1996 they have offerd to "pay us an amount that would put you back in the position you would have been in had you not taken the insurance " can anyone assist with what this would entitle us too . One letter by the way expected a long fight.
  21. Final response from the Bank of Ireland in which they state "It was not our policy to make recommendations to our customers about this insurance. As we did not make recommendations for this insurance we did not complete a demands and needs statement which is required when advice is given. we had already estabished eligibility criteria from the information stated on the credit card application ,such as date of birth, current employment lenght of time with current employer etc. Problem being that the application form clearly states "we recommend that you protect your payments and purchases with our specially designed payment and purchase protection " Also all that is contained on the application form is name ,DOB,and employers name and address.
