  1. Hmm sounds a bit fishy to me i think it's only cheaper for so many months isn't it? Also what length contract are you tied in for? Plusnet is only 12 months or sometimes none at all
  2. Bloody hell you could've saved yourself a fortune doing it yourself, i got my whole box ( i needed the whole thing as i only had the little old one ) for £6.35 off Ebay!!! Just the front is about £4
  3. Could also be NatWest bank which is situated very close by
  4. Correct! I fitted one myself only last week to my phone line, easy peasy
  5. 8-) Incidentally, how much do you pay per month for their crap service?
  6. I'm with you, i would follow this through to the bitter end. I would've thought that they are obliged to do whatever it takes to give you the service you are paying for and if that means fitting a new faceplate (at their expense) then so be it
  7. Try this http://www.123people.co.uk/ext/frm?ti=person%20finder&search_term=duncan%20bannatyne&search_country=GB&st=person%20finder&target_url=http://www.duncanbannatyne.co.uk/&section=domain&wrt_id=580 Let me know if it works for you?
  8. http://www.voteofnoconfidence.org.uk/addedvote.asp Use it or let them get away with it, it's your choice Basically, put up or shut up!
  9. This might help in the interim, a vote of no confidence for the ConDems http://www.voteofnoconfidence.org.uk/addedvote.asp Use your vote to get them out
  10. Lmao nice one Lefty, he obviously doesn't know you very well does he?
  11. Get onto Plusnet then, i've had no issues at all with them and i've been with them a year now so has my daughter with no problems
  12. I would've thought anything owing to Barclays would be statute barred by now, not sure about CCJ though My hubby has old overdraft + charges account with them and as yet hasn't had a CCJ on it
  13. You could contact your bank and request a 'chargeback' on the card I've no experience of this (except it was done against me on ebay) so i would have a look around the site for more info on it
  14. I know from experience Wonga take their payment @ 5 am if that helps? Have you transferred funds to your mums account before, otherwise it can take a few days to go through the first time? Hope you sort things soon
  15. BT always tell you you're nearing your 10gb limit even if you're miles away from it! It's their way of getting you to upgrade to one of their much dearer packages
  16. I'm with Plusnet and don't have any problems with it It's a subsidiary of BT but cheaper and just as good, free 0845 and 0870's Incidentally Talk Talk do now provide free calls to the same, my friend has just signed on to them
  17. That's as i thought, if payment has been accepted then the transaction is legally binding. Thanks for clearing that up Crapstone
  18. If you have proof of the order then i'm sure they have to fulfil it! Have they cashed the payment?
  19. Have you been to Shelter? I would've thought the council and/or the housing association were under an obligation to re-home you?
  20. Yes and it will work on someone else's subscription as long as it's NOT plugged into a phone line, it does work as i've done it albeit for a few months
  21. We don't have our second box plugged into a phone, and that's a multi-room subscription. Just means i can't go interactive but that doesn't bother me. They only use it to check up on how you use it in case you've had box office movies, pay per view sports etc and they would go through your main box anyway so i wouldn't worry bout that part of it However if you are worried that someone has not done a job that they have been paid to do (and phonelines aren't part of the installation unless you've paid extra for it) then get them back in to do the job properly
  22. Glad it worked out for you Wish it had for me
  23. Hi there, £200 is not unreasonable for agency fees! They don't just do a credit check, they check references, bank activity etc to try to ascertain that you are the sort of tenant the landlord wants which isn't unreasonable really when you think you will be living in their biggest asset. I would say however it's a bit of a cheek to ask for that AND 2 months rent as a deposit, try negotiating a month (which is usual) or a month and a half and i don't see a problem with paying by credit card as long as they accept them
