  1. PD, I'll bet you 5 of your earth pence that I'm more bored of this waiting game than you, go 5p, what have you to lose.........
  2. Good luck with it all mate, keep updating your thread as things progress. Holler if you need help! r-t-v
  3. Do like i've been doing since forever, sit and wait patiently! It's worth reading up on the next stages you you're prepared and know what to expect! However, do not expect anyone to rush!! a tired r-t-v
  4. Good to see you're full of fighting spirit Dougal! I'm subscribing to this thread so I can watch your case unfold. I'm particularly interested in the n244 action you propose to take! Consider my breath baited..... a happy thought thinking r-t-v
  5. Jailbird, thanks for the thoughts! Unfortunately I've already thrown a good deal of money at the Maldives! You don't wanna know how much it's going to cost believe me!! Still, it pleases me that Colon and co are footing some of the bill! Cheers easy! r-t-v
  6. Rayne, I know the feeling about honeymoon destinations! we looked at mexico, and several others that way. Cuba is worth a look by the way, or if you can handle a long flight, try south africa, there is loads to see and do there. I also know what you mean about the rainy season, however, I think you get rain all year round in the maldieves, i've spoken to people that have been in june/july and they said its great. Sometimes it gets so humid you want it to rain! http://www.tripadvisor.com is a really useful site with reviews of loads of hotels in every destination you can think of, written by ordinary folk like us, aswell as the tour operators. Castlepedro, no news as yet my friend. seems there's nothing I can do but wait until my date at the end of next month. DG (aka the anti-christ) ignore all my attempts to contact them, the courts ignore my request for the defence to be struck out, think I'm out of options now except for waiting it out. Unfortunatey my friends grandfather is still no better, so i've not been able to get him to cast his legal genius eyes over my claim yet either. Unfortunatey i've just got to wait it out mate. Still, could be worse, I could have only just started my claim! 6 months have flown by, just hope the next 6 weeks do the same. And as for another good man biting the dust, for me the sun rises and stes with her, she's perfect! a bleary eyed r-t-v
  7. Rayne. Egypt is nice mate, went to Sharm el Sheikh for my holiday. There are the usual touts that pester you as soon as you step outside the hotel complex, but once you learn to ignore them you'll be fine. Everything for sale there is up for bartering. DO NOT pay the price they ask, offer to pay no more than half what the are asking! If them try to push you, just walk away, and don't be afraid to say no. Cairo is worth a day trip, we flew up there for the day and saw the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and went round the Cairo Museum. It was a long day but we really enjoyed it. Cairo itself though is a very dirty City once you get out of the centre, for somewhere that has such history I would have expected them to take better care of it. The diving there is great, if that's your thing, but to be honest, unless you're a proper diver, and want to go and dive some wrecks and the like, you can see just as much marine life with a snorkel, a mask and some flippers. (Again, haggle like crazy if you intend to buy them out there!!) Tipping gets you everywhere in Sharm, we went all inclusive but a few US dollars here and there and the staff couldn't enough for us. If you mention that you're on honeymoon then you'll probably get all kinds of upgrades and stuff, so don't be afraid to drop that into conversations, mention it when you book too, wherever you decide to go. If I'm being brutally honest, then I should tell you to expect to get the sh*ts, they say that 50% of tourists do. You can get some pretty good medication out there, just ask one of the reps. I enjoyed my time there and would go back. It was nice and hot (good for my better half who is a sun junkie) and there was plenty to do. I've just booked my Honeymoon for next year, to the Maldives. Only a mere 378 days to go..................... hope this helps! r-t-v
  8. PD, not sorted yet. I've got a mate who's Grandfather is a Lawyer with over 60 years experience, therefore a Legal genius in my eyes, he was going to have a look at my claim and see if he could compose something the frighten the living you know what out of DG. He's in his 80' sbut his mind is as sharp as a cut throat razor! Unfortunately he's not been too well recently, therefore I find it rather harsh to ask about it! Hopefully he'll bounce back soon. I'll let you know PD. As an aside, apart from practicing law for twice as long as I've been alive, he also found the time to raise countless money for charity, travel most of the world, and become a decorated RAF bomber pilot in the back end of World War II. I've never met a man with more courage in my entire life. He has stories that would make a best selling book, but he's still the most humble man I have ever had the honour to meet. a saluting r-t-v
  9. My AQ deadling was a good few weeks ago, I've submitted mine on time but DG have yet to do so. I did write to the Judge to request the defence be struck out, but I've heard nothing in return. It did seem to hasten my getting a Court date though. Here's a copy of the letter I sent. Address You Vs HSBC Claim No DATE Dear Sir/Madam I write to bring to your attention to the fact that the above claim has been waiting for action on the part the defendant for quite some time now. Over 5 weeks have now elapsed since the deadline for submission of Allocation Questionnaires, and as of xx/xx/xx the defendant has yet to file theirs. In my opinion I believe this to be totally unacceptable, with the defendant showing a severe disregard for the clear instructions set out by the Court. Therefore, I respectfully request that the defence be struck out on the grounds of abuse of process by the defendant. In my attempts to resolve this matter without further misuse of the Courts time, I sent the defendant a letter reminding them of the aforementioned deadline dated xx/xx/xx. Please find a copy of this letter attached, also attached is proof of both postage and receipt, via the Royal Mail’s recorded delivery service. Should you need to contact me about any matter that may arise in this case, please do not hesitate to do so using either the above address or phone number. I look forward to hearing from you. yours faithfully Your Name Might work for you might not, but worth a try I'd say! a bored r-t-v
  10. Yikes! Hope the waters subside lattie, and your pretty floral arrangements aren't ruined!!
  11. Mate, I though I had a bum deal with over 10 weeks to wait! I've sent DG 5 nudges up to this point and not heard a thing, so don't think it's your fault, they are just not wanting to acknowledge things at the moment. I suspect it's due to the sheer muss of paperwork they are probably swamped in right now! Serves them right if you ask me!! Unfortunately you are stuck in the same boat as me where you've just got to keep at them every couple of weeks or so and wait till your date in Court. If you've not heard anything by mid August I'd start to prepare your court bundle. see lattie's useful thread here : http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/hsbc-bank/97447-court-bundles-dummies.html a bored r-t-v
  12. How goes the good fight PD??? A tired r-t-v
  13. Pete, unfortunatey all I can do is wait! DG ignore all my efforts to contact them. It just frustrates me that they can get away with ignoring the rules we have to abide by so religiously. I would like to think that the courts would come down on them like a ton of bricks, but they don't seem to care for the blatant disregard of the court process by these companies. If I chose to flaunt the rules in my line of work, i'd probably get locked up, could even be put to death for treason. It'd sure be interesting to take these losers to sunnier climes to show then what doing a job that makes a difference is all about. Not sure I could trust them with weapons though.... a DG loathing r-t-v
  14. lattie, i've already written to the courts asking for the defence to be struck out, but i'll send a letter to DG telling them of this. maybe that'll gee them up a bit. Although I totally expect them to ignore my letter yet again! I don't know how those losers sleep at night!!!
  15. Apologies one and all, I've been away with work. Nothing has changed. I did phone the Courts last week to find out if the Jokers at DG had submitted their AQ, but they've not bothered. The rather useless woman (not being sexist, she was just rubbish!) on the end of the phone told me that the hearing for directions would be where my case was decided. I asked her to put this in writing as I though a directions hearing did what it said on the tin, low and behold..... Nothing has arrived through the post. I'm taking it upon myself to treat this date in August as my day in Court. I intent to submit a court bundle around the start of the month, and turn up with everything I've got ready to give the losers from DG (who won't show I bet) hell for leather! (it's all I know how to do!) If I just turned up expecting a directions hearing and it turned out to be the real thing, I'd be up the proverbial creek with out a paddle. Still heard nothing from DG, despite no less than 5 nudge letters to date. They really are about as much use as a kid with no arms in a bubble wrap factory. To be frank I'm getting tired of sending the same "why haven't you got in touch..." letter out, I am working on a new angle. I'll post more when I get it right in my head. Keep fighting people! A glad to be back in the UK r-t-v
  16. Thanks for the responses. Andy, sorry to hear you've been kept waiting longer than me! I've had a look and I can't find a thread about your claim, only ones about default removal. Have you got a thread, I'd like to subscribe to keep an eye on how things progress for you. Lattie, thanks for the advice! (once again!) I was kind of hoping that this matter would be resolved sooner, but with the directions hearing at the back end of August, it looks unlikely. Unfortunately I'm going to the middle east for a while in the last few months of the year, so if the courts don't feel like trying to help me then it's quite probable that my claim will progress into next year, as I'll not be able to get time off work to attend court. Frankly I'd be disappointed if i flew back from Iraq to go to court only to find out that DG didn't feel the need to turn up on the day. I think I'd make a suggestion to the Judge to send them back out with me to get a taste of what really is the other side of those rose tinted glasses they seem to see the world through. A DG resenting r-t-v
  17. PD, do not despair! you're not the only one who the courts seem to have forgotten about! I've just had a directions hearing set for the end of August, some 7 months after I sent my first request for repayment letter back. No doubt the Judge will issue directions and set a court date some time in early 2008! I'll be looking at a 1 year claim! Must be a record!!! Knowing I'm not alone at this stage makes me feel slightly less depressed though!!! 10 weeks till anything happens......................... a "so very bored" r-t-v
  18. In an attempt to resolve my case before the directions hearing at the end of August (which will take it well past the 7 month mark) is it worth sending DG a copy of all the documentation that I intend to present at said hearing? (Draft order for directions, list of settled claims, Lincoln abuse order etc.) Show them that I know what I'm talking about. I'm getting tired of sending them a nudge every 10 days which they dutifully ignore anyway. Surely a slight change in tactics can't hurt. If anyone has any new suggestion which are untried, (within reason!) I'll happily act as a guinea pig. a bored beyond belief r-t-v
  19. Found all of my answers thanks to GaryH!!!! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/guidance-notes/64911-got-court-date-guide.html a stuck in limbo r-t-v
  20. You'll be pleased to know that the letter to the court obviously got my file moved to the top of someones pile as I got a letter from the court today which reads; "Take notice that directions will take place on (some time in august) at ******* court when you should attend 10 minutes has been allowed for directions please note, this case may be released to another judge, possibly at a different court." Oh goody, more time spent waiting........................... Is this a good or a bad thing? I was expecting them to set a court date.:xIs there anything I need to prepare or take with me? Are DG even likely to turn up? Is there anything I should send them? Sorry for so many questions! a rather disappointed r-t-v
  21. Pete, thanks for the proof read! I duly edited and posted the letter to the courts, I don't expect to hear anything for a while, they seem to have forgotten about my claim! Hopefully this might get it moved to the top of someones pile so I can at least progress to the next stage instead of this stagnation that I'm in at the moment!!
  22. 1. Will I need to put together a bundle soon? - CHECK 2. Am I Dumb? - Check that'll be me subscribing then. a dumb r-t-v nice one lattie!!!!!!!!
  23. Mrs Abs, congrats on your progress, it might not be quite what you want at this stage, but you are getting there!! Can't find the letter you mean, but i'll keep on digging, probably tomorrow in works time!!! a very happy for you r-t-v
