Hi all,

well I've got my inlaws enquiring about reclaiming their bank charges and I have offered to help out with the letters etc so I will more than likely be asking for advice.

I have already started the process with their SAR and have requested the info on the account from the date of openeing it which I think goes all the way back to the early 1980's so it may be a bit of a battle.

I know how hard they were off during their working lives (both retired now) and know how much like the rest of us how much the money taken from us at the time could have come in handy with maintaining a good bank balance.

Anyway SAR sent yesterday from my inlaws special delivery (I did say just recorded) but never mind, and I have prewarned them of the type of letters expected and not to worry. They will let me know of any letters they receive and will continue to send the relevent prelim and LBA letters as and when required.

I have also advised them the bank may make them an offer and being pensioners it is up to them if they accept it, but to remember how much easier life might have been if the money had not been taken.

I will keep you all informed as to the progress.

Regards

ps my sister inlaws and my sister also want me to help them, could be a full time job at this rate:rolleyes:
