The court will take up to 6 months too. You are sure to get all your money back with 8% interest in court but the ombudsman will only make them pay you part of the money you are claiming.

 

I would go for the court option. After all, you cannot lose if you follow the advice on this site. If you are confused, many people here have been there before and done that successfully. You have nothing to fear.

The Ombudsman will get you charges + stat 8% interest, though they don't specify this to the bank it will be offered.

 

The FOS take about 4-6 weeks to get an offer for you.

 

Not too sure on credit card claims as they seem to look into this OFT report and the £12 figure.

 

Court is much more difficult for the uninitiated and i think many people on here just advice court action as they have been through it themselves, but it is not as easy as issuing a claim and getting your money and the POC's are not as easy to understand.
