Hi all.

I recently sent a letter requesting a copy of all statements over the last 6 years, Amazingly,,,, I received 16 separate envelopes today containing transactions and charges between 2000 and 2003, I wait with baited breath to see how many more envelopes I receive with the others between 2003 and present date, It made me laugh my socks off, I`m sure it would be more cost effective for them to calculate the charges themselves and just pay up as I dread to think how much it costs to print and post them all.

I`ll report any progress/ or not as the case may be.

Total calculated to date is £690.00 with lots more to add.

The banks do seem to be quite random in how they deal with DPA requests. So far, the Nationwide seem to be the most professional - they send a bound folder containing all 72 statements plus their DPA register and a copy of the DPA guidance. They even send it by special delivery within about 20 days of the request.

Other banks seem to behave like your experience, with dozens of seperate envelopes and yet others manage to stuff hundreds of pages in to a single envelope which arrives splitting at the seams.

Good luck with your claim.

A&L: Settled - £6,200

HFC: Settled - £800

Shell Visa: Settled - £250

Egg: Settled - £700

Mint: Settled - £1200

RBS: Settled - £850

The opionions in this post are guaranteed to conform to the laws of physics, but pretty much nothing else...

I got about 137,876,987,892 envelopes.

The post office had to recruit 53 extra staff just to bring them.

OK, I lie, but there was a huge amount, like you I wonder at how much paper and postage they must be spending.

Shame! :p

All the best with your claim!
