Since the Bank asked me to give up my cheque book and stick to a debit card only, it has become apparent that budgeting is so much easier - especially with a joint account! No more using a cheque because the money goes in in a couple of days etc, the temptation is no longer there.

I was too worried to kick away the financial crutch that the chequebook offered on my own, so in making the decision for me, the Bank has greatly aided my budgeting and helped me to keep control of my finances in a much more satisfactory way.

 

So, well done Lloyds and thank you.

 

My only question now is, why did you leave it so long? my financial situation is now stable but previously it was a mess. Why did you continue to let me abuse my financial affairs for all that time knowing it was costing me £1000's in penalties? Why close the stable door long after the horse has bolted? Surely the people making all those manual interventions could see that I was getting into a real mess and a spiral of charges causing cashflow problems causing charges etc? A bit of help and advice would have been nice wouldn't it? Please don't say you left me to it because you knew that the money was going into your coffers? I sincerely hope not.

 

Ms Leeson - if you're reading, I trust that the above does not breach the terms of my settlement, please advise if it causes a problem.
