Mortgages ??

Ok we are taking on barclays but now I have a taste for blood

 

Has anybody taken on a mortgage company for their charges ???

There are a number of claims in progress - you can find them through the search facility. I actually have one myself against Bristol and West which is likely to be in the region of £9000.

 

The principle is exactly the same, however there are risks since these people hold the deeds of your property. The charges are often also a lot more complex, especially where legal action has been taken.

 

My position is a little different to most, as the claim is going to be for more than the balance claimed by Bristol & West to be outstanding. I fully intend that the final settlement will include the handing over of the deeds.

thank-you we're likely to be moving mortage companies very soon so once the deeds are in another companies hands then we may take on our current lender

Excellent, may be worth looking into any early redemption fees as well - it is an area that does need to be tested at some point.
