Citi Cards Account Number

Hi, I am planning to take action on Citi Cards however being the statement shredding person I am I do not have my account number.

 

My account was closed in May last year and when I phoned last night they said they had no trace of my account, however I did get the name of the DPO out of them.

 

He is - Richard Cooke, Citi Cards, 1 Exchange Quay, Salford, Manchester, M5 3EA.

 

Any how, should they still have my account details and can I still make a claim?

 

If so, how do I get my account number or is this not relevant if I send a DPA letter with all the other relevant indentity info with it?

They have to hold all details for 6 years.

 

Send a DPA request letter but put on it that the account was closed, give the date, your address they had, and DOB.

 

They have to supply it even if you dont have the information!

Dont expect it to be easy but they MUST comply anyway!

Hi Tuftus, have a look at my thread concerning Citi Cards. It may help you.

 

I am part-time self employed and therefore am advised by my accountant to keep all statements for at least 5 years. Perhaps we all should. Also, whenever I clear a credit card and close the account, I always keep the zero balance statement as a trophy.

My trophy from citi was the cheque for 65 pence as a refund on my credit balance when they would not give me another card!

 

Needless to say, I hope to get a slightly bigger cheque out of them this time!
