After tallying up charges on my Capital One Credit Card over the last few years... the total came to £972.

I posted my Prelim letter off to the Executive Office in Nottingham on the 18th April..

I have just logged on to the website check my credit card balance and take a look at what it shows below. My limit is the standard £200, but they seem to have refunded £197.34 to bring my balance to zero. I called up and my card is still active but the Indian (?) guy on the phone couldn't tell me why the refunds were there. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

ps Notice below that the £10 payment was in fact the DPA fee they so kindly used to make my minimum payment against my account. How thoughtful, for once.

Well I now have a letter from the famous Robert Udy. Jeez he is a busy man.

He explains he has refunded me £197.34 as a goodwill jesture out of the £972.

Interestingly, one of the paragraph states:

"To explain, we automatically add late payment fees if your payment is missed, arrives late or isn't enough to cover your minimum payment. We'll add overlimit fees if your balance goes over your agreed credit limit."

Has anyone else had letter from Mr Udy admitting they are automatic charges?

If not, would admin like a scan?

Modified LBA Next, i will keep you informed of my progress..
