Received a letter from the court saying that the Defendant advises settlement and would I confirm. Replied with:

Dear Sir/Madam

{mcuth} v Halifax PLC

Claim Number 6SN02735

Thank you for your letter of 15th August regarding the Defendant’s letter advising claim settlement.

Although the Defendant states that they have credited the account with the amount of the claim, I wrote to them advising that I would not consider the claim settled until they refunded the court costs directly to me. I have enclosed a copy of the letter I sent to them on 10th August, which they have not yet had the courtesy to reply to.

Yours faithfully

{mcuth}

Cheers

Michael

They've now settled the court fee of £80 by cheque, so this is completely concluded :)
