Viewings within lockdown- privately rented property

Hi,

We have been renting our house from a private landlord for the last 7 years. Unfortunately my landlady's health is in a bad way and she has been taken into care. Social services are taking control of the house and selling to pay for her care. We have been served our notice which in the current situation (Covid) we get 6 months. The house has went on the market, we are obviously worried about having a lot of people coming and going through the house, we have 5 children, one is a newborn and one has a heart condition so we have been very cautious. So we are just wondering were we stand with people viewing the property? Do we have to let them show people around for viewings?

You can refuse viewing if you want too, the health of your Family is more important than the fact the house needs to be sold.

 

What does it say in your TA about viewings.

 

You could agree to showing people around, the 2-meter rule, face mask worn by All, hand sanitizer, switch heating off, keep all the windows open during viewing and for an hour or so afterwards.

 

If you do agree to any viewing arrange a time and date to suit you, your Family and not them.

 

More importantly you need to get your new accommodation sorted out ASAP

If your tenancy agreement says that you must allow potential purchasers to view the minimum expectation is that viewings should meet these government guidelines
