Hello everyone this is my first time on any forum so please make allowancies

I have read with intrest your experiences with A&L bank charges.

My wife is being randomly investigated by inland revinue and they want statements from our joint current account going back to 2003.

She can find all but 8 statements. Inland revinue have contacted A&L asking them for the statements. She has recieved a form to release the statements but has to agree to A&L charging her £40.

What can she do as inland revinue want them not her.

We have no idea what to do

sod the £40 fee - instead send them an S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) request instead it will only cost you £10 - they then have to supply you with all the details they hold about you and all activity on your account.

You can find the template letter for an SAR request here

good luck

Thankyou for your imput! EXACTLY what I thought.

I was`nt sure if the data protection act was applicable.

£10 is better but still sticks in my craw as it is the tax man asking not my wife.

Many many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Any more sugestions from yourself or anyone else will be apprieciated.

They must be printable, it`s difficult as the banks can be indeed a bunch of "BANKERS"

Hopefully one less worry for my wife.

She is better of packing up mobile hairdressing for the last 27 years legaly and being a scrounger instead of paying out.

I will keep posted

Regards
