You need to have a much more detailed look at the FAQ section, this matter is quite complex - but essentially any charge over £12 will be deemed the point at which the OFT get involved... They are not suggesting £12 is fair, so we continue to request the full amount back

Claim the lot. I expect that from now on the banks will try and only repay the difference between £12 and what they charged but then that would be an admission of overcharging.

 

Old claims it won't affect but they will try and fob you off.

 

I think any bank that charges over £12 will have trouble defending their charges now.

 

I expect that the interest rate on loans and overdraft will be raised and the rate on savings will be lowered to account for the loss of income.

Abbey (Charges on 3 accounts and default on my credit record) - DPA letter sent 30/03/06 - 40 days limit is 9th May - Recieved DPA printouts 05/04/06 with microfiche "fob off" letter. <p>Barclaycard (Charges on 1 account and default on my credit record) - DPA letter sent 03/04/06 - 40 days limit is 13th May - Recieved some statements 08/04/06 along with DPA printout and a microfiche "fob off" letter. Claim for £340 sent 11/04/06

Thanks for that, I couldn't see any info in FAQ. I'm surprised they are refunding charges in full.
Read the FAQ and the forum material and you will start to understand why. Also read the the OFT report and you will understand the context of the £12.00 charge
