My wife had a Virgin/MBNA card which was defaulted.

Recently a letter came from AK in regards to the debt

- they very kindly offered a discount too.

Now, it doesn't actually state on the letter what the debt relates to

- i.e. original creditor or account.

Also on her credit file,

this card is currently showing as a closed account and 'settled'.

It is nowhere to be seen on the open accounts.

Would it be normal to disappear from the credit file for a time whilst the debt is being sold?

just wanted to ask a quick question.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
