Hello everyone, My partner currently works as a catering assistant for North Lanarkshire Council. It's a casual role and comes under the Council's subsidiary company "CultureNL". She has been offered another casual role as a receptioniship which comes under the "North Lanarkshire Council" bracket. She will be working both roles, so will she be taxed for two different jobs because one is with "CultureNL" and the other "North Lanarkshire Council"?

HMRC will instruct both employers to deduct tax according to her current tax code. Overall it wont make any difference to the tax bill but it is quite common for HMRC to give the wrong information to the employers and the wrong amount of NI and tax then gets deducted. Generally this is sorted out within the tax year but sometimes it can drag on. Knowing what the correct code and the total tax and NI paid will help osrt out any problems. If it looks wrong then the first port of call will be the employer as they can get it corrected in real time.
