I have had a graduate account with Natwest for 2 years and the past year I have been paying interest on £800 on my my £1800 ARRANGED overdraft.

It is soon to be converted to a 'Select' account and I will pay interest on the entire £1800 and £6 usage fee a month.

I am going to teach abroad for 5 months and I have sufficient funds to pay the interest on this account and my phone bill that comes out of this account as a direct debit! My plan is to do this travelling then either get a job out there and repay my overdraft through that or come home and get a job.

I am worrying about what will happen while I am away, I will try and put some money into the account but can the bank just take it off me? If they do and default me what can I do whilst away?:|

I doubt my account will go over the arranged overdraft whilst away as I have some money in it (still overdrawn every month).

Thank you for any replies.
