Hello,

I have just checked my credit file and there is a £14 default on it from Arrow Global,

now from what I can understand they are a debt collection company.

The only thing I can think of is an old mobile broadband account that a family member was using (and paying for)

and I not sure whether they paid the final bill when the account was closed and I an not able to find out from them now.

The account in question was went into default in August 2011 and I have not received any correspondence from them regarding this debt,

and a £14 debt would have been something I would have paid off as soon as I received contact had they bothered to do so.

What I would like to know, is would I be able to contact Arrow to question this debt,

and find out who it was owed to, and if it's an actual debt pay it off.

Also as they haven't contacted me and because I would have done something about it sooner had I known,

is there anything they can do with my credit file to repair any damage?

Also if I do contact them will they try to add any extra fees to the original debt, which could make it unaffordable, or would they just take the initial £14?

Thanks for any help you can be.

paying it wont resolve the issue

a default is there regardless to if you pay a debt off or not

I would suspect that the original 'creditor' placed the default before selling it on.

just remember they have no legal remit to add anything to a 'debt'

and that a DCA is NOT A BAILIFF

they have NO SUCH LEGAL POWERS.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

If they can't charge me anymore and worst case is I end up paying it's only £14 and I could at least find out exactly what it's about (ensuring it's what I do think it is) and I know I would have nothing to worry about.

no-one is going anywhere near a court for £14 so why wate the money

the only issue you might have is ifthe default is preventing a mortgage or WHY.

its there for 6yrs from birth regardless to if you pay it off or not.

there could be worth in contacting the originator of the debt

and getting them to remove the default as a GOGW.
