I've read some threads on here regarding claiming PPI, charges etc from studio cards,

I have had a account with them since approx 1999, and have bought things on & off since then.

I currently owe £80 but about £30 are charges,

over the years my balance has been paid off then used again

and balance has gone up to £800 at one point.

I cancelled PPI on the account last year when I used my account after having a zero balance

and realising they were adding PPI.

I had letter saying I couldn't reclaim for ppi after I cancelled it.

I'm wondering if its worth sending studio a SAR to see what charges etc I have and try and reclaim them.

I know the PPI wouldn't have paid out as I was a housewife when I first had studio account so wouldn't have asked for it anyway.

Is it worth sending SARs to any catalogues etc I have/had and try to reclaim?

Whether they have balances on or are zero balances?

Thankyou

Hi,

If you have all of the statements then these will show all charges and if any form of payment protection insurance is or has been applied.

If you do not then send an SAR to the Catalogue Companies enclosing £10 for each Catalogue Company, if you have or had multiple accounts with the same Catalogue Company then only one £10 SAR request is needed quoting all of the account numbers.

The letter you received saying that you could not reclaim is incorrect, you can reclaim but please do not use any reclaim Company, you can do this yourself for free, if you need any advise then please do not hesitate to post any questions.

If you owe any monies and the account is either still active or not been sold to a third party, then any refunds will first pay off any remaining balance(s) with the remainder (if any) then being paid to yourself.

I sent studio a CCA request & £1 a couple of weeks ago,

today I received a full breakdown of all PPI, service charges & default sums etc on my account,

they've actually sent all the information I need without sending a SAR and £10!

but have still not answered the CCA.

I currently owe about £70 on my account, yet the PPI charges etc come to just over £1000.

There seems to be a mixed response about Studio reclaims,

I shall send a letter off and hope for the best.

With regards to the CCA request do I just wait and see what they come back with?

Hi,

i have been running 24 Ace catalogue ( its the same as Studio Cards), for years now.

I owe £352.39 at the mo, and am trying to pay it off with a payment of either £30 a month, or £50 if i can.

The problem im having is the 'Service Charge', which then takes my balance back up.

Can i claim back these charges, and how do i go about it?

Thanks for any help.

I posted about reclaiming ppi from studio in a earlier post.

I sent off a CCA and £1 and was then going to send a SAR

but what I actually got back was in their words a 'full trading summary',

4 pages of all my payments in & out, an SAR. !

I also had a letter received the same day to say that they would be sending me a full trading summary

and that they have passed on my request for the credit agreement to the relevant department.

The PPI on my account runs into hundreds of ££££'s!

I am still waiting for the credit agreement to come through but

today I received a letter from Moorcroft about collecting the £70 I have outstanding.

Do I contact Moorcroft telling them I'm still waiting for the cca request from studio?

I sent it the beginning of February so the 12+2 days is more than up now.

I have received letter from Moorcroft telling me they will no longer be contacting me regarding this debt

and have passed everything back from studio.

I wrote to studio asking them to refund the PPI and charges on my account,

this was about 6 weeks ago but have heard nothing from them at all,

with regards to the amount outstanding or the letter I sent about ppi.

Studio did not enclose a signed agreement but the account was opened in 2000.

How long do I give them before chasing up the ppi refund?

Update & some advise needed please

I tried to reclaim charges, but studio were having none of it, saying they were legal etc., etc.,,

now I've just received a letter from lowells to say my studio debt of £74 has ben passed on to them

and all further payments need to be sent to them,

I didn't think studio could pass on the debt without a signed agreement,

studio sent through everything but a agreement when I sent a cca!

Moorcroft passed it back to studio and studio have now passed it on to lowells,

yet they have still not sent me a signed agreement

Any help on my next move, I don't think I'm going to get anywhere reclaiming charges from them!

Moorcroft don't buy debts

Cabot sent letter today, statement of account.

Says they've recently reviewed my account and are informing me of all financial transactions,

said I don't need to do anything!!

Any payment made will be applied to outstanding balance

Original sender studio agreement date 1997,

when studio sent me info it only went back to 2001

and no agreement included

Not sure what I need to do now

sorry only just seen this reply, I sent in a covering letter with a spreadsheet and the interest added, they wrote back saying no and this is their final reply in relation to this matter, which is why i gave up :-(

Cabot are phoning several times a day and writing letters each week, saying they will continue to contact me until i pay my debt, do I do yet another cca? as i did one for the first debt collecting company and they wrote back saying they were passing it back to studio, who then obviously passed it on to cabot

I would suggest the debt has been sold

As Cabot don't chase debts for creditors

You could send them a CCA yes

You could also inc a copy of the already too stating the debt is all disputed penalty charges etc
