I am looking to reclaim my bank Halifax charges (£271.63 in total) that have been coming thick and fast recently. Is it worth perusing?

Will I also lose my planned overdraft limit? Also, will they close my account entirely?

TIA.

I'm afraid it is probably not worth claiming your bank charges if they relate to a current account, unless there is some inherent unfairness in the way they have been imposed upon you or because of the reason that they have been imposed upon you – other than the fact that they are naturally unfair and extortionate.

You would need to tell us more about it but probably the answer is going to be that it scarcely worth bothering.

Would you lose your overdraft? Very possibly, the banks are nasty and vindictive. This is the kind of retaliatory action that they take. They are completely unprincipled.

With a close your account? No probably not now – they used to a few years ago but this was criticised by the regulatory authorities and they probably wouldn't dare do it now.

Thanks for the reply. So you're saying I'd be unsuccessful then? I have a current account with the Halifax with a std £250 overdraft limit and a low income right now else to add really. Thought I could apply some hardship test or something. Saw some advice on moneysavingexpert.com about this so initially thought it was worth a punt.
