Hi, could anybody help a beginner please??

Basically I have sent the SAR (20/10/06) to 3 banks, Natwest, Barclays, and Abbey. i have received an aknowledgement and then statements from Natwest (great), but nothing from the other two.

Even when I speak to these banks on the phone they cannot locate the letter (recorded delivery with £10 postal order) because the account is closed. They have suggested that I send the letter to a different address which they have given me so I've done that (2/11/06), stating that they already have my £10 from a previous letter.

Has anybody has any experience with a problem of them not receiving recorded delivery letters etc. Also what did you do to combat it?

P.s. In my 2nd letter I stated that instead of 40 days to reply they now only have 30.

Thanks for your ideas..

If you sent the letters by recorded delivery then go onto the royal mail website and use the tracking number that is on the slip you retained. That will tell you exactly when it was delivered and after a couple of weeks you can even get a copy of the signatory for it.

The 40 days starts the day they recieve that letter, if they lose it internally that's their problem. Ideally its best to send it the their data protection manager but any branch should be able to forward it onto the right department.

Great thanks for that. i done it and printed out the signature of whoever signed for the letter! Quality!

Now sit back and relax as the clock is definitely ticking and you can prove it :D

You may like to drop them a reminder when they get down to about 14 days left as some have.
