received a letter off Aviva the other day to say they've stopped my cover of mortgage life insurance which to be honest I wasn't aware i was still paying the £11.32 a month direct debit?

I haven't had a mortgage for at least 4yrs so am i within my rights to claim back the payments I've paid since the mortgage ceased or is it just an error on my part? thanks in advance

You could claim back if it was a linked product and offered nothing once the mortgage was paid off. I suspect that Aviva will state that the policy did offer some form of protection, so won't refund. But ask them.

We could do with some help from you.

were you told the life insurance was compulsory with the mortgage

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

If you believe the product was miss sold you should complain to Aviva. they will forward it to the seller of the product. I would also question why is was cancelled. If it was the end of the term that's fine. But if they have cancelled because it was unprofitable they it may be an excellent policy and you can claim Aviva have left you unprotected without reasonable insurance.

In regards to miss selling, were you aware you had the product? Even though it may have been suitable if you were totally unaware of the policy you will still be able to claim. Although we may need more details.
