Hi,

 

I have entered a dmp and sent initial contacts to all lenders. Most have responded holding account and interest bar the three above.

 

lending stream are not playing ball at all and are refusing to stop charging daily interest still. They said they would if I sent letter of authority for Stepchange which I did but they haven't!

 

payday UK are constantly calling me and the email address provided on their emails bounce back

wageday advance are also hounding me refusing to deal with me via email and will apparently only deal with me over the phone.

 

payday UK and Wageday haven't responded to letters I sent.

 

Stepchange won't talk to any of my lenders until I get a 10 digit account no for another one of my debts with very however I'm only being provided with a 6 digit reference.

 

Grrrr! So I'm in limbo, daily interest being charged by all three and cannot see a way forward.

Pay day companies hate debt management plans which is why they behave the way they do. The way to get their attention is through a Formal Complaint in writing. As this is an official route, they have 56 days to respond and if they fail to respond or offer no help or don't agree to the DMP (although the do not have to) you can then report them to the Financial Ombudsman. In the meantime, you can inform the OFT about the actions of these companies.

 

The FCA takes over regulatory powers from April but the OFT will forward on case histories to them. It is hoped the FCA will have a few more teeth than the toothless OFT

Make sure to head the letter FORMAL COMPLAINT. Make sure to put it in big bold letters.
