I bought a washing machine in October 2012,

I didn't have much change from 700.00.

It is now broken down.

The manufacturer has already been out to repair it around last Xmas with the same fault.

For that price I really would expect it to last longer.

What rights do I have with the manufacturer?

  • 1 month later...

It's gone again, I'm fuming. The washing machine is 13 months and 2 weeks old today, from delivery date.

I went in to currys yesterday to invoke my rights under sale of goods act and currys are refusing to do anything without an independent report. Do they have the right to demand this as in all fairness where am I going to get the money to do that 10 days before Christmas.

Money is tight as it is, I don't have a functioning washing machine. I don't have anyone to do my washing for me. I have a 5 year old with a registered disability and just want to cry.

If I did have any spare cash it would be to pick up a second hand one from eBay, or Facebook selling pages

If hoover do fix it can I still soga it as to tell you the truth I'm sick of it now as I need a machine I can rely on.

I have told currys I'm allowing them 10 pm ware and tear on the machine and I picked out a zanussi as a replacement as I don't want another hoover

Sounds like you need to get trading standards involved, or consider legal action.

Can i ask if you went to the top? CEO i mean, and not just dealt with the shop?
