Hey, I was wondering if you could offer any advice.

I've had a Very account for several years that I haven't been able to keep up repayments with due to work being hit and miss.

It is currently with NDR Money who started off by demanding £80pm off me and now more recently £140pm with hardly any cash coming off the account itself after interest/charges.

I couldn't afford this so I was just paying them what I could afford £10/£20pm.

I logged into my account on Saturday to make the usual payment and noticed that

strangely I had been credited the following amounts into my account:

Refund Administration Charges £348.00

Interest Charge Amendment £1,388.13

With the balance leftover being £316.00

I figured to just to wait and see what my statement said but lo and behold

a letter came in the post today stating the following:

Dear CJ87,

Default Notice

Served under section 87(1) of the consumer act 1974

Running account credit

"we refer to the above agreement which you have entered into with us. The Payment Clause of the

agreement provides that you must make the required periodic payment in full by its due date."

"You are in breach of that clause because you have failed to make all your periodic payments in full

when due, and arrears amounting to £1262.42 are outstanding."

"To remedy the breach you must pay us the total arrears by the 9th of February."

IF YOU DO NOT TAKE ACTION REQUIRED BY THIS NOTICE BEFORE THE DATE SHOWN THEN THE

FURTHER ACTION SET PUT BELOW MAY BE TAKEN AGAINST YOU.

Further Action:

"On the date shown, we shall require the outstanding balance on the account,

less any rebate allowable, as set out below."

Amount outstanding:£2059.77

And so on and so fourth.

There is just no way I can afford this.

I would be very grateful for any advice on what my options are.

Over a grand in charges/interest just seems like robbery to me.

Sorry for writing a book but I figured I'd best give as much info as possible,

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hey Gust, thanks for the reply.:-)

Just checked on Noddle now and I'm down on shop direct as late payment.

So I don't think they've put the default on my file yet.
