Facebook and mature dating adverts garbage

does anybody know how i can get rid of this Mature Dating Adverts on facebook. It even follows me onto other web pages. I find it offensive and degrading to women to have this constantly shoved in my face. I did not either ask or request this garbage

I would say that you could radically improve the quality of your life by quitting Facebook altogether. Yes, it's difficult but possible.

 

Failing that, you can remove most of adverts and malware by editing the "host" file. If as I assume you're new to the concept of a HOST file, read here:

See my previous post. Additionally you can turn Flash off. Most of these ads are Flash-based.

Just use an adblock addon for your browser. As for privacy issues, facebook can only share them if you give them out. If you are willing to put your life history on there, then its nobodies fault but your own.

The Facebook profile was set to maximum, not public. It was to be used for work as a social media site for employees to converse. The company has a face book page profile for which i was asked to participate with my own face book page.

 

The reason i am getting this garbage of mature dating rammed in my face is that i in my personal profile i put i was single.

The face book software interpreted my age (DOB) being the mature group and not in a relationship (single), then targeted me with this unsolicited garbage. I find these sort of adverts obscene and degrading to women, they are no more than soft porn intended to titillate people.

As someone has said use an adblocker plugin with your browser. it makes the whole internet a more pleasant experience.

can someone recommend then an ad blocker for internet explorer, and not Firefox

Use firefox or chrome. I.e has way too many vulnerabilities, is heavily bloated and just too slow compared to other browsers. MS rarely let anyone mod or develop for Ie.

 

However, saying that, if you need to use Ie and cant use any other browser, your best bet would be adblock plus. They are working on a Ie version of their addon right now, and hope to release it very soon.

I prefer chrome, but modded. It's nowhere near as bloated or resource heavy as IE or firefox, and pages load pretty much instantly with it.
