I owe Littlewoods the amount of £7442,82 which is the result of years of buy now pay later and hideous amounts of interest being added,

they and other debt firms have written and called consistently

but after losing a close member of my family just over a year ago,

I kind of lost the plot and ignored all contact.

My husband was handed a letter 24/1 from a man who called and asked for me,

the letter states that on the 28/1 he will be calling back and I will be served with a Statutory Demand issued under the insolvency Act 1986,

I have a mortgage so too say I am terrified is an understatement,

please help and advise what action I should take?

Thank you,

Mazza1969

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

As the SD has not been served, it is worth sending a CCA request to Lowells or BW Legal (whoever is dealing with the account). If they cannot provide the CCA, you can then use this in any set aside.

We could do with some help from you.

Bang on, Uncle – get the dispute in before any SD is served. Any dispute raised AFTER the SD is served may be ignored by a judge at a set aside hearing.

And yet another Lowell SD. The OFT really must do something about these cowboys. They are issuing SDs like confetti as a debt collection tool, which is an abuse of process.

It's strange how there doesn't seem to be any consistency in how they work.

My OH answered the door a couple of months ago and the guy who stated he was from BW legal asked for me but was told that I wasn't available, so he walked away without any problem. After reading on here the that they are issuing SD's like confetti, I sent a CCA request to Lowells.

No response has been received from Lowells but a letter came from BW (approx 30 days later) enclosing a few random statements but nothing more and no mention of my CCA.

I have since sent the 'Account in Dispute' letter and await their response.
